Ummmm... I see no reason to sell when you have a 20-23% chance of the playoffs depending on which model you look at.2 points

The good news is the cap can only go up 10% a year now. So you wont have a KD to GSW situation like last time where a team that just won the title had cap space to add a star without losing anyone. Hopefully a new local deal gets done and the Pistons are on Amazon next year. I would even be willing to pay a few extra bucks per month for it.2 points

the way the courts are moving, a guy will be able to play one half for one team, then get a better offer and go over and play for the other team in the second half. they need binding contracts. theyve allowed it to become professional sports so it needs professional rules. and a body/commissioner who will actually look out for the interests of the game.2 points

Was Riley calling for it? Because if he was and McKinstry still did that, he ought to be on the next flight to Toledo.2 points

I think the standards are pretty low in assessing catchers these days. 20 years ago, a sub-.220 BA would almost assure a career as a backup. Now, that, combined with good defense and some pop, makes you a coveted starter.1 point

And in 107 games last season Rogers hit 21 HRs with a 96 OPS+.1 point

What's the point of Trump having a vetting process for Vice President? The point of vetting is to ensure something bad won't come out about them. What could come out about the VP candidate that could be worse than what the guy at the top did?1 point

I was a wrestling fan in the early and mid 80's so I knew about them. Right around when David died is when I started watching. They would show that particular outfit on ESPN and I got the magazines. The movie was really good. My wife enjoyed it too, she is a fan of Jeremy Allen White and was immediately roped into the story. They did a good job telling it from that angle and not just make it a wrestling movie. The scenes in the ring were just long enough to tell the point without dragging it on. As with most stories about real things they changed some things, but Kevin was ok with it. They are not making a documentary. There was a younger son they completely left out, Chris. He also committed suicide. And the timelines were a little off. Kerry didn't lose his foot until a few years after winning the title. And he was married and had kids. He developed a painkiller addiction after his accident and was facing jail time over a second arrest, that's what prompted the suicide. The only thing I wish could be different in the movie, which is nobody's fault, is White was too short for Kerry. It matters somewhat because he was towering and rumor is if Vince McMahon couldn't get Hulk HOgan to lead his expansion he was going to use Kerry because he had the Adonis look. But it's hard to find guys who can act, have the body, and be able to do what's needed in the ring so it's not a big deal. But he had a presence in the ring that was pretty large. I never knew about his foot until his WWF days in like 1991. They kept it a secret. He'd shower with his boots on so the other guys didn't know.1 point

Watched "The Claw" pretty good movie. I didn't follow wrestling until the late 80's so was not that familar with the Von Erich family so tragic.1 point

colleague at work tells me that Liz Cheney gave the commencement for the Mclean HS graduation (that's a nice suburb of DC where all the richy rich folks live). I gather it was a stem-winder about Trump being poison for the Constitution. According to colleague, a dad yelled out "MAGA!" at the beginning. I guess people treated him like he farted in church which is good.1 point

I feel like with the way the courts are moving on this, a player who wanted to transfer right now and play in the fall could probably get an injunction to allow it. I think transfer rules are heading right out the window.1 point

I have a feeling they are going to extend Kelly - they love the guy. Since April 28th Dingler .388 BA .414 OBP 1.076 OPS 5 HR 18 RBI in 21 games Even against Triple A pitching, that's pretty impressive They have to give him a look, right? Even at DH (and since AJ puts one of the Catchers at DH, having 3 would not be the worst thing. Since Malloy really can't field, maybe they take a look at Dingler soon.1 point

funny how things go. The West division is weak enough this season that you don't need to win the Central to get a playoff spot.1 point

Bobby Witt Jr is good. It's crazy how teams can find a guy like that at the top of the first round in the draft.1 point
