Son Mike spent a minute or so as an "advisor" to the Tigers around 2001 or so. If I remember correctly they picked his brain on promotions. Never a rabid Sox fan when we lived in Chicago during the 90s. My then 10 year old son's first MLB game was at Old Comiskey so he was a fan during the Frank Thomas years. I felt that I had failed as a father.2 points

Which is probably the reason we haven't seen it yet. Of course, bring in ABS *AND* deaden the ball and you maybe get back the more balanced game we once had. But it won't happen. You are correct. The question is do the Lions trust Hooker as the #2? Sure Sudfeld would make the practice squad but if you elevate Sudfeld on gameday as the emergency backup you can only bring him in the game if Goff and Hooker got hurt. If you want to bring Sudfeld in as the primary backup he has to be on the active roster.1 point

Relievers are like finding golf balls in the rough...hard to see but they are there so don't trade good assets or spend BIG $. I like the converted starter option or short term free agent. They are just not reliable year to year except for a few closers.1 point
