I want to know how Dems were able to rig the election when he was in power, but not in 2016 or 2024 when Dems were in power.3 points

Plus he just wanted to kill it because it was an Obama thing - if you recall he tried to de-Obama-fy everything he could. It was his big motivation early in his 1st term.3 points

Biden had the political capital to either restore economy and bring the US back to full employment ASAP, with significant risk of inflation, or push through legislation and reform to protect democracy. He choose the economy and it was more successful than just about anyone could have imagined. One of the most consequential one term presidencies ever. Perfectly rational to think that if he modeled normal behavior and a normal presidency that people would be reminded what a vile perversion of power Trump's presidency was. The problem is the American people are stupid.3 points

neither of the people I voted for in the VA dem primary won, and i don't care. Spanberger will win in a blowout and hopefully carry any other 2 dems across the finish line.2 points

You guys don't remember the flagpole being in play? Get some of that stuff that helps your memory I can't seem to recall the name of it...2 points

well, thereby hangs a tale. When the Briggs rebuild was done, the CF corner was more square, the flagpole was in play, and it was 440 right into to the corner where the flag pole was. But after some years they put a fence across the CF corner so there was 25-30 feet or so of fence square to home plate and the flag pole was behind it - no longer in play. the ground crew used it as a storage area. The distance to that fence was ~425, but they never took the old 440 marker off the wall and eventually just kept repainting their little fib. After the ball park closed, Google earth got a shot of the field after they had torn down the interior fence, you still see the warning track end at the line of the removed fence. Measured with GE, it was indeed 440 to the original wall, but 425 to where the fence was. And there is your Tiger Trivia for the day....2 points

I think the historical society story had to be talking about a ground level scoreboard if it was moved because hitters complained. The scoreboard that was above the bleachers was modified/expanded a bunch of times over the years but was above of the batter's eye and was never reported as an issue for hitters. Tiger Stadium was always considered to have a good hitting backgound. As I recall the center of the lower deck CF bleachers were often left empty for that reason in later years - and probably also because they were terrible seats!1 point

Where does he even get this stuff? Bringing back Mesothelioma is going to make America great again? Asbestos has been pretty successfully replaced everywhere it was ever used and no-one is the worse for it. But it's Trump, and even if he did reverse the controls, who would be fool enough to open an asbestos mine? Then again, they still mine the stuff in Russia so maybe he's just in the tank for another buddy of Putin.1 point

If a woman runs as a Democrat for the third time and loses for the third time, we won’t have a Democratic Party woman president for at least fifty years after that. I’m thinking we’re more likely to have a woman Republican become president first.1 point

Once you walked into the bleachers section, you were fenced off from the LF grandstand and RF reserved seat sections. However, if there was a guy manning the gate at the fence, he would let you out of the bleachers and into the grandstands if you slipped him as little as a dollar. From there you could walk around to the rest of the ballpark.1 point

He wasn't allowed to throw it in his first rehab start. He just got another injection. At least, according to Hinch and reports. "“He didn’t throw any changeups, and that was by design,” Tigers manager AJ Hinch said, according to an article from MLB.com."1 point

We were told that Donald Trump would be a peacetime President and that no new wars would be waged on his watch. We were told that the wars in Ukraine and Gaza would have never started had he just been the President at the time. Now, we're either about to get heavily involved in a war with Iran or at least be a sideline partner, approving of and funding Israel's invasion of and war with Iran. I guess we can start calling him George W. Trump.1 point

espn 24. Detroit Tigers Andrew Fischer, 3B, Tennessee Top 150 rank: 53 2025 MLB draft: Mock drafts and rankings Fischer is rising due to his strong performance in the SEC this year, and while he's likely still behind Irish, he might be sneaking up on Laviolette with a chance to go in the top 20 picks. I think Detroit is looking to pair a college player with a high school player between this pick and its next (34) and will be looking mostly at left-handed hitters. As you can guess, that means a lot of different players have been tied to these two picks. Slater de Brun, Cam Cannarella, Fauske and Kayson Cunningham come up the most. 34. Detroit Tigers: Aaron Watson, RHP, Trinity Christian HS (Florida)1 point

The Mets have lost four games in a row, The Yankees have lost five games in a row. The Nationals have lost 10 games in a row. In the AL Central, Cleveland, Minnesota and Kansas City are a collective 6–24 although it looks like Cleveland could beat the Giants tonight. And the Tigers, going through one of the roughest spots in the year so far, are 6–4 in their last 10.1 point

People like presidents and senator who are on the clock 24/7 for their country have no right to be sarcastic. Everything they say matters and should be taken seriously. “I was kidding” is never an excuse for public servants whose very words affect how life is lived in this country.1 point

Hinch showing a lot of trust in Chase Lee. Using him in the 7th inning of a 1 run game. That 2.01 ERA is pretty impressive. He's definitely gonna stick around all summer.1 point

PIrates at Tigers in the 2009 World Series at Bennett Park. The home plate area you see in the pic below would become the right field corner at Navin Field. The home plate at Navin Field was located in what is the left field corner in this picture.1 point

Senator Mike Lee took down his God awful tweets re:the Minnesota murders today, BUT.. Obviously, not really feeling like he’s got anything to apologize for, as noted in other remarks of his that are still out there. ========================== “Lee did not respond to reporters’ questions about the posts yesterday but he replied to a X user who said, “According to Democrats you’re not allowed to make sarcastic posts anymore!” “Ah yes,” he posted. “I must seek their permission.” That post remained up Tuesday afternoon. ======================= To which I respond: **** you, Mike, you ignorant , hateful piece of crap.1 point

Ivey was projected to have the better ceiling if all went in his favor, which is why you take him. I think it was still the right pick. He's dealt with a train wreck of a coach/franchise and was just starting to show his value when the Orlando Rollerderby took him down, so we'll have to see how things go this year. As for a straight up trade right now, their offensive numbers are actually about the same. Ivey is the better 3 point shooter and Mathurin is the better finisher. Mathurin also has a chance to become a more versatile defender due to his size, but he really isn't a good defender right now either. I wouldn't make the trade because I think Mathurin has had more time to show what he is and that picture is becoming clearer, while I think Ivey is just as good offensively right now but still has the higher ceiling. That's doesn't mean I wouldn't package Ivey in a trade for an All-Star Forward, but either way I value him higher than Mathurin.1 point
