Skubal has the big strikeout total and the low ERA and all the fancy advanced stats, but Mize has something he doesn't. He just knows how to win AND THAT'S SOMETHING YOU CAN'T TEACH.4 points

@casimir mentioned weeks ago how Kahnle falls off a cliff after a certain number of innings. I wonder if they purposely gave him "a month off" (which is basically what has happened), to try to reset his stamina and to hopefully get him back pitching well for the very end of the season and the playoffs. If so, I could be convinced that @casimir caught Scott Harris' attention at a game a while ago and was able to convince him of this plan.2 points

I thought Manning was fine. The real issues are the coaching staff and the WR room. How can you go an entire training camp and not teach/learn how to catch a ball with your feet?2 points

This is why Dirks has been a ratings success. He dropped the one liner but then he did follow that up with a solid commentary. Of all the analysts Benetti works with, Dirks is the only one that will try to return the favor of trying to knock Jason off his stride and that creates a little more of a fun dynamic. Not to everyone's taste but it seems to be selling well. When Gibson was good, that is one of the things he would do as well - i.e. be a little more challenging to his partner, though in different ways than Dirks.1 point

I believe Meadows in centerfield and Baez playing more shortstop would help the pitching staff.1 point

I really like Bobby a lot. I’m not sure how the Tigers happened to pick up on him, but it’s working for me at least.1 point

I'd like to see Bobby Scales do more games with Benetti. Dirks is a better match with Dickerson.1 point

I submit that they can carry him in the lineup..they need his defense in CF as he is just replacing Sweeney.1 point

For some guys going out to pitch would be the best way to cope with grief. Everybody is different. It's hard to know whether his mental state affected his outcome or not since he's not that good to being with and a result like yesterday would not be unexpected for him under normal circumstances. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯1 point

This. In the history of the NFL the good coaches usually continue to put good teams on the field even as their assistants come and go.1 point

The question should be if Ben Johnson remains elite without Goff. He was a nobody and Goff is the only QB he has ever worked with.1 point

Maybe the success of pitching chaos and the pitching factory was much more fortunate than we imagined?1 point

Chris Paddack seriously has no business pitching in organized baseball. His rookie year was by far his best.1 point

I'm not sure what options Hinch had. He has one reliable starter and two reliable bullpen arms. How do you navigate something like this?1 point

He should lock the whole thing. “If you want to have them pick up litter on the roads like drunk drivers doing community service, that’s on you”. Then treat those unfortunate service members sent on a dog and pony show with respect. Give them more than TX or the feds would.1 point

Not even a week after Trump was president he lifted Biden's hold on heavy bombs. The two are not the same. https://www.timesofisrael.com/trump-confirms-lifting-hold-on-delivery-of-2000-pound-bombs-to-israel/1 point

But we have a whole bunch of prospects who may help us win games in 2030. If they make MLB. And nobody knew we were going to need pitching. Except every single person who watches baseball.1 point
