To be honest, at the risk of eliciting the disrespect of my peers, I didn’t follow game #2 very long and only checked in occasionally until the very end to witness Carpenter’s utterly unbelievable three-run home run which came at the end of a game marked most of the way by a tedious futility in which defeat seemed certain to me. The angst was too much for me. Instead, I spent $29.99 at Amazon to purchase then watch Deadpool & Wolverine which I’ve already seen three times at the theater to follow the rapid-fire dialogue on CC I’d previously missed. At the beginning of the film, as a result, I paused it to look up the word “pegging” which I urge none of you to search if you’re at work. GO TIGERS!!!

Strangely, I feel no anxiety about the games at all. It's a great story regardless of the outcome. I get all the enjoyment and none of the anxiety.

I saw a cyber truck in the wild for the first time today. It’s even more hideous in person. Why would anyone want to be seen in one of those? It’s like a PT Cruiser for rich people, but much more cringe.

Skubal side note, in his last 7 starts dating back to August he has gone 45IP giving up 5 runs TOTAL with a remarkable 49 to 3 K:BB ratio. In 6 of those 7 starts he has given up 4 base runners or less. Going back to his last 11 starts he has given up 1 run or fewer in 9 of them(2 and 3 in the other 2). Just an absolute monster run right when the Tigers needed it the most.

Yeah, he was never highly rated, but he did put up some good numbers. The boxscore watchers were right this time. He was a 19th rounder out of Virginia Tech. Briam Bluhm would have loved him.

That makes me sad. He was one of my all-time favorite pitchers. I used to imitate him as a pitcher in Little League. It wasn't even on purpose.

If Glenn gets a head coaching job, which I think is a real possibility, Saleh would be a front runner for the defensive coordinator job.

What a game. What a team. The tension building until carpenters blast. Unreal.

A lot of us were at that game, but I think the number of folks to have been at that one plus last night’s game are few and far between. Pretty cool for you. Not surprisingly, that game/moment is being compared to last night by the local radio team and their callers this morning. It’s perfect radio fodder, because I really do think it’s a close call if you were forced to rank them. A home run in the ALCS to clinch a World Series spot carries a lot of weight. But it was also in the bottom of the ninth where a single would also have been enough. And the tigers were leading the series 3-0 at the time. Without it, worst case is a 3-1 series lead. Kerry’s 3-run shot in the top of the 9th effectively sealed the game and a 1-1 series. But it’s still only the ALDS. A single would have given a 1-0 lead, and still left the result up in the air. Without it, worst case is a 0-2 series and season on life support. Hard to say!

Might as well take the series lead and put Cleveland on the ropes.

Whatever it was called live is what was going to stand. I think it’s atrocious for an umpire to say that a ball that the naked eye can clearly see bounce bounced off of a small strip of fast moving leather as opposed to the ground though. He’s just blindly guessing at that point.

Funny you should mention this as for the last two days the SO has been getting somebody's itinerary texts about airport arrivals etc, all from a wrong number. I hope there isn't a guy somewhere still waiting to be picked up! 🤷‍♀️

If days of rest were not an issue, I would have pitched Skubal in game 1. The sooner they win this series, the more days rest he gets before his first start in the third round of the playoffs. Keep pitching him as early as possible in each series and you might end up with an extra start out of him by the end of the World Series.

That traffic on I-280 is hellish.

Bankrupting the Federal government to create a crisis that would result in reduction of entitlements that are too unpopular to pass by other means has been a keystone GOP objective for 40 years. It just is. It's just silly or some kind of fantasy to ignore it. The party has been perfectly clear about it. You raised concern about the deficit, that is the fact of the deficit. You can call it partisan if you like, but that's reality and reality is what it is.

I guess it fits here, but I came home from a week long trip working at Gen Con and our neighbors across the street have apparently started building a.......pyramid in their front yard??? Doesn't seem like it should be legal to me, I'm so confused over it haha.
