  1. I always put TP on the ignore list when the season starts. It cleans up the game threads until people start quoting him.

  2. levi onzuwirke, josh paschal, dj chark, deandre swift, hai vaitai, jonah jackson, amon ra st brown, romeo okwara, john cominsky jameson williams, jerry jacobs, tracy walker. your team has two playmakers on offense and theyre both hurt. youre playing a backup center at guard and a backup tackle at the other guard. your defense stinks and theyre down 1/2 their defensive linemen and their best safety. you still have to win, but come on! the lions are already not the most talented team and to top it off theyre beat to hell. but its dan campbell's fault theyre not "ready to play." a moron sports talk radio caller response. this game sucks, but there's a reason it sucks and that reason is not dan campbell.

  3. 8 mile run followed by sitting in the sunshine. Can’t beat it. Beautiful day to close out another season of games.

  4. So today Anibal Sanchez, Drew Smyly and Max Scherzer all started games, tomorrow Robbie Ray is starting and I believe JV is as well. Just crazy to think 5 of our pitchers from our glory years almost 10 years ago are still pitching in the majors when you consider the attrition rate of starting pitchers.

  5. I can't believe this is the same defense that shut a team out for an entire half.

  6. well, at least i dont have to listen to people rant about how matt stafford isnt a "winner" in games like this where the defense doesnt force one punt.

  7. the aaron glenn honeymoon is over. that said, can we have a defensive end who can contain a running back? how about a linebacker who can fill a hole? or a second cornee who can cover anyone? the seahawks are playing really simple football. when we expect run, rhey play action pass. when we expect pass, they run. that's on glenn as much as anyone.

  9. The lions have never covered the PA bootleg to the TE. It will always be open. It could be 1st and 50 and they would get the first down.

  10. no way Victor Reyes should have only 2 HR in 300 AB.

  11. i cant believe the lions are still in this game. i'm old enough to remember a few pages ago where the usual suspects were saying the lions have quit...

  12. if the lions win this game with THIS team, dan campbell is coach of the fucking year.

  13. I know. I was being facetious but I was agreeing he wasn't as explosive as Swift.

  14. Does Campbell go for an onside here? Considering our kicker it may look like an onside but in reality he just missed the ball by that much.

  15. Line Hockenson out wide and put Campbell in at TE.

  16. honestly, i feel like theyre going to draft another running back at some point. they need playmakers ans swift is ALWAYS hurt.

  17. Oh yeah, the team that looks good in the last month when they are totally out of it? Yippee ! Lets make Ryan Raburn manager, he was always good at that.

  21. There's 32 NFL starting kicking spots for the 8 billion people on this planet and this is the best we can find? There's GOT to be somebody better out there than this.

  23. the lions did exactly what they were supposed to do: they scored a touchdown. some people just find a reason to complain about everything.

  24. can you go be a "fan" of another team? all you do is complain about every single play call. it must be exhausting to be you.

  25. I promise they looked far worse many times in the Patricia era. I am pissed too, but I still have flashbacks of Fatty Matty’s defensive genius.

  26. Anzalone has no business being a starting LB in the NFL. Hard knocks highlighted why we should be concerned with these coaches. They love him and trust him endlessly. He was a bottom 5 LB last year in the NfL.

  27. That's a shame, I always like it when he arrives in a private jet to admonish everyone about the environment.

  28. Yes, the players that have long term success in the majors are not those who never fail, everyone goes through periods of failure and poor performance. Players who sustain success have the ability to make constant competitive adjustments, and the mental capacity to overcome adversity, two qualities that don't readily show up statistically.

  29. It sounds like arthritis. I know we have no right to the information, but I don't really know why he doesn't tell us rahter than having people guess what it is. I get accommodation letters for a lot of students including things like student can decide not to attend class and get extensions for assignments any time they want. It's generally easier to deal with when I know what the problem is. I have one student who has a horrible disease which is causing her to become progressively deaf and blind. So, I go out of my way to do everything I can to help her. Another student has some mysterious unknown problem and just go on faith that there is a legit reason why she misses half her classes and submits all her assignments late. There may be good reason why she doesn't reveal it and it's her right, but it's always easier when I know the situation.

  30. I understand that he had a long career and guys that have long careers are slower at the end than at the beginning. But I’m of the age that recalls Buckner for that little ground ball in the World Series. It’s illogically astounding to me that he was athletic enough to be the LF when Hank Aaron hit #715.

  33. Even though it's a 1 and a trillion chance there is still that chance that he finishes in the top 5 to make the options vest that's why there is a buyout. If you just bought him out with his salary then he would be forgoing that chance of him possibly making an extra 32 million guaranteed in 2024 if that miracle season were to happen, that's the whole reason he put that buyout clause in there to begin with.

  34. Again, he can do that just as easily as a 1B coach as he can as a player. Wave constantly to all the fans, walk over and hobnob with the fans all game when not in the coaches box (not certain if there are less restrictions on coaches versus players where he could get away with that...); yap with each team's 1B'man all game which he would love...

  35. 735 OPS in Sept with a 15% walk rate. He should go to winter ball somewhere. He needs to keep playing.

  36. They still got Chark, Reynolds, Hockenson to catch the ball. Could look for Cephus as well so they aren't completely up shits creek.

  37. Why was it then or not at all? Is it illegal to sign a guy a year from FA or during FA? His stock wasn't going to go up with another great year, his value was at its peak you saved no money by doing it early. You took on all of the risk without taking any sorta discount.

  38. Between Miggy, Victor's second contract and Zimm we spent damn near a half billion dollars for close to or negative WAR. Just a laughably bad ROI.
