I would be shocked to see Alex sign a short-term deal with us (or rely on an early opt-out). Boras and Co seem very analytical and would factor in his performance last season and career stats at Comerica and realize it would be risky for Bregman to improve his stock in Detroit for a better contract. Fenway or Wrigley would be more desirable to achieve that..3 points

Per Twitter, the vote was put up without notice and per Khanna, several folks missed it. He claims he would have voted yes and on Twitter urged Elon to discuss with him.2 points

Worst case. We sent nothing out for two 2nd round picks and a guy we cut this summer when his deal is not guaranteed. Best case. We use him as bait in a larger deal. Good deal either way.2 points

Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again, into the silent water Under the rocks and stones, there is water underground Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground Into the blue again, after the money's gone Once in a lifetime, water flowing underground Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, look where my hand was Time isn't holding up, time isn't after us Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was Same as it ever was, same as it ever was (I couldn't get no rest) Same as it ever was, hey let's all twist our thumbs Here comes the twister Letting the days go by (same as it ever was, same as it ever was) Letting the days go by (same as it ever was, same as it ever was) Once in a lifetime, let the water hold me down Letting the days go by, water flowing underground.1 point

Sam Vecenie was on Locked On Pistons. He said if Detroit is the 6th seed then Cade is a lock for all NBA. He said even finishing in the 7th or 8th slot he will have a good shot.1 point

Assuming the Martin deal goes through and he sticks. Between now and 2031 the Pistons send out 4 of their own 2nd round picks. They bring in 11 other 2nd round picks from other teams. So they end up +7 in 2nd round picks for the next 7 years.1 point

yeah, Musk isn't gong to last long. He is taking much attention away from Trump.1 point

I am expecting him to get a 6-year deal someplace which I don't think is out of line with contracts other players are getting. I suspect he has gotten that kind of offer from multiple teams, but wants more. I have very little hope the Tigers can get him on a short-term deal.1 point

5 FEBRUARY 1775, LONDON: “I cannot but lament with you the impending Calamities Britain and her Colonies are about to suffer, from great Imprudencies on both Sides,” Benjamin Franklin writes to his friend Joseph Galloway in Philadelphia. buff.ly/3PnJUPO Those arising there, are more in your View; these here, which I assure you are very great, in mine. Passion governs, and she never governs wisely. What we can’t remedy we must endeavour to bear. … “I have however generally strong Hopes amounting almost to an Assurance, that tho’ we may suffer much for a while, America will finaly be greatly benefited by her present Difficulties, and rise superior to them all.”1 point

As a side note, the NBA and the Players Union have made a complete mockery of the salary cap system. You need a team of quants to fully understand how every last piece works. It’s way too complicated for 99% of fans to really comprehend.1 point

Basically the trade for Martin is agreed to. They wont file it with the league until tomorrow at the deadline so their options remain open.1 point

i think a lot of us owe steve yzerman an apology (except for the pro scouting department, they still suck). making the playoffs this year puts them ahead of schedule, imo. seider/raymond shouldnt even be in their primes yet... and lucas raymond might need a new agent.1 point

Can’t complain about a sweep on the road trip. It does bear watching though that we are starting to rack up overtime wins. And my recollection from last year is that regulation wins vs overtime wins is one of the tiebreakers.1 point

YEah that's one of my favorite random stats. Another is Musial having the exact same number of hits at home and on the road. Also the longest hit streak among all Yankee and Red Sox players is of course Joe Dimaggio at 56, the 2nd longest is also Dimaggio but not Joe but his brother Dom who had a 34 game hit streak. Oddly enough Dom's hit streak ended when he went 0-5 against the Yankees with his last at bat being a fly ball to Joe.1 point

Wings-Kraken are tied at 1 midway through the 1st. With Tampa and Boston winning and Florida losing earlier tonight, there is a chance for the Wings to pull within 6 points of the division lead with a win and for the top 6 teams in the Atlantic to be separated by only 7 points.1 point

Like $10 million a year, and at least one year of that was paid after he retired for health reasons. I still am bitter at the man who showed up his two Tiger seasons fat and then when he's traded to Texas he comes to spring training all in shape. Like he couldn't do that for Mr. Ilitch's money.1 point

You know what's funny about that? Apparently, I was the only one in America who thought the Lions were going to lose. It was such an obvious call (to me) that I didn't even bother posting it. Unfortunately, Federal employees can't go on strike but since there are no longer any laws - go for it!1 point

Urban deer. The 'local herd' that makes its trip down the block every night at 6pm is now up to 10 adults. Mind you I live in the city - about a mile and a quarter from City Hall. They may be scenic but the novelty wears off after they've eaten all the flora in the neighborhood they can reach.1 point
