Who gives a ****... Pete Hegseth should be judged on Pete Hegseth's record. And his record reflects that he would have trouble keeping a job at the local Applebees, let alone the Pentagon.5 points

I am absolutely incredulous reading/listening to this “argument”. Are you ****ing Kidding me? how many of you Motown bombers here show up drunk for work? How many of you cheat on your wife or your husband? Well, hey Mr. Mark, Wayne Mr. Mark, Wayne Whalen, Mr. Marc mean Wollen Mullen…. uh, you know who you are…. The answer out here in the normal world is “not many.” Not many and to make it sound like this is the norm is not only ridiculous. It’s shameful and these are supposed to be the leaders of our society who ever gently although they should be held to a higher standard seem to be held to absolutely no ****ing standard. so characterizing that dribble pouring out of his mouth as he sit behind a microphone as “very well said“ may be the stupidest thing I’ve read here in a while. No it’s not very well. Said it’s it’s rather awful. so we have this to look forward to. The fox couch potato, who has never managed a budget in his life, who has never managed military personnel, who other than serving for the time that he did didn’t continue his education and his job expansion in the military…… This is who you want to put in charge of all of it ? So every woman, or immigrant man or woman who is a member of the military, this is a person who will inspire them? It sounds like a bad Goldie Hawn movie premise….. Throw in Gomer Pyle, too.4 points

I made $1.60 an hour minimum wage for a summer job in 1969 when I worked at the newspaper plant in my small town of Auburn Indiana. It was hot and dangerous work. And no, I didn’t love it or feel grateful for it. I melted down the Linotype cold type used on printing presses into 50 lb. bars that could then be fed back into the Linotypes. (by the next year they switched to offset printing in these machines were eliminated). It was one of the few times in my life when I was really ripped after lifting those bars all day long all summer long.2 points

I will actually be in DC Sunday-Saturday! My daughter is the Chicago college chapter president of the Right for Life. She will be a special guest of Indiana Senator Jim Banks at the Starlight ball Monday night (our home district) and I get to be her plus one. So proud of her and what she stands for. You should see some of the crazy protesters that show up to the march, it will be my fith one attending.2 points

No doubt. But I think you can make a connection between the left's embrace of AITF as a platform for liberalism being a missed or at least incomplete understanding, with today's liberal misunderstanding of the Trump voter. Archie may have lost the script battles in ATIF, but he was exactly the early representation of and hero to the white male frustrated by a culture that was leaving him behind regardless of whether he was winning or losing, and the conservative viewer identified with his sense of frustration and even with his losses in those cultural battles. Archie was still the 'sane' one among all the nutty people, and that's what the left viewpoint viewer misses when they think about what the show signified to its non-left leaning viewers. And I think Lear knew this perfectly well. He was first and foremost trying to create a popular show and if he could bask in the approval of his Hollywood cohort while still winking to the silent majority that yes, they were correct, left was ditzy, he was happy to do it -- and bank the proceeds.2 points

Maybe it will turn out better for the Lions as well. Did not want to play the same team twice in 2 weeks even if we did win going away.1 point

a lot of shows might ben more fondly remembered if they had stuck to the original arc and wrapped it up when it made sense instead of retconning plot extensions - but too much money on the table. I'm actually quite surprised they didn't engineer a miracle remission for Walter White.1 point

1) Doug Emhoff was neither running for office or trying to be confirmed to lead one of the largest federal bureaucracies 2) If he was, Holic's guy Markwayne would undoubtedly find his morals again and be singing from a different song book. So spare me the 'hypocrisy' horse****1 point

I'd love to be 21 again. But with the knowledge about life I have now. Tell ya what, I wouldn't put up with the crap I did the first go round. When people show you who they are - believe them, and run away.1 point

What happened with Lost is that they put it together, initially for either one or three seasons. Then it got wildly popular and they didn't know how to fill the extra seasons, so we got the Nikki & Paulo episode.1 point

On MLB yesterday when I clicked on it and scanned the words “return” and “Flaherty” adjacent to each other I gasped thinking “Oh my God they pulled the trigger on something big and surprising and re-signed Flaherty! They’ve become BIG SPENDAHS!” No, they didn’t. It’s not like I ever wanted or expected them to. But I guess I learned that I harbor some of that “Evelyn Wood Speed Reading“ technique inside me where you grasp an entire paragraph at a glance instead of reading word for word.1 point

😱😱😱 I've lived through every year of WCF's reign, which long ago forced me into a very Zen state about the Lions (about all sports teams really). Expectations have been extinguished so thoroughly I never visualize the future, only accept the "What Is". On the plus side, that means this is all gravy. Seriously though, at this point you aren't playing any bad teams. You have to enjoy it for as long as the ride lasts.1 point

Well you can't, so you have to live with it. Live with your pain. Learn to love your pain. Your pain is your only friend. Your pain will never leave you. BWAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA I can't not predict the Lions to win because I am a lifer and I know what happens when I expect things. So, prove me wrong, Dan and Jared and Ben and Z and Knuckles and Sonic and Jaymo and Upside Down Guy. Just me and my pain. Together. Ready for the gut punch.1 point

We’re signing Jose Ramirez! 53. Jose Ramirez, C/OF, Venezuela (Tigers) Athletic enough for catcher and cf. high baseball IQ, good swing decisions, uses whole field. And these are ranked by projected signing bonus. So Rodriguez is projected to sign for the 4th most $ 61. Carlos Benavides, C, Venezuela advanced catch-and-throw skills for his age. …..Benavides is a righthanded hitter with a line-drive approach and doubles power.1 point

I don’t know that I’d say they’re down on him as much as I’d say they’re really high on McGonigle—and deservedly so with those K/BB numbers. Clark struggled a little bit with the jump to WM but was still pretty good. McGonigle could climb the ladder real quick1 point

Jaden Hamm must have been knocking on the door. He made BA's list. The list gives us a complete infield including catcher, a starting pitcher and CF.1 point

I would say that life isn’t fair sometimes and we should be empathetic to what trans people go thru. Part of being an athlete and competitor is having to go up against people with advantages over you. Many of those are not the result of hard work and practice, etc but because of genes and biology and perhaps coming from a family that can provide better nutrition and training. That’s part of life lessons. I didn’t play basketball for my middle school but my friends did and they had to play against Chris Webber who was at least 6’5” and looked 20 years old when we were 12 and 13 and maybe 5’9” and chubby with leftover baby fat. Is that more fair than if our girls squad had to play against a trans person who could have had physical advantages? Why does gender alone make it ok? when I hear parents scream about this issue it makes me curious to know how they feel about participation trophies because their beef sounds very similar. They want to pave the way for their baby girls to make things as easy as possible.1 point
