Sports_Freak Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Tigers laid an egg tonight. We'll get 'em tomorrow. I already feel sorry for the Cleveland SP tomorrow...🤣🤣 Quote

Last year we were eighth highest. We’re making good progress. We also just faced a fire breathing Cy-Young-vote-getting reliever who strikes out 31% of the hitters he faces and average 13 K/9. I think it’s more bad timing and bad luck than systemic failure. Quote
Tiger337 Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Bibee is a talented pitcher. He was bound to turn it around sooner or later. Too bad he picked the Tigers tonight Quote
chasfh Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Lemonade out of lemons: bad as it was, it’s still only one loss. Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 23 Posted May 23 This is disappointing, But I’m watching a seven hour documentary about the Mongol’s and they sacked Baghdad in 1258 and killed 2 million people so with that in mind I don’t think I have the right to feel too bad about this because there was no tomorrow - immediately at least for 2 million people in Baghdad - but we have a tomorrow. papalawrence Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Bibee was outstanding. And I HATE CLEVELAND (especially Santana) Quote

Great graphics, great narrative, the whole series is spectacular. Most of the videos are shorter. This is I think the longest one ever. 2 Quote
IdahoBert Posted May 23 Posted May 23 A beat down is a beat down is a beat down and what the heck accept it and move onto tomorrow. Quote

papalawrence Posted May 23 Posted May 23 (edited) Bibee was as good as I have ever seen him. I tip my cap. And I fart in Cleveland's general direction Edited May 23 by papalawrence Quote

IdahoBert Posted May 23 Posted May 23 It’s a telling statement of how I’ve gotten so used to the Tigers being good and in the thick of it that winning is expected, and perhaps even blowing it after being in the thick of it is expected, but doing almost nothing and being flat out not in the thick is bewildering. For me doing almost next to nothing is such an interruption of my usual expectations that it seems like a head scratcher when it is instead inevitable for something like this to happen, even God forbid, for several games in a row. I hope that doesn’t happen in this series. The good thing about this team is that it truly has an élan where every game is the beginning of a new day and a new set of possibilities. This is probably just a bump in the road. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Tigers website has been re-designed, They need to change it back, it's bad luck. Quote

I just checked. the Orioles one has the same new format. Its not the Tigers' fault. You can't be blamed karma-wise for things that happen because of forces out of your control. When the hurricane hits you its hitting your neighbor too. It wasn't because you forgot to return your library book. But woe betides the man who steps on a foul line or fails to respect a streak. CMRivdogs Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Aren't all MLB team websites controlled (at least formatted) by MLB? Withe the express written consent of whomever is in charge these days. I think it's the same with MiLB Quote
oblong Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Yes. This website exists because of that change made over 20 years ago. We were all on the official site and MWG ran it for them. 1 Quote
Klondike Posted May 23 Posted May 23 It's games like this that make the 162 game schedule easier to swallow. Quote

Yes Oblong is correct... MLB Advanced Media took over control of all MLB sites in 2001, which lead to this site eventually. They also run MiLB sites like was mentioned. However, I did not know that they (MLBAM) also run the NHL sites and other properties... Interesting. From Wikipedia: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MLB_Advanced_Media) "MLBAM also runs and/or owns the official web sites of the National Hockey League and Minor League Baseball, YES Network (the television broadcaster of the New York Yankees), SportsNet New York (the television broadcaster of the New York Mets). It has also provided the backend infrastructure for WWE Network, WatchESPN, ESPN3, HBO Now, and PGA Tour Live." 1 Quote
