  2. Glad it went up from 20, but if it were me I would've mirrored him to Brunson at about 36 minutes. What JB can't do is continue to have Beasley and THJ on the court at the same time, especially with Schroder. That lineup just gets killed. Another thing JB should do is consider subbing Duren out early since Tobias is guarding KAT anyway. That way Duren won't need his rest right at the same time Mitch Robinson comes in. You've got to have Duren out there the entire time Robinson is on the court because nobody else is big enough to keep him off the glass.

  5. Pretty hype for this game tonight. Could force a game 7 and end that horrible home playoff losing streak.

  6. Why not is because if we are expecting to compete for the playoffs/championship next year, we should be looking to keep/add players like Skubal rather than sell. The difference between a comp pick (similar to McGonigle) and 2 top 50 prospects is worth it for 1 season of a top 5 pitcher in the game. The Angels didn’t “not recover” from losing Ohtani for a comp pick, they weren’t good before that. If we were in the position we were 2-4 years ago, yes trading Skubal would have made more sense. Not when we are a playoff caliber team.

  11. The party stores and gas stations here sometimes have good food. There is a party store called Alasmer that has really good pizza that's cheap. I quit going there because the owner drives a Tesla.

  12. I once had a very helpful CS person for Comcast. He explained how I could move to a slightly different internet package and pay less. My assumption was he was fired the next day (your call may be recorded…).

  15. the other issue in large US business is just lack of any long term stability in the average corp management. A management team can spend several years building up a commitment to CS and core of people to do it, and a management change can destroy it all in one quarter. So as a customer, even if you are well taken care of once, you have little expectation it will be repeated again.

  16. I've never been to those... are they legit grimey or Livonia grimey? There's a Carter's near me that is..... something. And there's Motz's in Rouge or Ecorse. I have an anti-elitist take on things in Lilly White Livonia. Yeah it's cute to pretend but come one. Once at our office in Dearborn they tried sending over a middle eastern place from Northville or whatever and... let's just say I got a better Fattoush salad from a gas station on Warren.

His brother also runs a hitting school here localy and played a in the minors for awhile. Just a great all around baseball family. https://www.coach-mckinstry.com/

  19. The allocation of the signing bonus remains hits the cap all at once when a player is traded-similar to when they’re cut. Example: player signs a 4 year contract with a $40 million signing bonus. That bonus counts $10 million against the cap for each of the 4 years even though it was paid up front. So if the player is traded after year 1, the team takes a $30 million dead cap hit immediately. If he’s traded after year 3, it’s only a $10 million dead cap hit. So if they are going to cut a player anyway, they will try and trade them. If they aren’t and there is a significant amount of signing bonus still to be allocated, they likely will not.

  25. I remember when we had a team stacked with All Stars and Cy Young winners or candidates and going on West Coast swings and tallying 2–6 records and being inexplicably shut out for 25 innings straight. I just couldn’t understand why this was so hard.

  29. The owner of Leon's is a great dude..... Every week of Thanksgiving he gives out free turkey dinners to anybody... anybody.... meaning homless too. I suspect the Fox News thing is just catering to their customer base.... which isn't us. We're a few decades too young. But great breakfast buffets.

  30. I had to call my bank yesterday and the rep made sure to tell me she was from Texas. The level of customer service you get is directly related to the liklihood they would lose you as a customer if you are unhappy with that service.

  31. Most of the time, when you bring up an issue to one of these foreign-based CSRs, you can hear the clattering of the keyboard as they google the same answers you already did before calling. They are almost certainly contractors, not company employees, and they probably have several dozen different corporate clients they service, so none of the CSRs learn anything about the clients' products. But then, they don't have to, do they? All they really need are moderately above-average (say, index of 105-110) googling skills.

  32. Exactly! They have accepted Trump as their Saviour in the same manner a religious person accepts Jesus Christ as their Saviour. As I understand it, being "saved" means your sins no longer count thus accepting Trump as a Saviour allows you to live a sinful life.

  33. I found this happening before my own eyes at my current company. I got laid off last year because our job was outsourced to the Philippines. When that went poorly, they hired a bunch of us (myself included) back. Most of those positions have stayed outsourced though, and there is a huge turnover with them. Service has absolutely taken a hit.

  36. Today on my very whirlwind tour of Livonia/South Lyon and Milford I ran into the Barnes and Noble on the corner of 5 and Haggerty (or is that 6 mile?) and I was perusing a book titled "Hubris Maximus" about Elon Musk and some sweet old lady comes up and says "that book has a great title, doesn't it?" and i look at it and I realize she's no fan of Ole' Elon and I respond "Yeah, he's a real piece of work, isn't he?" and she responds "you can say that again!" Now, sample size is very small. Not all the old people in that age cohort in the western suburbs are Trumpies. I didn't assume she was hitting on me.

  40. That statement he made at the press conference shows yet again what a know nothing moron and cretin he has always been. Democrats should be campaigning on Trump wants to take your kids toys away and wants to cancel Christmas and birthday gift giving. I'm serious. This kind of bull**** campaigning works for Republicans and the media eats it right up. Democrats should be painting a picture of empty department store toy sections and unfulfilled Amazon toy orders. Be relentless with the messaging too and pin this **** on every Republican running. Make Trump cancels toys as much a culture war issue as it is an economic issue.

  41. When Harris took Max and Mac as high schoolers in 2023, we were building for the long term and probably didn’t expect to be in the playoffs the following season. Now that we’re that team, we need to draft top players who get here a lot more quickly. So I am guessing top-end college players are at the top of his shopping list.
