  1. bsky vs. twitter. I wish more people would make the move. Enough Tigers beat guys have that I can get what I need in the special group of them I've created. Still waiting on the Evans. Bluesky is 100% chronological and user chosen. No algorithm pushing stuff. I'm keeping my Twitter for the stragglers, but if you see, almost every tweet I have posted since 1/20 has included a jab at its piece of **** owner. I suspect the blue checkmarks don't want to move and lose that paycheck. My golf follows, understandably, are slow to move.

  2. My adult daughter has multiple needs. She's deaf, struggles with spectrum issues, disabled. She is able to enjoy a level of independent living through Medicare and SNAP. This is a life we cannot provide her; it would break us within a year. The difference is that our daughter has a family to care about her; too many of her peers' families have long ago forsaken them. As parents we fully apppreciate the expense Medicaid provides. Any waste or fraud only takes from those who most need the aid. This is not how to make a system better. This is pulling the plug - literally, for some - on life support. The question is not what sort of political move this is. The question is whether this is the sort of society we aspire to be. Some argue Medicaid isn't a right. But it is the right thing to do.

  4. ummm.. the January increase (0.5%) was more than the December increase (0.4%). The interesting question is whether Trump will be more worried about inflation or more dedicated to tariffs. In the current environment he can't be both because tariff's are a direct add-on to prices. Even if he were to get onshoring (which he won't without investment support) it will still be at the higher price level.

  9. He plays a lot of blues-oriented stuff and they are trying to reach more people. We are a Triple A station and our station plays Zach Bryan but I don't think our country station plays him. Zach fights the Country Music Machine so they don't play him as much as they should and he is proving he doesn't need them. His new single sounds more like Lumineers than a country song.

  12. That was a fun game last night. I haven't seen a defensive beatdown like that since the Going to Work days. At the beginning of the season JB said that we would tune in to this team in February and be able to say, "That's Piston basketball." He wasn't lying. That was Piston basketball. Monty's total fail makes it a tough comparison, but to be where they are now after last season JB clearly has this team playing greater than the sum of their parts. First Piston coach I can say that about since Larry Brown. We can question his ability to adapt and strategize in reaction to the opponent come playoff time, but to start with they needed internal development and chemistry. JB's doing a "Coach of the Year" level job at that. He may not win it, but he'll certainly get a lot of votes. Ausar was looking like Giannis-lite against the Bulls. Done laughing? Ok seriously, with his build and athleticism, it's not a bad idea for him to watch some Giannis film for the footwork. He can be an absolute terror on both sides of the ball and is an All-Star in the making if he keeps improving. This is why I've been calling for a Cade/Ausar backcourt since pre-season.

  13. A lot of people have dreams of Garrett or Crosby, but I would look at someone like Josh Sweat. If the Eagles let him hit free agency, he would be a good fit. He's usually good for 6–8 sacks but does get a lot of pressure. He had 54 pressures, which led the Eagles, who have a good defensive line. He has the size the Lions like and is solid against the run. He won't cost nearly as much as Garrett or Crosby. The Lions have an elite pass rusher. Sure, two is better than one, but Sweat would make for a good number two, especially since he would get a lot of 1:1 with Hutchinson on the field. The Lions could also rework the contract of Za'Darius Smith, and along with Paschal, would have a nice rotation.

  14. Agree. That is total clickbait as he never says anything about Luka or his future for next season. What he said about the fans and the team is why I posted it. He’s exactly right and says it in a meaningful way. Very opposite of some of the storied sound bites from his past.

  29. You are a sql programmer. The only diff is that PROC SQL allows you to leverage SAS functions. That u can use the calculated syntax is awesome, in other languages i have to make a subquery to use a field calculated in the query in the same query.

  38. This is why we can't have nice things with you around. Biden was told how he was handling student debt forgiveness was unconstitutional, so he stopped doing that way and tried another means to achieve his goal that he felt was constitutional. If it isn't, parties have a right to challenge that too. His tweet above is that despite being stopped, he continued to fight for his goal. Nothing is legally wrong with that. Trump has every right to try and enact any changes he wants to do, but if what he does is determined to be out of his legal rights, he needs to find another way to do it.
