Come on now, those drops weren't on Goff. That throw to Reynolds for example was perfect. He was separating from the defender and led Reynolds and hit him on the hands in stride. That was perfect ball placement.2 points

the reason the lions are losing this game has nothing to do with time outs and everything to do with lack of talent.2 points

This line about "Zelenskyy wanted to negotiate but Johnson talked him out of it" sounds like complete and utter bullshit to me.2 points

so before this started, I asked the question about whether the Ukrainians were going to be 'serious' about defending themselves or whether we would find, like say in Vietnam or Afghanistan, that we could pour in effort from this side to no ultimate good, because if that had been the case, then none of the death and destruction war would be justified. Cut a deal with Putin and be done with it. And since history proves that the US is quite capable of misunderstanding the true nature of the clients we have picked in the past, I absolutely had doubts about this enterprise. But the truth has been that the Ukrainians answered the bell from day one. This is their war, not ours, and they have every right, and every moral justification, to fight to create a way of life different from what they could expect under Putin. And anyone in the "West" who fails the see the need for them to win doesn't understand the value his own freedom, because it's the "West" the Ukrainians are fighting for.2 points

You have to love Kerry Carpenter's audition so far. In a sample size that gets less small every day he is playing like a 32 homer guy. Now, he probably will sit out against tough lefthanders and he won't get 600 PA's in a full season, but still, 450 PA's as the lefthander in a platoon, with 20 or 25 home runs and an OBP in the 330's, would be an unexpectedly nice addition in 2023. I think that he has taken Baddoo's job which is tough because Baddoo is such a likeable kid with some exciting potential but c'est la vie.2 points

Bears beat Niners, Vikes beat Packers, Giants beat Titans, Lions… lose by three in a game where they give up a pick six.1 point

This is for @KL2 Dated January 22nd. "I'm unequivocally stating Stafford is a better NFL QB than Goff. In in no way, shape or form claimed, inferred or insinuated in the post that Goff was a better QB."1 point

You know what makes today's loss tolerable? Two things - 1 - The Eagles are a better team than the Lions and it's not that close. 2 - Matt Patricia and his offense absolutely sucked today and the Patriots got their arse kicked. Every week he loses and looks bad, is a win to me. (Funny, no Brady and no more cheating and Bill is not such a great coach anymore..........well, less cheating, anyway). Kind of looked like last year's opener of falling way behind and making it close in the end. Hopefully the follow up is better. And I think today we saw that maybe Jeff Okudah wasn't the reason Jeff Okudah sucked in his rookie season and maybe, just maybe it was the aforementioned asshole that coached his rookie seasons.1 point

I don't need to I can look at your post history it's there for everybody you have multiple post comparing the two and saying good is Stafford. You got posts about hand size, you got posts about how their careers were the same the first x years, you got posts when you talk about both having Supporting casts. If you want to argue semantics, no you never used the exact phrase Stafford is Goff. But your message has been abduntely clear you think Goff is just as good and is a super bowl qb therefore he is great. You have multiple times done this and I will keep calling you out on because it was ridiculous then and it remains ridiculous now how you defend Goff and compare him to people like Stafford or make an argument like well he went to a super owl therefore he's good1 point

The moment we traded Stafford, this became a four or five your rebuild. That is unacceptable in the NFL and also why it was a bad trade. Two years wasted on Goff and then two or three more years trying to figure out if we found our qb of the future.1 point

Patience. Norris might be tossing multiple innings before this game is done.1 point

I dont really accept the premise that his contract isn't relevant to the discussion. But the best version of the 2023 Detroit Tigers has Austin Meadows on it and producing. So, yes.1 point

I don’t think Meadows will leave of his own accord because he is still hanging out with the team, or at least he said he would in the statement his camp released. I would think if he’s burning out on the game altogether, he’d be off by himself dealing with his issues. He’s going to any least try to have a spring training next year.1 point

Down at Ford Field today. This is the most cautiously excited and optimistic I've been for a Lions season since 2015 when I thought like a fool they'd build on the success of 2015. I expect big improvements for our young core this season and hope we see real growth from our rookIe, second, and third year players.1 point

Yep, that was what was known at the time and is consistent with what we know about how Russia "negotiates" more generally. They are not a good faith actor and shouldn't be treated like one. And Zelensky understands that I'm sure.1 point

Show the evidence that the US strong-armed Ukraine into not taking a deal. Otherwise you are again full of crap. This was in the news every day, loudly and clearly and with NO US Influence whatsoever, that: 1) Ukraine kept pushing for negotiations and an end to the war. 2) Russia kept jerking them around because they didn't WANT serious negotiations. Russia had no interest in real negotiations, they wanted to take as much of Ukraine as they thought they could get away with taking and they were confident they could do so. This came out from multiple sources and in multiple instances. There were NO serious negotiations because Russia has not been serious from the start, or at any point. Putin wants as much of Ukraine as he can take, and the rest of Ukraine weakened to a pauper state and disallowed from entering the EU, ever, or NATO. Never allowed to enter the EU? That is NOT a serious offer. or one that Ukraine would ever accept. 3) UKRAINE ended the negotiations after Russian atrocities came to light. This takes no influence from the US whatsoever. Every single country and politician, from the U.K, to Poland, to Germany, to the U.S., EVERYONE has stated loudly and clearly that it is UKRAINE's DECISION on negotiations, and what they are willing to accept. If you have evidence to the contrary, then post it, and don't hide behind a paywall either. Show the evidence. Otherwise, you are full of crap. Again.1 point

Toledo: Wins 10-9 in the 10th but even with that... not really anything interesting player-wise.... Erie: Loses 13-6. Parker 2 for 3 with two doubles and then PH for (I hope he's ok...) with De La Rosa... And Flores got completely rocked with 7 runs in only 1 inning pitched... WM: Loses 5-4. Jobe pitched 5 innings, 1 run on a HR, 2 hits 1 BB, 4 K's... nothing much of interest on offense. Lakeland: Loses 14-1. Nothing of interest on either side of the ball...1 point

Sure. Just like the 'settlement' on the Sudetenland brought peace to Europe. False retcon assumptions. No matter what Putin negotiated he'd have gone to war for more - he just would have started in a stronger position. Unfortunately, the only way Putin's territorial ambitions in Ukraine were going to be ended was going to be on a battlefield. He's been committed to that route since at least 2014. In fact no-one today can look at the criminal outrages perpetrated as policy by Putin's armies and have even a shred of belief that Putin's Russia could have been a reliable negotiating partner.1 point

Tried my hand a BBQ Shotgun shells. Stuffed manicotti shells (Angus Beef, Italian Sausage, Hatch peppers and shredded sharp chedder) wrapped with hickory bacon smoked for three hours and a light glaze of sweet bbq sauce. Turned out better than expected. I had a house full of college kids home for the weekend and they loved it.1 point

Speaking of Pujols here's a fun fact, he currently has an OPS+ of 139, if that stands for the rest of the year that would be the LOWEST he ever put up in a Cardinal uniform yet would be higher than any number he put up in his 10 years in LA.1 point
