First rule of warfare is that you can't start one and then complain you get back worse than you gave. Not the way it works in the real world.4 points

Man… i know why they moved it but that screws me up. I was picked to be fan of the game and would have had great seats. The whole family was going. Now nobody can go, I possibly could. By myself as fan of the game!3 points

Ryan Pepiot, the Butler University all-time strikeout leader, is treating our lineup like we’re Valparaiso.2 points

i have no love for the artists formerly known as the redskins, but jayden daniels becoming patrick mahomes and caleb williams becoming justin fields would be pretty damn awesome.2 points

People like him are not capable of thinking beyond their own personal needs and thus assume everyone else is that way as well.2 points

I don't know if it's that simple. For some, absolutely. But I think it's more complicated than that. I know that most of them don't *think* they are racist. It will also end any conversation if that's where it starts. Fear coupled with the perception that someone else is getting something for *free* when they worked hard is something that resonates with many. Yesterday's welfare Moms and gays are today's illegals and transsexuals. When you can pick and choose the news that will reinforce your fears and perceived economic unfairness, it only adds fuel to the fire.2 points

Against the WSox when we're winning 9-2? The whole BP is rested and using a young inexperience kid could destroy our entire season. We need to win every single game.1 point

I'm hoping this is Skubal's last regular season start. Keep winning, clinch by Saturday, rest Skubal Sunday and have him ready for the wildcard round. Is that too much to ask?1 point

I have the exact opposite view. This isn’t about giving him a little look to help his development. They think he can help them now. Let him pitch and hope that he can become a valuable bullpen piece the rest of the way. That means going into to close ballgames and showing his stuff. Also the lineup that he’ll be facing this weekend is probably worse than the ones he was seeing in Toledo.1 point

Are we really so hard up for sports related procedural drama that we want the NFL to establish a parallel legal system? It is already embarrassing that we can’t watch a game anymore without a lawyer in the booth Cam Sutton was evading a warrant that was issued for his arrest. He had thumbed his nose at the legal system so it makes sense that the NFL acted before the legal system resolved his issue. Rashee Rice appears to be operating within the legal system. Let it work then the NFL can act.1 point

I am not too surprised. I figured when they promoted him to Toledo, there was a decent chance they would call him up for a start if they were still in the race.1 point

Baseball America put out a short podcast this afternoon on Jobe. They were gushing about him, but at the end, the host (Scott Braun, so not one of the two BA guys on the call) went on and on about how this has been a disappointing year for the Tigers but this is a positive step for next year. Why do I get the feeling that segment has been in the can since August?1 point

I'm normally an indie, folk, country guy but I have been listening to a lot of heavy rock lately. Blacktop Mojo does an amazing job covering Aerosmith's Dream On. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qF9dCWmq3pM1 point

Did you know that the Detroit Tigers almost moved to Pittsburg spelled without an H, Pennsylvania in time for the 1903 season? They had the plan and they thought they had the money fronted for it and everything, until the money part fell apart at the last minute. Why on earth would the Tigers have left Detroit to become a possible second-banana team in Pittsburg? It was because Ban Johnson's idea was to directly challenge the National League in as many cities as possible. That's why the Milwaukee franchise moved to St. Louis for the 1902 season; and also why when the Baltimore franchise shut its doors after the 1902 campiagn, it was reconstituted as the New York Highlanders for 1903 instead of restarting as another iteration of the Orioles. Plus, at the time, Pittsburg, including the city of Allegheny which they annexed in 1907, was a bustling steel and iron metropolis of almost half a million people, whereas Detroit was basically a horse-and-buggy manufacturing town of less than 300,000, and since horse-and-buggies were going the way of the horse-and-buggy, why keep a major league team in such a minor league horse town? Why, that would be asinine—might as well put teams back in Troy and Altoona while you’re at it, amirite? So, Detroit came thisclose from becoming a minor league city with an American Association or International League team for who knows how long?1 point
