I’m on vacation and promised myself I would disengage from anything for the week but… holy ****. I haven’t read any responses and glanced at twtitter. God bless Joe Biden for what he did for our country and let’s ****ing go Kamala! I’m all in.4 points

I can't believe it, even if this is the right call. I do believe Biden has done a tremendous job the past 3.5 years.4 points

There's been a lot of nasty stuff that went back and forth throughout all of this, but we need to recognize how excruciating this decision was. I think he made the right decision, but by no means was this easy. I am proud of him4 points

I shed a tear for the great man he is. He deserved better. But, he's really showing his wear.4 points

I hope Biden resigns, just so the Trump campaign has to burn a lot of funds on 48 merch after throwing out the 47 merch. That's the only reason.3 points

Can we not rehash the whole Erod thing yet again? Nobody here actually knows what happened.3 points

Yes, you’re right, I misposted, this will be Harris’s second deadline. He got Hao-Yu Lee for Michael Lorenzen. The jury is still out, but the prevailing opinion at the moment is that it was a good flip. I don’t think Eduardo was Harris’s fault. Eduardo, with his agent, pulled the rug out from under everyone at literally the last hour. That was very well-documented.3 points

As long as the season is still playing out, Baez is going nowhere.3 points

Based on nothing more than gut, I have a feeling Hao-Yu will be a starter on playoff teams for us and will be hailed as one of Harris's savviest moves.3 points

Yes, of course we're supposed to trust Harris, because what's our alternative? Seems like the only real alternative is to quit following the Tigers. You're talking as though Harris has already failed us on multiple occasions as Avila did. In fact, you are strongly implying that Harris is Avila. If you're not willing to give Harris even one deadline chance, then how can you ever be satisfied with anything? I mean, I get the self-flagellating attraction of fatalism, but doesn't there have to be a limit to it at some point?3 points

Biden made the right choice. It has been pretty obvious for a while that his communication skills have diminished to the point that he is no longer an effective campaigner and his disastrous debate sealed it. I feel like they were not going to win with him as the candidate. A new candidate might do even worse but they also might energize the voters and win the election. It's a chance that had to be taken.2 points

Erod has yet to pitch this season for the Diamondbacks due to injury. Not saying he's not hurt or taking the sloooow road back. He burned bridges in Detroit and Boston it seems as both teams made zero effort to sign him back in free agency. Harris probably had a good trade with LA versus no/bad trades with a team not on Rod's no trade list and when Rod and his agent verbally agreed he did not expect a last minute "stick up" for more $$. I applaud him for not mentioning this afterwards or complaining to the press. He acted very professionally. It's unfortunate but not his fault. Remember the LA GM Friedman also thought it was a done deal.2 points

Big part of it is likely that they have used four of Baddoo's five optional assignments. Given the temporary nature of this move (Meadows is probably back in the next week or so I'm guessing), you don't want to burn one for Baddoo. Also, it's been less than 10 days so you wouldn't be able to except for the fact that it is technically a corresponding move for Olson's IL placement.2 points

Step One: Find a for profit company masquerading as an impartial data collector committed to democracy. Step Two: Tell them the result that you’d like to achieve. Step Three: Pay them lots of money Step Four: Release results to the media that are so rabid for clickbait they won’t bother to check or corroborate any of the polling.2 points

From the story: About a month ago, Swanson took a trip to Detroit to pitch in front of the Tigers’ front office. It was the only team he had time to show his talents to, and immediately made an impression. “They’re excited to get me," he said. "They paid good money for me. I feel they got the steal of the draft.” Well, at least somebody thinks so, anyway!2 points

And honestly we saw what it was like without him. Not a super fun time having Kriedler and McKinstry as your SS. Now if we could pull someone like Nacho Alvarez from Atlanta to fill in that SS hole for next year that would be great.2 points

I mean Harris has already turned Gregory Soto into Matt Vierling who while not being a star has shown the ability to be a league average bat who can play adequate enough defense and be an everyday player. Also turned half a season of Lorenzen into Hao-Yu Lee who has been one of our more exciting prospects.2 points

If you step back to a longer view what appears to be happening with the orchestrated transition to Harris in the US is quite similar to what happened in France in that people are coalescing around the need to stop an existential threat, and making the kinds of concessions to that cause that you probably wouldn't see in everyday politics.1 point

Newsom has endorsed Harris. I'm pleasantly surprised how quickly Dems coalesced around Harris.1 point

How about a grand slam by young Malloy to take the lead back from the Jays? 💪🏾 Remember how the Tigers would give up a run early and we would whine and moan here and give up on the game? Yeah, I'm starting to have trouble remembering that, too.1 point

Biden is not the greatest President of our lives. He has done a good job, but Obama was better. Clinton was probably better too. Biden did a good job rebuilding structures and the sense of an adult being in charge that was destroyed during Trump. But he was brought in to be vanilla and not worry people about where the nuclear football was located at any given moment. He succeeded at that, but not much else.1 point

I still think Biden needs to a fixture on the campaign. Sell the success of the administration and prove she is the most capable of completing what they started.1 point

I think it's late enough into the season and I've given him enough of a chance to be able to say that I'm pretty much over Jason Benetti. I mean, he's miles better than Shep could ever hope to hope, no doubt. And if I had no other choice, I would be OK listening to him the whole game. But I like more business than wisecracking in my baseball broadcasts, so I'll do the radio overlay with Dan Dickerson whenever he's available.1 point

And now a double for Clark after McGonigle's 3-run homer... So: McGonigle is currently at .325 BA/ .873 OPS and Clark is currently at .284 BA and .804 OPS.... When were they planning to challenge these two with a move to High-A?1 point
