If it wasn't for Ben Johnson, we would have scored 70 points. I hope they fire him in the next hour. Why is he SO stupid? 🤣🤣🤣1 point

Yikes dude. I'm sure you would have complained about Bill Walsh in the 80s.1 point

Hey, Jaymo made a couple mistakes today but he played some good TEAM ball making some key blocks. You know the coaches are gonna love that!1 point

That double flea flicker… such a joke of a play. If they had done three more tosses LaPorta would have been way more open.1 point

The offense only has 28 first half points, if they had a better offensive coordinator that didn't run on 2nd downs they'd have atleast 40. #FIREBENJOHNSON1 point

There is a point when to get excited and if you do it all the time, not only is it annoying but it doesn't describe the game. One thing I have always appreciated about Dan Dickerson is his general excitement when someone from the other team does somethin exciting too. That's pretty important actually and a lot of broadcasters weren't crediting the other teams impressive feats.1 point

There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of a Paxlovid binge.1 point

OTOH, he'd been playing high level sports for a long time before it hit so something changed for him. It's tempting to say whatever changed should be able to be changed back, but not always how it works.....1 point

Because he was just talking to you about baseball, he wasn't trying to sell you anything and that's why Dirks is so good. Just talks baseball..........that's all we want. C-Mo is unlistenable. Just stop trying to cheerlead..........do it when it's the right time. That's one thing Rod had down (Ohhh Jackson!). I know they'll use Gibby part of the time and I don't mind that, but you can tell that those Parkinson's meds are draining him and I hate hearing him struggle. Petry's alright. Maybin is alright and sounds better now than he did the first few times I heard him nationally. Jonesy is interesting. Not polished, but it works, but it wouldn't work 160 times. We don't even know who's gonna carry them next year. Bally's is going to survive another year?1 point

I only listened to him for 1 game but I thought Alex Avila was good the time I heard him with Dan a couple seasons ago.1 point

I bet Granderson doesn't want to deal with the grind. That's a tougher and tougher sell, which is why the full-time analyst is increasingly a thing of the past. Hopefully they can get 15-20 games or so out of him, but I do know he has TBS duties and charity obligations.1 point

while I love the 84 guys I'd like to see them move on from those guys. I really like Dirks a get for the Tigers would be to get Grandy as the full time Color guy on TV.. He's was on this last season for an inning and he just blew CMo and Shep out of the booth.1 point

They have him - his name is Andy Dirks. If they can't see that it's everyone's loss.1 point

Compared to the previous four weeks, I'd say yes we will.1 point

To me the thing with Monroe is that I know he could be better than he is. He forces things when he is in the booth, and there is always too much force or tension or growl in his voice. He'd be much better if he'd lose that and just be normal. That and his basic game breakdown sucks. I'm close to catatonic with the number of times he has told me that a guy who has absolutely zero intention to is going to try to 'use the big part of the field'.1 point

If they are bringing CMo back there was no point getting rid of Shep. They could bring in the best PBP guy in the world but the rest of them are going to drag the broadcast down. Either elevate your whole game or don't bother. It's like firing the manager and expecting the mediocre team to improve.1 point

Bring in Tito Francona to do color. He would be absolutely fantastic (I am guessing he'll have a national TV studio gig).1 point

About as surprising as the Sun rising in the East. If we can assume Harris is generally going to demand a higher level of performance/accountability than Al did, there was no way that broadcast was not going to be re-constituted.1 point
-
To me, it was a really bad sign when the games where CMo, Todd Jones and Petry covered the games without a PBP announcer ended up more entertaining than a typical broadcast. With a better PBP announcer, that wouldn't be the case....1 point

when you have good TV and radio guys, they become part of the fabric of the team's identity - Harwell, Dickerson, Kell, Kaline. the Bally broadcast is just awful - seems aimed at casual fans with lots of things to distract from the actual game at least they tried a lot of guys this year, so that's good1 point

And the story was that Hank then threatened to steal home, and Tony Cuccinello, the third base coach, says to him, “Hank, it took you 13 years to get here, so don’t fool around!”1 point
