Do you guys think TP is telling the people around him that they should have scored faster and Ben Johnson sucks?2 points

If Toledo had a decent rotation in 2024, that would be light years ahead of 2023, when almost nobody here could have named even 2 starters.2 points

If I am Gores, I spend the next few months finding a basketball man to run that side of the organization. If you want to keep Tellem and those folks on the business side, knock yourself out. But I want someone new in charge of running the basketball side. I don't care if it is a President/GM combo or just a GM. The scouting department has to be rebuilt. This team is not good at identifying talent. Not in the draft. Not via trade. Not via free agency. The entire department needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. It has to be built to understand and react to the modern game. Anyone suggesting you acquire 3 traditional bigs should be instantly fired. The next department to be rebuilt is player development. Think about all the recent draft picks and young players on this team. Think about the first game you watched them play and this last game. Outside of Stewart developing a three point shot, almost all of them are the exact same player as day 1 in the league. I don't know who I would target for the top job(s). I think my first call would be to Bob Myers and see if he has any interest at all in coming here. He built the Golden State teams so he has some past success. Still young at 48. I imagine it would take a dump truck full of cash to lure him to Detroit.2 points

One of the reasons for “not finding enough” was AG Barr limiting and distorting what was found. It was still a witch hunt that actually found witches.2 points

As a student of automotive history I can say there is some justice in a female member coming in and succeeding, at least for now, when the men couldn’t. For a long time their job was to host parties and be seen.1 point

Yeah I thought he was short as well. I was hoping Mullens ran up to spike it because I thought it was 4th down.1 point

The game was moving at such a frenzied pace at that point I didn't want to stop to make the post but I don't get why the booth didn't take a look at the spot on that Jefferson catch? I know the yellow line isn't official but the side judge clearly marked it a half yard short of that initially. Not to mention the fact he went to the ground with the ball, I never did see a replay that even showed if he truly caught the ball or not.1 point

We did it. We ****ing did it. Finally. We are the division champs.1 point

There you go Joseph but jeez what were you doing sticking the ball out and waiving your finger while still in the field of play? Asking for either a penalty or to lose the ball right back.1 point

This is an NBA team...sort of. They better win soon or that guy is going to have an aneurism.1 point

It was absolutely atrocious. The home scoreboard showed 3 runs for the opposition before the game started last season.1 point

Glad Vecenie went on rant. It's good people not part of the Detroit media are bringing light that something is rotting inside this organization. Interesting take on Weaver doubling down on his mistakes. It seems spot on. The fact Killian is still around is insane. I don't hold Cade and Ivey too much against Weaver yet though. The Pistons can start exploring trades but it's too early to sell low on those guys. There may be an element of coaching and development that we should be more concerned about with those two.1 point

That’s a big no for me on Myers. Sure he built a dynasty that won multiple championships but what did he do for the community. Not nearly enough.1 point

Staying at the canopy hotel, lots of lions fans in the house. Really fun atmosphere. Lions gonna have a day tomorrow. I can feel it. Ben Johnson gonna be in that Flores bag.1 point

This Lions team is patient and good at developing talent. We're seeing Barnes and Melifonwu start to come into their own in year three. I wouldn't be surprised if Sorsdal is the starter in year 3.1 point
-
I don't see Sorsdol as a viable starter on the line. Quality depth is the most I hope to get out of him. Glasgow will be 32 for week one next season, assuming he's re-signed. I think we just disagree on the very minor point of whether guard or center is more important moving forward. Good problems to have when a team is 10-4.1 point

if it makes us feel any better utah just beat toronto. of course, markannen was back and put in 30. i cant wait until be give og anunoby a max deal this offseason and then watch him pour in 14 points a game for the next 5 years.1 point

I do feel bad for the players. They are playing harder than most NBA teams play on a nightly basis and desperately trying to break this streak but it doesn't matter. The Pistons just don't have good enough players. Cade getting some garbage time stats.1 point

oh no! syracuse and wake forest wont be invited to the new league! college football is dead! lol. i dont know what's coming next. part of me is sad because the game i grew up watching is changing. the lament of an old man who doesnt like change. otoh, the game i grew up watching was based on a lie (amateurism) that exploited college kids for huge money. the new way will be like the nfl, which will be good and bad. im happy i root for a team that will definitely be invited to the new party.1 point

It's gotten to where if you want a top tackle or C, you've got to think 1st round. Sewell, Ragnow and Decker were all 1st rounders. Should find a fine guard in the 2nd.1 point

All bench unit comes in and of course things immediately go south as the Pistons trail by 9.1 point

One of my favorite radio bits was the jock who played the Barking Dogs version of Jingle Bells. Coming out of the record he acknowleged the local dogs who "left presents" on the lawn outside the studio. Immediately followed by sound effects of a gun going off several times. This lead into a local newscast, with the reporter trying to recover from laughter. You can't get away with that bit today1 point
