**** Dallas,  the Lions are America's Team right now.

They are. This year. The feel good underdog from a  hard knocks city led by a rah rah coach. It will never be quite the same again. Once you start getting good and knocking teams out you pick up enemies along the way. And by next year there will be a new darling team.

Goff showing off his hands here, MCDC lasered that game ball to him!

I want to see a play where they reverse it to Jameson Williams who then throws it downfield to Goff so you have the fastest player on the field throwing it to the slowest player on the field. Goff has the hands for it as demonstrated, but does Williams have the arm?

I still refuse to believe that was an intentional dirty play. Did he go a little low? Sure but one of the things you have to keep in mind is that this was a big TE, not a 180lb WR that you can wrap up easier, with the bigger guys you are always taught to go lower that's why many of the plays where guys jump over defenders are by bigger RBs or TEs and not small receivers and secondly the injury wouldn't have happened if the collision occurred a millisecond earlier or later, it would've just looked like a normal tackle but unfortunately it just happened right at time his leg extended. At the speed the game moves at no way Joseph could intentionally time it for that to happen.

They can move the game closer to rugby tackling rules, but not without making major changes to slow down offenses otherwise you'd never see another punt,  and neither the league or the fans would be happy with that. Every rule you add to restrict tackling means more guys that won't get tackled.

So that's the conundrum.

Guy who plays in Philadelphia lecturing other fanbases on when it's appropriate to boo.

I still think the booing of Stafford was more to show support for Goff and that we are "over our ex gf" if you will and are fully behind him now.

As we know with how crazy fans were 2 years ago supporting the Rams so Stafford could get his SB they don't hold any grudge towards him or anything.

Also this wasn't the time or place to be the courteous and classy fans, this was a big deal for the franchise and its fanbase. You can give Matthew his proper ovation another time if you like.

I don't think Lions even actually booed Stafford. They booed the Rams.

It's not like a picture of Stafford was shown on the big screen, or his injury report appeared on the screen and people cheered. Not saying those things wouldn't have happened, the crowd was rabid. But still. Differentiating boos of the opposing team and boos of Stafford isn't possible.

Really. Stafford wasn't coming here to have a 20th reunion with old pals, he came here to take the Lion's lunch money and to do his best to send the fans home in despair again. Football is an exercise in sanitized war in 4 parts. For 60 minutes between the line the other guy is supposed to be the enemy.

My hot take is when things are all said and done, Goff will be remembered more fondly than Stafford. Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson were all time greats, Stafford was good but not an all time great. It's like the Pistons comp I made earlier. Stafford is Grant Hill. Goff is more like Richard Hamilton. Hill was a superior player talent wise but it's Hamilton's jersey hanging from the rafters.
