LaPorta is a warrior, a stud. If anyone can make it back and play in pain, he can. There's a reason he's an Alle-Pro as a rookie!

It sounds like it’s the same injury Kelce had week one, and IIRC the narrative then was “if it was a playoff game he would go”

Kelce injured his knee in practice on September 5th. The game was the 7th. There was only two days between injury and game time. If that game was on a Sunday, he probably plays. It was also the first game of the season against an out of conference opponent as well.

how many have been at the championship game at both levels?

Well the National championship game hasn't existed for the last 100 years but....

Barry Switzer

Jimmy Johnson

Pete Carroll

Bobby Ross

Have all won national championships at the College level and won/appeared in the Superbowl.

I'm not knocking Harbaugh's coaching career. He did have trouble getting his feet back on the ground coming back to the college game, not the least because he had not been able to recruit a top level QB to lead his teams - some of which probably had enough talent to get to and maybe win the playoff if their offense had had an NFL draft quality QB. But he has now brought the program back to a level as high as it has ever been. But now he has to decide whether the joy is in the chase or in the keeping, and since his success at most of his stops has been closely tied to his QB it would be hard to believe an opportunity like the possibility of coaching Williams at Chicago wasn't something that would at least pique Harbaugh's interest.

He's clearly a person whose motivations have an internal logic which is not evident to the external observer, so who knows what is really most important to him. At different times it has appeared to be his school, a superbowl win, more money. Maybe all three at once depending on the day of the week.

The Rams are happy also. They got a SB.

I think this is foolish logic. There isn't evidence that they couldn't have won without Stafford. McVay didn't get the most out of Goff. If he was a better coach, they could have won it with Goff, had extra cap space, and had multiple first round picks to add talent to the roster. Maybe the Rams don't win it in 2021 but the next year and set up themselves up better for the future.

Like I tried to say a long time ago, they're basically the same.

The Lions traded Matthew Stafford to the Rams for two 1st round picks, a 3rd rounder, and Matthew Stafford.

Cool!
