That's outrageous. My wife has a rare neurological condition that compromises lung function. This has been going on for 2 years, she has been hospitalized about 5 times for several days at a time, and has had a couple of different intravenous therapies, several times each, and the cost of these is tens of thousands of dollars. She is now approved for an experimental therapy that would cost hundreds of thousands. If we lived in the United States, we would have had to sell our house. That's absolutely true, no exaggeration. But, it has not cost us anything, except ten bucks here and there for pharmacy fees. We don't have private insurance, don't need it. I can pay the dentist and the optometrist by myself. You need to put a stop to this bullshit but here is your problem, the pitchman is Bernie Sanders whose personal brand requires him to present health care as wildly far-left socialist democracy when, in the rest of the civilized world without exception, it is the most centrist position that a politician could adopt. He dooms it to failure all by himself, because his brand is so important.3 points

Not surprised at all Also a sign that AJ opting out probably isn't a thing1 point

ideally, you want to suck in non-voters. The best thing that could happen out of a situation like this is that people who normally don't bother paying any attention to politics decide they need to start voting. I know - quite the pipe dream, but if you had to pick the most important target audience, it would be them.1 point

And the fools signed it without question. I really wish they were stuck with a 100 year lease on a time share in Siberia. Better yet 10 years of weekly deliveries from Pampered Chef1 point

One more think. The buck doesn't stop with Trump. There are still many, many elected officials who are or might be in position to overthrow future elections. Democrats may moan and groan about results, Republicans are still complicit in attempting to overturn democracy.1 point

I thought Nixon and company were despicable. Trump and his minions are one thousand times worse.1 point

If you can get Sue the moderator to drop two f-bombs in the same post, as Trump managed to do today, you know you’re a very bad person, indeed.1 point

How can anyone listen to any of that 67 minute phone call with Raffensperger and listen to Trump, absolutely losing his mind, and not be reminded of a petulant three-year-old having a fucking tantrum. Are we really going to allow this motherfucker to run again? I’m sickened ….. every day it becomes more horrific1 point

This witness is moving as well. Remember when it was a huge issue that Hillary correctly called these people deplorable?1 point

I don’t get why whole countries seem to expect that the healthcare system have a primary focus on making sure people are healthy. 🧐1 point

Chris McCoskey and Dan Dickerson work well together. I remember thinking Darrell Evans was old when he signed with the Tigers. Here I am a decade older than that age now.1 point

to that I would add Baddoo. Not sure why Akil got himself so crossed up once the season started after a decent ST, but for whatever reason he did. I tend to think that the way Akil hung in there right through the whole season last year without being totally exposed by August and Sept argues there is an MLB player there, and if there is he has the physical tools be a dynamic one.1 point

I think he was trying to challenge Faedo in that moment. It's risky. But in the context of a developing ball club, I am OK with it1 point

That's exactly my assumption and I'm just not interested. I would say he's probably going to be a really good regular season player and a dud playoff player. And will be off the court 50% of the time due to injuries... But I'm just guessing. I'm not interested. Even if he falls to #5.1 point

I'm sure most of Weaver's top 4 are projected to go before 5 (assuming that Ivey is a part of that top 4) so he'll need one of them to fall to get his guy i.e at the mercy of the board. The closer we get to this thing, the more I hope Ivey falls. He has some serious deficiencies but he has the star potential that Murray and Mathurin just don't have and you need stars to win in this league. I wavered on this for a while and had Mathurin over Ivey earlier in the process but now I'm on Ivey. The shooting can be worked on but that natural elite athleticism and attack mentality is too enticing to turn down. Not to mention that Ivey actually wants to be here. I still have a hard time believing that the Kings won't maximize the value of that pick by taking the long term upside in Ivey or trading the pick for a haul but it's the Kings so who knows.1 point

I think it's a little premature to say that, yes Brieske and Faedo are off to good starts in their MLB career but who knows if that is going to last. If they are indeed legit that helps the argument but if they aren't who can you really point to at this point as a success at the MLB level outside of Skubal and a relatively small sample of Turnbull before he had a major injury? Just about every team in the league can point to that type of "success", particularly if they drafted as many high end pitchers as we have. I will say it has been nice seeing guys like Flores and a couple others take positive steps in the minor leagues and along with the aforementioned turnarounds of Brieske and Faedo I have a little more confidence in the pitching development than I did say a year or so ago but I think it's too early to say that they have been good at it.1 point

I am so stealing that. Reminds me of one of my favorite music jokes: What does a Deadhead say when they run out of pot? "Boy, this music sucks".1 point

Zach Harper of The Athletic has them taking Mathurin at 5, Murray at 4, with Ivey slipping to Spurs at 9. That would be surprising.0 points
