I believe inflation and low unemployment have been caused by different reasons than past inflation and unemployment. In regards to unemployment, I think the pandemic caused a lot of people to leave the work force for early retirement. A lot of other people have changed jobs to take advantage of remote opportunities and gig jobs. It's going to take a while before everything settles down.

Who was the last QB like Jackson to win a Super Bowl? Mahomes is mobile but he has never rushed for more than 380 yards in a season. QB runs are just not an integral part of his game. Looking at recent winners, Stafford is not mobile. Brady certainly isn't. Both Manning's were statues. Flacco was a statue. The only one that comes to mind is Russell Wilson and he was a better pocket passer than Jackson. It's just not sustainable play.

I think that keeps getting lost in the narrative. And not just b/c of the pandemic but simple demographics. The majority of baby boomers are now past retirement age.

it depend what numbers you choose to look at. if you add up things like "yards" then they probably look similar, but lamar jackson is a former league mvp. his best season was much much better than jared goff's best season. the issue with lamar's performance is his decline from that amazing season and then very good season the next year. since then, he's had two very average seasons. will he ever get back to his league mvp level? but make no mistake, having a dual threat qb with a gun for an arm who played at that level opens up a lot more opportunities for an offense. more than what a non-mobile qb with pocket presence that comes and goes can provide.

Like designed QB runs in September and October that lead to trips to the injured list in November and December.

Your post wasn't obviously sarcasm, because I've heard others say what she did was horrible while making excuses for some of the most vile disgusting policians out there. I like sarcasm, but I sometimes have a really difficult time distinguishing between when you are being serious and when you are being sarcastic. Sometimes you go back and forth between the two in the same post. What Warren did definitely happened, but I still maintain it was pretty minor compared to other politicians. I guess the fact that they keep pointing to the same thing with her over and over again indicates that she hasn't done a lot of bad things. It's like Obame and the 52 states quote. Trump got criticized for saying something stupid almost every day of his presidency and the retort was always what Obama and the 52 states.

Well, she released a DNA test indicating there probably was an ancestor, but it pretty much undercut her own case because it showed the ancestor was *way* back there and objectively it was a stretch for her to claim any kind of status based on it. Her 'excuse' such as it is, is that she was going by what her own family had told her when she was young. Well, when you go into real life you probably should check that kind of thing before you try to use it to your advantage. That said, the comparison to Santos is still nonsensical. She may have bootstrapped herself into school, but once there her subsequent accomplishments have been real enough.

I am going to be in Tokyo on vacation next week and we have tickets for next Wednesday’s quarterfinal at the Tokyo Dome. It’s for the #2 seed in Japan’s group vs #1 in the other, so the tickets for the Thursday quarterfinal were sky high. But if Japan unexpectedly drops to #2 in the group we will be in luck for a great atmosphere. My wife is from Taiwan so them making it to our quarter final would be cool as well.
