  1. My favorite Brian Dubois moment was when Sparky Anderson came out to the mound to take him out of the game in his first start. Anderson extended his arm to take the ball before saying anything like he always did. Dubois thought he was offering a handshake, so he shook his hand. Catcher Mike Heath started laughing.

  2. I still it goes back to bringing a guy who is under normal circumstance effectively wild into 30 deg weather who had thrown a total of 14 pitches in the last 12 days. Cripes - nowadays they send starters for rehab when they get that much time off. It was bad BP management on a longer time frame than just last night and Hinch should not get a pass on that aspect.

  5. the complete inability to score runs when it's cold is such a long standing pattern that management needs to be looking at doing something to change it up. Change the prep, change the cold weather uniform items available - something. Every team we play against seems to deal with the weather but the Tigers.

  9. Complain about the defense I guess. But the reason the Tigers are 4 games below .500 after 16 games is the offense. I believe the Tigers have scored more than 3 runs only 5 times. More than 4 runs (the MLB average) only three times. They are second to last in HRs with a total of 8. Several of these guys have track records to suggest brighter days are ahead. Just have to wait it out.

  15. I wanted to take a spin on Truth Social to see how long it would take to get banned. Turns out you can only join with an iPhone. That got me thinking of the Freedom Phone that was being hocked by people such as Candace Owens. It's a $100 Chinese Android that they just install conservative apps on and an American flag wallpaper and sell for $500. It made me realize that the lemmings who bought this phone cannot even use Truth Social with it. I was wondering if it was still a thing and found the website. Right on the homepage is a video and the very first sentence spoken is "Name one time in history where the people who ban books, media and opinions were the good guys." You cannot make this up. I have a plugin on my browser called Fakespot that looks for shady reviews and companies, this is what I get when I go on their website: I've never got this pop up warning on any other site ever. The grift and gaslighting is incredible.

  18. I would have thought the best rotation would be Soto to 1st and Tork come home while Haase runs at the man between 2nd and third, staying to the right to force him to 3rd together with the other runner. 1st is the least likely place for the play to end so the best place for the pitcher. Haase's job is to keep the #2 runner from getting back to 2nd

  20. Its down on the list of errors on that play, but it isn't helpful if there's a play at the plate on the 2nd runner. Then again, if there was a throw, it would've probably hit a goose in flight or something stupid like that.

  21. I'm really bitchy at work today because of last night. I went to sleep with the lead and kept waking up but never checked the score. Then I get up and look and see "Twins beat the Tigers 5-4" and it just ruined my day. This stupid game. Stupid Tigers and their stupid faces and dumb mothers who should never have had them.

  22. Because he was covering the plate after Haas entered the rundown, and he could plainly see that he wasn't in the way of the runner and that they lost the game? I see lots of problems with that play, but where Soto was at the end isn't really one of them to me.

  23. I don't mind Fulmer being brought in to face Buxton & Correa in the 8th. I don't know if he was warming up when Baez hit his HR or not. It was still a close enough game before that where Hinch would try to keep things close going into the top of the 9th. A lot of players had a bad game last night. The result of the Haase throw is the most glaring, but as was mentioned above, it wasn't the only miscue. Here's one that wasn't brought up, why was Soto standing at the plate with his hands on his hips? If a throw gets to the plate in time, he's risking interfering with that play. If the runner takes a route on the foul side of the plate, and Soto is standing there observing, now you're putting a judgement call into the hands of the umpire when your team is on the road in the 9th inning in cold weather.

  27. If they are so fixated on keeping Willi on or around the team, and I don't blame them for trying to rediscover that .900 OPS bat from that short season a couple of years ago, then teach him to put on the tools and be the emergency catcher. It's really stupid to carry 3 actual catchers. Or do it with Harold, I don't care. But 3 catchers who can't hit, that is failing some sort of sanity test.

  35. Haase swung at ball 4 twice. I wonder where these guys park their brains. The pitcher had 4 walks in less 7IP?. Once you're down in the count, just protect the damn plate and he was going to put you on....

  38. LOL - Ethereum all hyped about finally getting off the environmental bad list and dumping 'proof of work' for 'proof of stake'. Just what the world needs, going from a system that outgrew what was envisioned as being a truly open distributed control, to one controlled only by the guys who could bring the biggest HW to the table, and now right on to direct control by the biggest existing holders. Crytpo, which early fans saw as some kind of decentralization of banking has taken less than 20 yrs to descend into ordinary top down control capitalism. It has turned into a cute little microcosm lesson in the natural wealth/power consolidating properties of capitalism. Build the boat, float the boat, pull up the boarding ladders. https://www.reuters.com/business/cryptoverse-ether-prepares-epic-merge-quest-eclipse-bitcoin-2022-04-26/

  40. Should the Tigers just released Jeimer Candelario? I’m not sure if he has any options left and I pretty sure he wouldn’t accept any assignment to AAA. Assign Eric Haase to AA and see if a few bus trips will motivate him.

  41. We should all be upset withA.J. Hinch and his cookie cutter approach with the Tigers bullpen. Michael Fulmer was already in the game and pitching well, and I believe managers should not name a designated closer for all 9th inning save situations. I’m beginning to realize Hinch doesn’t care about game situations and strategy. Also, Al Avila is too comfortable in his job and with the Tigers overall play.
