It's another reason why playoffs are pretty meaningless to me. Taking 4 days off in between series is not the way baseball is supposed to be.2 points

Had a brief chat wit one of my sisters today. During the conversation she asked how I was voting, she's a two time Trump voter but just can't vote that way this time (says he's too crazy), she's on the fence about Harris. At the same time she doesn't want to vote third party or write in someone. I usually don't give family voting advice but told her that we'd get 4 years of what we had from Trump or worse if he's elected with a Republican Congress. Harris could facing the same mixed opposition (stalemate) so the Democratic things you might oppose may not pass. But it won't be the crazy guy in the White House. I also told her to look at the number of truly conservative Republicans and former members of his last administration who now support Harris. It wasn't a long conversation but I feel like I've got her thinking2 points

Don’t they owe Jamo two games anyway? His gambling that got him suspended six games (later reduced to four) is now just a two-game suspension. They should just call it even.2 points

I guess I'm missing something. Slotkin wasn't on a state-wide ballot in 2020. This is an open seat.1 point

This reminds me of the book I'm currently reading "Nexus" (Yuval Harari). One of his primary premises is that we have to get over the fallacy that good information has any tendency to 'float to the top' or drive our bad as is commonly assumed, it won't and it doesn't.1 point

I knew many Trump-Slotkin voters. I say knew because they are all straight Republican ticket voters now. They want Trump's agenda carried out without question and have come to the understanding - after him running for the third time - that the Republicans need to have the House and Senate as well. What kind of person is this? I asked and here is their answer: Yes, we understand Trump may institute death camps. Yes, we - the Trump voters - may get "get caught up in it is well." The rationalization is that the "others" - blacks, gays, trans, foreigners - whomever the "outgroup" may be - will be put to death at a greater number. This is the thought process that the Trump voters I know use to justifying voting for Trump. It is a cult.1 point

My only theory (probably true to an extent) is that there's voters who will vote for Trump and then leave the rest of the ticket blank, resulting in undervotes for the other candidates. North Carolina could be a candidate for that this year too, with Mark Robinson being the Gov candidate. Not sure how that gets captured in polling though....1 point

Thursday night, the Vikings are at the Rams so I propose Stafford and Darnold switch locker rooms after a halftime trade1 point

Skubal had never thrown more than 150 innings at the big league level, back in ‘21. He only pitched 80 last season. This year, including the postseason, he had 211 IP. And those were max effort. Pretty big jump and impressive that he didn’t show any degradation.1 point

Bruce Bowen was fired to make way for Williams. Both have a kid that plays there along with Tim Duncan's kid.1 point

Texas is a lot like Georgia was in 2020. Keep in mind, Hillary spent time in states like Georgia and Arizona to much criticism that ended up flipping the next election. You have to lay the groundwork in Texas now. When the 2030 census comes around, Texas is going to pick up a lot of electoral votes and big blue states like California, Illinois and New York stand to lose. You can’t wait until then to try. Biden got the margin down to 5. It was 9 with Clinton. It’s moving in the right direction. If Harris even gets it down to 2-3, it will be a swing state in 2028.1 point

i cant wait for the pistons theme song, coupled with a hype video featuring Tom Gores shooting t shirts into the stands, Tom Gores walking the sidelines, and Tom Gores doing charity projects.1 point

I think it's simpler than that. They make a lot of money and they don't want to pay higher marginal tax rates anymore than investment bankers with money do.1 point

We definitely had fun-even though we were broke we'd either pool our money together or find free stuff to do. I can't imagine doing that work, and living on $6 an hour now.1 point

If I wasn't a season ticket holder, I'd probably be right there with you. I like being able to mix it up throughout the season, having a couple night games and Mondays mixed in. I have my 1pm kick routine that I love, but it's nice to mix it up over the course of a season. For that matter, every road game could be a 1 or 4 kick and I'd be good with that.1 point

We have a ring camera at the front door. I like it because it takes snapshots of anyone walking up. We also have the screw in lightbulb style cameras. These are nice as they can be manually rotated 180 degrees via the app. We have one that pans the wood line of the forrest behind the house and one on the pole barn looking down the driveway. With ring doorbell I have maybe $160 in all the cameras.1 point

Unfortunately A$$holes are everywhere and to think our fans don't have them is naive. I remember Cleveland Cav fans after they finally beat us in a playoff game in a bus outside of the palace screaming F Detroit (the whole bus for about 10 mins) with kids everywhere. I wish our fans would behave although its going to happen.1 point

They mail everyone a mail-in ballot in Nevada. We fill ours out and drop them at our polling place. Best of both worlds for us.1 point

All cities and townships in Michigan have what's called the Permanent Absentee Voter List that you as a voter can sign up for. If you check a box on your absentee ballot application form (not the ballot itself, just the application form) to be enrolled in the Permanent AV List then your local clerk's office will just mail you out the ballot for each and every election. That saves you from having to request your absentee ballot each and every time there is an election. So to make it easy for yourself and everyone in your house, simply check the box on your absentee ballot request form next time that says you want to be enrolled on the Permanent AV List.1 point

Once you leave the pocket and run you should no longer be treated as a QB, if any non QB is a hair out of bounds and gets hit there rarely is a flag called but if its a QB there either always is or it causes an uproar that one wasn't called.1 point

Screw the fry machine. Let him try some real work, something like the evening closing crew. Make it look real like have a high school football team show up ten minutes before closing. Then he and the rest of the "fast food workers don't deserve more than minimum wage" folks find out what real work is.1 point

Somehow Goff isn’t in the top 5 and Branch is an all pro. Can you believe the Packers helped the Lions draft Branch when they needed a safety?1 point

This is not magic! This is what is wrong with the game. Total BS that he’s gaming the rules the league created for the sole purpose of protecting him. This play needs to banned immediately in the same way as the fake slide.1 point

He's a little undersized for as hard as he throws, I don't know what the prevailing theories are on that anymore. Looking at his record he's made 21, 25, 28, and 22 starts over the last 4 yrs. He's a regular Cal Ripken compared to Mize or Manning!1 point

Unhinged? No my friend... DVR is the best thing to happen to football since the forward pass. I get an hour of my day back and I don't have to watch ads? Sign me up. Also after the other team gets a lucky play in and goes for a TD...? You know that part where the announcers gush over how wonderful the play was and how they schooled the Lions and replay it 3 or 4 times? Yeah, I get to fast forward over that too.1 point

My gut tells me you are correct but that’s not based on any data. Just what I see in terms of enthusiasm and all that. But I had those feelings in 2012 thinking Romney would win. I don’t trust myself. At game 4 of the ALDS, I’m not making this up, my friend texted me in the 7th asking if I was there. When I said yes he told me he thought they would do it. I replied “me too” and not a minute later Frye hit a 2 run HR. I don’t like it when I think something is going to turn out. I’m usually wrong.0 points

Interesting. The NFL just flexed Jaguars at Eagles out of SNF in 2 weeks and replaced it with Vikings at Colts instead of Lions at Packers. Odd.0 points
