He could've said "I'm disappointed with the results but I have confidence that AJ will turn it around" or something of that nature. Don't patronize the fan base by saying you're "very pleased" and talk about young players have come up and developed when one of the biggest knocks is that our young guys have gotten injured, regressed in the case of Baddoo or have been disappointments in the case of Tork.3 points

The Tigers’ offense bothers me more than a player tending to an off field family issue.2 points

I'd like to apologize on suggesting Miles Bridges. In my defense, I didn't know he beats his wife. He's done. Broke her nose and wrist, ruptured her eardrum and she's got bruises all over, blood coming from her ear, a concussion, and that's just recent injuries. Fuck that guy. The NBA should ban him for life. I don't think this is some kind of hoax. He should go to prison, but probably won't because he's rich.2 points

I believe this helps explain why so many black people don’t feel they have any stake in the American system and thus, among other things, don’t vote.2 points

My issue with the Bagley deal is Detroit negotiated against itself. He is restricted so let him bring you an offer then match it. I think the odds of a team making him an offer were pretty small.2 points

I really don't want to speculate too much on this particular case, but again, I do see scenarios where this case could be a lot different than other cases involving other athletes. Either way, I kinda operate from the view that I wouldn't want someone examining my personal life under a microscope in my job, so ERod deserves that same treatment. No matter his fame or salary. It's between him and the team.1 point

As somebody who has never been married maybe I'm being cold hearted but if the rumors are true that he is MIA for "marital problems" I don't think that is a good enough reason to still be getting paid during the whole ordeal. If he wants to take time off to go handle it I guess nobody can stop him but you shouldn't expect to be paid the whole time and if you are you should atleast give the courtesy to check in and give updates to your employer. Not disappear off the face of the Earth.1 point

Chris Ilitch is in a tycoon bubble, so probably everything he knows about what the fans are thinking is what he's told, and who among his executives will tell him the truth? Do his executives even know the depth of the truth? They might well be in their own bubble.1 point

One factor is that there is presumption in law that when statutes enumerate things, that list is limiting. Now there are lots of different laws that give EPA mandates, and some give the agency more leeway than others for sure, that's why they thought they had a chance to get this through, but the problem with CO2 is that you don't even have the mandate for the objective. So for instance with SO2 the objective is stated - acid rain. EPA has lot of individual mandates - around tailpipe emissions, specific industries like steel, surface water pollution etc, but Congress has never given them one for climate change/CO2. And if you think about it, once you regulate CO2 you have a ton of major policy choices implicit in that - How much? How fast? You are going to be making choices that put some industries out of business and boost others, you may favor certain regions of the country over others. Do you want the EPA administrator to have the power to tell you to scrap your gas furnace by next year or that CAFE standards get doubled in 3? Those are policy decisions that need to be made at the political level and then those mandates passed to EPA for implementation/enforcement.1 point

Give me a break.....he didn't have to act like Jim from Taxi. The only thing that would have been stupider is if he had rolled some 80's montage about how the Tigers are improving.1 point

Leonard or Vivas would be great, although IDK if Fulmer alone brings that back. I liked that Cody mentioned the Mets as well and Brett Baty, who would be a pretty good fit with where this team lacks, particularly if the team is concerned about Candy as a long term option. Although I doubt Soto would be enough and that the Mets will want to trade him lol I don't know how much of a sweetener it would be for teams, but the Tigers should be open to tapping their minor league pitchers to add to a reliever if it would generate a better return.1 point

Dude had the nerve to post this a couple weeks ago all the while abusing his significant other. The NBA should "Deshaun Watson him" and make a major example to show that this type of behavior won't be tolerated. Edit: just realized it was from June 16th of 2020 not this past June 16th but still my point still stands.1 point

Yeah it is frustrating as hell to me. I don't mind so much when it's somebody like Lillard in Portland, Lebron his first time in Cleveland(left in FA but overall point is the same) or even Matthew Stafford with the Lions where you play for an inept franchise for years and you do all you can for them but it just doesn't seem to be happening so you want to move on but nowadays these guys play on talented teams but the first sign of a little adversity they bitch and want out instead of you know actually trying to overcome it.1 point

The Bagley contract is a bit of an overpay but not anything egregious. He's a pretty well rounded post scorer so if he improves his defense, the contract won't be an issue. My only problem is that they have all these bigs but none of them are floor stretchers outside of Olynyk who is old as dirt and oft injured. Looking at a Bagley, Stewart and Duren frontcourt long term and I can't see a fit unless Stewart starts hitting that 3 with more consistency.1 point

i'd definitely deal cossa in a deal for a good center. goalies are fickle and cossa is a giraffe on skates right now. all the talent in the world, but he's got a long way to go. teams dont usually deal #1 defensemen or 1-2 centers for a reason. we've got our #1 defenseman... as for bert, he's a great disruptor and a really good player, but he's about to turn 26 and is due to get paid big money after this year. if your timeline to compete is now based on seider/raymond, then the time to move bert to maximize his value is now. he'll be in his 30s when the wings are ready to compete. with his play style and injury history, there's a good chance he's not the same player by then.1 point

The rules that govern religion bother me. I have a good friend who is pretty religious, every once in awhile we get into discussions about religion and mostly it is just us asking each other questions and listening to the responses. We are close enough to where it never gets confrontational and he doe snot think he needs to save me or any of that...at least he never acts like he feels that way. The one I grew up with says you have to take jesus as your personal savior in order to get into heaven...something to that affect, now I do not really believe in heaven or hell, but I can be a good person my entire life, never hurt a soul, but if I do not take him into my heart I am doomed, but the dude who spent his life hurting other people...maybe suddenly finds god and is really sorry about being a bad guy his whole life will get in because he repents and truly believes? Lost me there.1 point

Even that winning percentage is skewed cause they had a half way decent winning percentage the first couple years of his tenure with players that he didn't acquire.0 points
