Another pass rusher who's playing on a bad team that is facing a rebuild is Micah Parsons.4 points

on a positive note, i was happy to see them rub it in the cowboys' face. running trick plays late in the game, running up the score, lining up skipper as eligible all game long, even at wide receiver! **** the refs, **** the league office, and **** the cowboys. it was a level of grudge holding i can appreciate.4 points

Yes, but I think that would appy to all players. Torkelon has been one of their healhiest players physically, so my guess is there is something they want him to do with his mental approach to the season. It's just a guess though. I had the same immediate reaction as Bert.2 points

Given how Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania all went for Biden in 2020, I would conclude that these look alarmingly good for Trump.2 points

Harris should accept the offer on the condition Trump takes the same test. Do it on live TV. PBS to host moderated by Judy Woodruff. Make it a 60 or 90 minute special, those tests don't take that long. I'd also throw in a few motor skills options, even a six minute walk test. A physician and psychologist selected by a private non partisan medical group. (Someone like the Mayo Clinic, Duke, or whomever). The candidates can be isolated in separate areas. Test one then the other. I bet Trump would back out.2 points

This is amazing. It's equivalent to the stepping stones the Gemini program accomplished in the bridge between the Mercury and Apollo lunar missions. You had to prove you could stay in space a long time (eating, sleeping, drinking, etc - many doctors thought humans wouldn't be able to do that), that you could go outside the capsule, that you could rendezvous with another vehicle, that you could dock, that you could change trajectories, control your reentry.... this is a stepping stone like that. Being able to control the descent of a booster like that and catch it provides a foundation for building blocks to an eventual mars mission and perhaps moon stations. NOt just about being able to quickly turn around a booster for another flight but to provide the precision needed. This was a big deal.2 points

I would look at Harold Landry. Coming into today, he had 4 sacks in 4 games. Double digit sacks last year. Tennessee looks bad. He's also under contract beyond this year, but the Lions could get out of the contract next year if they wanted too. he could be the Davenport replacement. Keep in mind that Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams was the defensive line coach in Tennessee.2 points

Probably true and that has made the game worse. One of my biggest complaints about the modern game is there is not enough variety in players. Everyone is a power hitter who strikes out too much. It's been refreshing to see the Tigers get away from that somewhat this year.2 points

Regarding Avila vs Harris I am willing to concede that Al helped build a foundation that allowed Harris to get a jump start to implement his plan. I recall when Ausmus left he talked about them finally putting in systems that other orgs had but it would still take time to see results. Referring to data lakes and that kind or technology. That’s not done overnight. Of course you have to take the next step and execute and get the right people to do that. Harris didn’t, in fact couldn’t, turn this around in the 2 years he’s been here without players and systems Avila brought in. It doesn’t mean Avila shouldn’t have been let go. There wasnt a need for him. You don’t bring in a new POBO yet keep the previous guy around. Two things can be true. Avila wasn’t as horrible as he is portrayed sometimes but Harris made a big difference.2 points

It seems like most of their best players such as Skubal, Carpenter, Geene, Keith, Meadows were developing just fine when Avila's team was here. Others like Torkelson, Manning and Mize were not and they have continued to not develop under the Harris regime. Two other very important pieces - Hinch and Fetter were also acquired by Avila. I know you have some kind of theory where he was ordered to hire then, but the fact is he did hire them. I believe Harris will do better than Avila in the long run, but I am not seeing where this current team was put together entirely by Harris with no help from Avila.2 points

I posted, back in July, that Detroit would not win any League chanpionship with Hinch as Manager. He blew game 4 and especially game 5. Skubal puts two batters on base, Hinch doesn't even have anyone get up in the bullpen. |But why would he? Evreyone knows Skubal is going to pitch out of the jam. After he loads the bases, he hits Rameriz with a pitch and probably everyone, except Hinch, could see what was coming. I suppose Hinch figured he would get all the glory for leaving Skubal to get out of his jam. Just like he probably thought using The rookie Jobe in the 4th game would earn him (Hinch) all the glory for putting in a game winning rookie pitcher. Naturally he probably never considered the effect it would have on Jobe, mentally. But who cares? Certainly not Hinch. He is a moron, proven beyond a doubt in games 4&5 Harris and Ittitch should be livid with anger and should have fired HInch immediatelly.1 point

I would add the training and nutrition aspect as well to be physically and mentally ready for the grind of the season.1 point

Perhaps, it means how he responds to the plans they have for him this off-season. Does he he want to just keep doing what he's been doing or will he show a strong committment to trying something different?1 point

Za'Darius Smith or Cam Jordan is my guess. I see Brad looking at buy low options, vets that can not only set the edge but also create some pass rush. It won't be a big name IMO. No way is he trading multiple 1sts for Crosby and nor do I think Crosby is even on the trade market.1 point

I've listened to about a half of this. I am delighted at the competence of it all. I wouldn't have expected this level of measured, data-informed discussion from Eisenhower doing a presser about the land war in Europe.1 point

I thought Harris' discussion about the tension in Torkelson's approach between 'covering shapes' (basically not taking called strikes) and driving the ball (hunting middle middle mistakes) was interesting and spot on - and then tied directly to Hinch talking about Meadows changing approach against Boyd to stop trying to pull. And it reminds me that almost all of hitting goes back to what Kaline used to talk about - that the first thing for the hitter is to understand is what the pitcher is trying to do.1 point

It's up to Harris to figure out which young players/prospects can be moved to help fill more immediate needs. They're not all going to develop and they all can't play at the same time.1 point

Makes sense. I mean looking at it I can't believe that it wasn't both bones, but the quotes only talking about Tibia were confusing.1 point

I think at this point both sides are playing games with the polling. I'll tell you what my biggest complaint is though. It's when pollsters claim the margin of error on their political polls based on their sample size. Now it's absolutely mathematically valid, that if you draw an *unbiased* sample of size N from a population that the math does tell you exactly what the confidence interval for your result is. But when you are getting less than a 1% response rate on your contact attempts and/or augmenting them with internet surveys that are 100% self-selected, and then applying correction factors to balance your sample according to your *theory* of how your sample relates to the true population, at that point you have no more justification for claiming the unbiased sample confidence interval for your result than the man in the moon.1 point

Hendrickson is the best realistic option but knowing Holmes I'm not sure how realistic it is that he goes that big. Crosby is completely unrealistic. In any event, lets just hope for the Bengals to keep losing so he can shake loose.1 point

I will say this...............You can not replace Hutch, even with a trade for a great player, but instead of moping about it, this team will make this a rallying point.........and the guy leading that attitude will be Hutch. They'll find ways. This is The Opposite of the rest of my life.1 point

I have a feeling some team will get burned by Adames. I don't know which types of players age well (other than heavy players usually don't) but I have a feeling a guy that strikes out as much as he does won't have the skills to compensate for his decreasing bat speed as he ages. Bregman, on the other hand, seems to be a disciplined and skilled batsman who may be able to make some adjustments.1 point

It’s also important to consider that this is a tight knit group right now who will run through walls for each other. They cheer for each other when they get pinch hit for. A massive part of the success the second half of the season was guys being willing to take on any role in any situation and have a good attitude about it when it was their turn to take a seat. Is bringing in some high priced free agents going to shift that attitude back more toward selfish individualism? We are at a point in the rebuild where Tiger Culture is a thing and is an important immeasurable to consider when we add outside help to the team.1 point

There is zero chance, less than zero actually, your gonna get bregman out of Houston for 3 years unless your paying him about 80 million per season.1 point
