Looking at Paddack's game log: he has allowed 0 ER 1 time 1 ER 6 times 2 ER 5 times 3 ER 3 times 4 ER 2 times 5 ER 1 time 6 ER 1 time 8 ER 1 time 9 ER 1 time That's a lot like Mize exept Mize doesn't have anything over 6 ER. So, Paddack seems to be capable of pitching pretty well most of the time, but be ready for a few blow ups.

I think you overestimate the amount of hits that an average vs above average 3B takes away in a game. Hedges gets moved because defensive catchers are valuable and catchers in nature are generally not a very offensive position.

I have heard the term before and it's pretty obvious what it means. It's part of a corporate BS culture of which I don't want any part. BA just said Rainer, if he didn't get hurt, had a realistic chance to be rated higher than Konnor Griffin who is their #1 ranked prospect currently - in other words he isn't getting moved to Pittsburgh unless Skenes is coming back: The Skinny: One of two high profile prep shortstops in the 2024 draft, Rainer hasn’t had the rise of Konnor Griffin in 2025, but if not for a season-ending shoulder injury he might have ranked even higher. Rainer is an advanced hitting shortstop with a plus power-hitting peak. Bednar is the only one of the bunch I'd really want and I think he's more likely to cost something like Jung and Anderson/Hamm than he is one of our top 6. They aren't also aren't trading Vierling.
