  1. I gave my family October through almost all of March. I’ll report back to them again in (hopefully very late) October.

  2. It’s borderline offensive to conflate a woman exercising her Constitution right to protest while having a baby in a jumper on her back as being a human shield, with the idea of terrorists actually using babies as actual shields and putting them in a position to be killed in order to protect themselves. Believe it or not, they are not even close to being the same.

  6. I live in metro Detroit and cutting the cord on cable meant buying the Bally subscription for the Wings, Pistons and Tigers. The user interface is really horrible, hurry up Amazon!! On a side note, Thank You for your work on the Tiger GDTs. Just to let you know, it's appreciated!

  7. Our record against the AL East last season cost us any chance of competing. It was very dismal. Our record against the Central gives us hope for a better season this year. The only thing that can hurt us is more injuries. Greene needs to stay healthy all season. And our SP depth may allow a couple of injuries but not our entire staff, along with Toledo's staff, like the last couple (few) years.

  8. Since this site started as a baseball site and today's Opening Day, let's all collectively chill and enjoy Tigers baseball today. I'm asking everyone, myself included, to tone it down. I don't know precisely what that means but I think we're all friends in some way and like each other.

  9. While the numbers may not have shown it I did feel like he looked alot better as a true WR the last month or so of the season including the playoffs. By that I mean he didn't just run go routes to the pylon, he was actually running a variety of different routes and making some impressive catches where he came back for the ball. Im hoping it's a sign of him growing as a receiver and showing that he can be more than just a deep threat or gadget guy.

  12. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!! ♫ It's the most wonderful time of the year ♫ What a great day for baseball, no matter the weather. 28 teams are contenders. 28 fanbases still believe this can be a magical Summer.

  13. I love that the season is starting, and especially this season, when there is so much more hope for the sustainable future of this franchise than at any other time in my lifetime. I don't love that the season is starting on a Thursday. I believe baseball season should start on a Monday and end on a Sunday. That Monday should be a practical national holiday. They can make it happen by adding three off days to the season, which the players should like and the fans wouldn't mind so much. This year, they could have started it on April 1, and ended it on October 6. I love least of all that Opening Day is on Sweet Sixteen Thursday, and that the sports world will be focused on basketball instead of baseball. Again, Opening Day should be basically a national holiday, but at the very least, baseball should have the whole day to itself. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, Manfred.

  17. I’ve said a lot of things about Baby Doc over the years, and I have softened up on him since he’s now presiding over the organization’s directional shift, but I now have a heightened level of respect for the guy for sitting in the stands with the people in an enemy ballpark in high 40s temperature in March, instead of in a luxury box.

  21. I agree that there are scummy, anti-Semitic people on the left who are using this conflict as a means to end the State of Israel. These same people wouldn't themselves want to live under the rule of Hamas or the PLO. They wouldn't support the way Hamas treats LGBTQ individuals nor the fact that Hamas doesn't allow for reproductive freedom or abortion rights. I think there are people on the left who shamefully conflate Hamas with being some sort of freedom fighting group and that is unequivocally wrong. Hamas as a political entity and as an operating organization is both barbaric and oppressive towards its own people and the people of Israel. It's also wrong to try in anyway to deny or justify the terrorist attacks on October 7th. There are people on the left who do and defend some or all of this and that is very concerning itself. I don't ever believe that violence should beget violence. So anyone on the left using violence or intimidation as a tactic to protest Israeli actions, Jewish people, Jewish historical and holy sites, is flat out disgusting and wrong. Defaming or minimalizing the horrific legacy of the holocaust in any way, shape, or form is also disgusting and disgraceful. So I am angry, disheartened, and deeply sadden to see videos like what MB shared where holocaust survivors are being bullied, harassed, and intimated. That said, Israel wants to have the best of both worlds too. Jewish Trump wants to sit here and play the victim and use the October 7th terrorist attacks as a license to attack Hamas, Gaza, and Palestinian people with little restraint. He wants to use it as an excuse to rule Palestinians with an iron fist and not allow their own independent statehood. He and is Likud regime also want you to accept or outright ignore the years of Israeli settler violence and the violent, oppressive occupation and apartheid that has been occurring in Gaza long before October 7th. Furthermore, I see liberals and center-left types defending Israel and trying to separate the argument of supporting Israel from supporting its current regime. They are one and the same and cannot be separated. Weather we want to admit it or not, Israel is not much of a true, liberal democracy anymore. It sucks to say that, but the Likud majority, led by Jewish Trump, is in the process of dismantling democracy in Israel and itself using violence and corrupting the political process to hold onto power. With Jewish Trump at the helm, they are quickly trending towards where Hungary is now under Viktor Orban and are increasingly becoming an illiberal democracy. So when I see people saying that we need to stand up for the Middle East's only democratic government, I ask which government that is. Because standing up for Israel, as it is now, is not standing up for democracy. Until Netanyahu is gone and their political system can sort itself back out and get on a different path, there isn't much of a democracy to defend anymore. I am troubled by many people and events on both sides of this issue.

  22. If the Tigers win they are winning the division, if they lose they are finishing in last place so needless to say this is a MUST WIN!

  23. That's the thing. They can't repeat the last 3 years. Even if they had a tough schedule 9-24, 9-23, 2-9. Can't do that anymore. Then I start to question whether Hinch is the right guy. Can't be out of it by May 15th again. Just can't. Winning a bunch when there is nothing to play for is just empty calories.

  28. This is actually a problem for the NBA product, imo. There's only one way to play and since defense has also been regulated against, the game is very one dimensional now. Maybe it's bringing them more casual fans and that's working for them so they don't care, but it's kind of made things a bit boring once you get past the superficial layer of hype.

  30. Javy has gone 4-for-4 exactly three times in his 1,142-game career. I don't know what the expected number of 4-for-4s would be by a guy who's played that many games, but at first blush, it seems low.

  35. You are routinely conflating "leftists" with being 100% death-to-Israel, or at least as not being as performatively pro-Israel as you are being. I assume you regard me as a "leftist", seeing how that's a pejorative to you. Anyhow, bad analogy. MAGA is not nobody. MAGA is Donald Trump and tens of millions of followers, many of whom are well-known to be armed to the teeth and itching for a fight. I have no idea who the **** these people in the prior page are, but when I start seeing them and others like them perpetrate murder in the name of Free Palenstine—or whatever it's called—here on American soil, then I will consider lighting my own hair on fire in solidarity with yours.

  38. Keon Coleman doesn't pass the turd test. Brian Thomas is the guy I'm thinking of but Brad might have to trade up for him but it's Holmes, I could see him taking somebody none of us predicted at 29 and that's at the oft chance that he actually stays at 29.

  39. My summer plan. I go all in on the Bridges. Ivey, Duren and picks for Mikal. Sign Miles (I know I know) in free agency. Then sign Nic Claxton in free agency. Any money left goes for a veteran off the bench Starters are Cade, Bridges, Bridges, Fontecchio, Claxton. Four of those guys should shoot north of 35% from three. I think three of them could average over 20 points a game. Claxton gives you everything Duren provides on offense and is an elite shot blocker plus a candidate for all defensive team. Sasser, Thompson, Stewart, free agent is a respectable bench. That team makes the playoffs IMO. Obviously there are some issues. Trading for Bridges won't be easy. I don't want to pay Claxton more than $20m a year and I think he will cost more. You have to look past the other Bridges beating the **** out of his wife. Eh, we're more likely to end up with Todd Bridges.
