Playoff drought snapped! Winning this game on the road when the three ball completely abandoned you is huge. Also wonder if JB discovered something here. Nobody is stopping Brunson’s flopping, but maybe more minutes with Schroeder harassing him so Ausar can work his off-ball roaming, stealing, and disruptive help defense without fouling out. Worth trying.

This team feels different because its achievements have been earned instead of bought — compared to other versions of this team. And disparaging the previous versions of this team when it was playing at a high level as being “bought“ isn’t truly fair but still that’s what it feels like. We expected those previous teams to win. Until August last year, no one expected this team to win and when it’s still winning now, it feels really special.

The last time they won was when my wife and I finally got a chance to get away just the two of us, after we had kids. My oldest was 7. This was for our 10th wedding anniversary and we went to south haven. I remember watching the Celtics series. I got tickets Thursday, nose bleeds, for my son and I. He’s now 24. He’s had a rough couple of weeks between a breakup and totaled car. I’m glad I was able to perk him up. It’s only money.

Impemba had no style, but I don't watch games to hear an announcer promote himself or try to be funny. Like you said, I didn't know he was there and that was fine. The radio guy needs some style. The TV guy needs to stay out of the way of the action.

Granted most non Knicks fans probably are rooting against them so they may be biased but if you look on social media its amazing how many people you will see that aren't pistons fans talking about how favorable the officiating has been for the Knicks.

Also, any suggestion of a contending team trading their ace for prospects is utter nonsense. They'd be more likely to trade two of their top 10 prospects for a two month rental arm to put them over the top.

If they are bound for the playoffs, then they can win the World Series especially if they have a couple of great starting pitchers. I don't think a team that is looking like they are headed for the playoffs would ever trade their ace at the deadline. I could maybe see them trading him before the season, but even that seems unlikely to me.

Would keeping him and winning the World Series be enough compensation?

Not sure why Thibs took out the sledgehammer and ran iso Brunson over and over. But thank you. Not taking away from the nice defensive effort by Detroit, but its much easier to defend a team running the same play for the same player over and over. Letting us hide Duren on Hart is quite the gift. It's letting Duren come off of Hart and help a bit since Hart isn't a 3PT threat. He can get to the rim a bit though and is a good passer, averaging 6 APG. They should be running PnR with Hart as the ball handler and KAT screening. Harris and Duren defending the PnR together is something a team should want to exploit. Can anyone remember a single time it was run last night? Where were the doubles and traps on Cade? Cade will kill you if you can't speed him up and make him uncomfortable. The Knock on JB is he doesn't adjust well. Not a real X's and O's type of coach. He was smart last night letting Cade go one on one without screens. It helped keep the doubles away from Cade a bit. In game 1 when Cade came off of a screen he had one or two defenders waiting for him. That never happened last night. That with the hiding Duren on Hart has JB winning the coaching game so far.

This game was on a 4 hour pace at one point. We left after the 6th. Early wake up call. I knew we would have to go before 9 but I was hoping it would be in the 8th or 9th by then. God I hate Montero. Guy still is able to be slow AF even with a pitch clock. Just ****ing pitch man. Every time he took it down to 0:02.

It's funny as a kid up to a young adult in the late 90s/early 00s I could name most if not all MLB managers. They just seemed to be more visible and had more character, now I'd be lucky to name a third of them.
