I really like Langford, I'm to the point where I will be pretty bummed if we don't end up with him unless of course its for Crews then I wouldn't mind.3 points

I'm sure draining the pool to flood the surveillance room is one of their protocols.3 points

I don't know ****... I like what I see of Whitmore though as he appears to be comfortable off the ball which would allow Ivey and Cade to have it in their hands more often. Will he become an black hole on offense? It's a risk I am willing to take2 points

That steel plant that Ukrainians held out in for so long had a contingent that was part of a far right nationalist group, some wearing Nazi symbols. CNN was the first I was aware of to blur out those symbols while honoring those fighters. That said, you're talking about a small subset. Even in the US we have far right nationalist folks, ironically you support the same politicians that they do.2 points

Other than “It’s a Wonderful Life”, which I see almost annually on a big screen, at this very old time movie theater with the same group of friends (we’ve done it for more than 10 years, interrupted by Covid), I don’t watch Christmas movies. I like Christmas music. Don’t like the movies.2 points

I eat pizza so often because it reminds me of the crappy job my parents did feeding my large family. They'd throw a pizza on the table and the predators would haul off sections of the carcass.2 points

Being a Veteran hasn't ever meant you weren't capable of doing some dumb stuff. Also, being caught at Jan 6th doesn't mean they were radicalized in the military. Most of the people caught in the Capitol riots are just your run of the mill right wing idiots.1 point

That would be the easy way, but as leadership goes he's, shall we say, a little finicky. 1 moment that's the way to do it - the next it's not. I've decided it's not worth the added stress to my mind to have that conversation every time I travel.1 point

Considering all his injuries his arm probably only has the mileage of a 16 year old too.1 point

No and no. I think you start to consider him around 8. I would only take him if they trade back or acquire a second pick.1 point

If we don't draft ****, I hope Orlando does. Their back court could be Suggs ****.1 point

they passed on donovan mitchell to take kennard because they "needed shooting" and kennard was a good shooter in college. if they traded back to draft gradey, it seems like the same play. a guy who can shoot and they need shooting. gradey seems like he's destined to play for golden state.1 point

Law has his top 100 list out ($); he thinks it is a very deep, talented draft, including 5 potential #1 picks. Crews 1 and Langford 2, who Law thinks might be a better offensive player, but not as well rounded as he has not looked good in LF. https://theathletic.com/4584350/2023/06/06/mlb-draft-ranking-prospects-2023-crews-law/?source=dailyemail&campaign=6019831 point

Christmas music and movies should be restricted to the month of December only. The only movie I watch is Lion in Winter. It's the only movie that reflects what actually happens at Christmas time.. edit For those not familiar, it's the 12th century version of Succession1 point

The calculation is obviously that this will hold up better in court than simply deleting the footage.1 point

the money is not really relevant; he is the only guy with a guaranteed contract in 2024, assuming ERod leaves and you are not counting Miggy's $8M buyout. I'd rather believe in/hope in Baez, than Rosario or Short or Workman1 point

I think about that a lot... how many movies or story lines wouldn't exist if they had a cell phone or GPS or social media? On the flip side so many stories today make use of the texting/calling function today as a narrative device.1 point

I don’t get the Baez hate. I agree the bat has been terrible and frustrating but his defense has been solid and he posts every day. Seriously if he opts out how does that help us ? Who plays shortstop? With so many holes and plenty of payroll space forthcoming why add another problem?1 point

While waiting in line for a Disney ride, my kids and I started counting "lap belts" and I can confirm that they are still widely used at amusement parks. I had one back in the day and loved the convenience but bowed to peer pressure and it went the way of my mullet. That said, no amount of mocking will ever make me stop wearing cargo shorts and bending the brim on my ball caps. Eat it junior.1 point

Man, talk about having to explain tech to young people. "You see... we had 36 chances to take pictures on vacation. You didn't know if it worked. You just pushed the button and hoped for the best. Then when you get home you take this thing out of your camera, very carefully so that you don't ruin it, and give it to the guy at this kiosk in the parking lot. In a few days you go back and finally you can see your vacation pictures. Yeah he can see them too. I guess he could make copies... why?" In a sense there was something cool about being able to 'relive' your vacation or special moments after the fact by finally seeing the pictures. I'd also argue that there's a skill in brevity, meaning you only had the limits of the film to get it right so you tried harder. I just got back from vacation and often have 3 or 4 shots of the same thing, just in case. That leads to laziness. Then there's my pictures and my wife's pictures...1 point
