If i fed you a sandwich that had a turd on it, but also had bacon and you rejected it, does that mean you don't like bacon?5 points

An unvaccinated school age child in Texas has died from Measles. Parents should be brought up on child endangerment charges for not getting a child a vaccine that's been given for close to 70 years. Ignorance can be deadly.2 points

Bring it on. The cult of personality might finally be broken and everyone might finally wake the **** up. We might be able to work with that.2 points

Back in the day when Ty Cobb and and I were chewing Laudanum gum and hunting pheasant in the off-season we never lifted weights, and I don’t remember baseball players getting injured and straining their biceps simply by throwing a ball during spring training.2 points

Of course this is the same bill that would slash Medicaid funding, which hospitals rely on for a lot of their cash flow and which finances something like 30-40% of births in this country. Funding that if slashed would bankrupt families and would likely cause hospitals to have to cut staff, if not close entirely in some rural areas. And you think this bill is a positive outcome???2 points

When will we recover our national sanity and boot this embarrassment out of the Oval Office?2 points

I’m not going to purchase doom and gloom about Meadows until I have to. So as far as I’m concerned, he’ll miss a week of spring training and be back in center field, chatting with the unicorns that typically hang on the berm and feeding them tangerine marshmallows.2 points

I spent 10 minutes to find this post just to follow up on the Nazi IT people and the dos prompt. The cmd command not only worked on the network, but on a school issued laptop. How fricken cool is that??? Thank you, I would buy you a couple of beers if I could. I got the biggest kick out of that.2 points

what BS. Regan came in with inflation at >10% and the pain from the Fed tightening at least solved a real problem. Trump took over an economy that was humming - no pain whatsoever was in order...1 point

That curse will haunt generations of Tigers fans. I will miss that guy—I thought he was perfectly cast for that role. Wonder if he banged somebody’s wife or girlfriend?1 point

My sub is annual, renewed in December. The other divisions are still top notch, so I will tough it out until then, hoping Rampell et al are not stifled and this is just bluster to get some favor from His Highness.1 point

So botox, lypo, and fillers to make yourself look like something you're not is ok but making a gender transition or getting gender affirming care to change yourself is bad. Got it.1 point

Huge year for Charles. He really needs to show he was leaving points on the table and we don't all just overvalue him.1 point

I've noticed a lot of these people who are anti-vaxers or anti anything, usually start off with something like "That's what they want you to think" or "what they don't want you to know." Being contrarian means you're not a sheep and are very smart. You know something everyone else doesn't know. I call it the Aaron Rodgers effect. He thinks he's an intellectual because he bucks established science.1 point

The joy of blasting on the autobahn in a subsidized American gas guzzler at 120mph listening to Rush's La Villa Strangiato while on my way to a different US base to attend college classes will be a memory that i will cherish for all my days.1 point

Tariffs won't bring more auto jobs to the US. It's simply revenge against Shawn Fain and the UAW for not supporting him.1 point

Interesting thing occurred to me. This map reflects the difference between a country in which Russian troops were and where US and British troops were stationed between 1945 and 1989. I often think of the value and knock on effect on the US troops who came out of their rural and urban provincialist upbringings and lived among the strange German society totally different from what they were used. I really hadn't given too much thought to my German friends who also were exposed to the random US cultures. They were into hip hop, heavy metal and liked American sports. They lost their minds for Tom Cruise in Top Gun. Their dads seemed ok to have US servicemembers date their daughters even if there was a bit of an age discrepancy (that actually still blows my mind). Not sure how you fix the gap between that acculturation and whatever the hell happened in East Germany. Stationing troops there isn't really in the long range plan unless Poland is invaded and we need to build up our buffers.1 point

Yes Harris & co. are in the process of developing a farm system, maybe even more important - an ability to develop players. With said, it was under the Avila watch that they drafted or acquired: Greene, Skubal, Meadows, Rogers, Olsen, Jung, Tork, Mize, etc. - now, would his regime have been able to take several of these players to the next level that most are trending towards? That is another question, and history may lean towards the 'maybe not' side of it.1 point

Yes, the 1968 Tigers won with a home grown core, and so did the 1984 Tigers. And this feels like the first time since 1987 - holy cow, 38 years - that the organization has once again stumbled across the formula for sustained success. The Tigers will not win the World Series in 2025 but I am liking 2027 and I think Chris Ilitch will make us all shut the f up and keep Tarik Skubal here for the rest of his HOF career. 38 years, JHC. Bert that is more than half of our lives, that is unacceptable.1 point

Just following in the footsteps of Leo de Medici: "In 1517, Pope Leo X offered indulgences for those who gave alms to rebuild St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The aggressive marketing practices of Johann Tetzel in promoting this cause provoked Martin Luther to write his Ninety-five Theses, condemning what he saw as the purchase and sale of salvation." US and its political culture *are* proving themselves in need of a little Reformation. 🤷♀️1 point

I saw a post on facebook from "Tigers True Fans" about the injury being more serious than expected. I am not clicking on it as many of these posts are click bait, but I hope it's not true. He was the straw that stirred the offense down the stretch last year. He wasn't their best player, but he was their offensive MVP last year. He made the difference.1 point
