  1. I will agree with him that he was treated unfairly. Most people convicted of 34 counts of what he was served jail time. He gets a slap on the wrist because he ran for President and the American People were dumb enough to believe his bull****.

  2. it's the new strategy of the right. Any time there's something going on, look for the first woman or minority involved and suddenly it becomes a DEI thing. The racists are now empowered to be racist again. They don't have to hide in the shadows. As if the world would be completely safe and cool and calm if we'd just have left it to the straight white "christian" men. "You can't even smack a woman on the ass in the office anymore since all this woke and me too bull****..."

  6. America is the woman who says she wants to find a good guy and marries a felon. Nobody wants freedom or fairness, we want excitement and drama. The rich have all the advantages, all the lawyers, experts and algorithms to make the most profit and pay the least wages. We have no one who will stand up to them. There used to be politicians who believed in fairness but now they just want to cash in.

  7. Sabathia belongs. Whitaker belongs too. Being private does not help, but I think the main reason Whitaker is not in the Hall of Fame is because he never had an elite season which is what people remember. I don't believe there is any other player with 75 WAR who never had huge MVP or near MVP season. What he did have was more very good years than almost any middle infielder ever. His consistency and durability was truely remarkable and Hall of Fame worthy.

  9. Ramsey also approaches it from a moral angle. He believes debt is morally wrong, and therefore must be eliminated, regardless of the math. Thats fine, he's entitled to his opinion, what I don't like is that everyone at Ramsey Solutions must toe his line, and anyone who disagrees with him is called stupid. I still think most of what he preaches is good, even if it's a little outdated. A lot better than the garbage young 'uns are being fed on Tik Tok.

  13. There’s an element to the Dan Campbell experience that only works in a few select locations. Detroit, Pittsburgh, Buffalo… maybe Cincinnati or Cleveland… The “we are going to take on the identity of this city” piece to his intro press conference is real. He did. Meanwhile Mike McDaniel took on the identity of the city of Miami and it appears to have led to a Charmin soft football team and a cocaine addiction. That’s not to say Campbell wouldn’t have success in Miami, but I don’t think he would be the cult hero that he is here.

  14. He's only half right. There is nothing wrong with spending the money if you are willing to raise it. The real problem is that most of the GOP wants to spend money just as much as the dems, they just don't want to take the responsibility for raising any.

  15. why does anyone think the asylum system got backed-up by the millions? - Because no-one would pay the bill to expand the ability to process people. Lack of funding has been at the heart of immigration chaos since Reagan. Passing more laws will pretty much make no difference if funding doesn't materialize for them to executed.

  17. Pretty standard to build an emergency fund, invest in your 401K only enough to hit the employer match, then start paying off high interest debt, then go as hard as you can on your Roth. 401K's are not that hot. Normally they have higher fees than IRA's. You also have a lot more choices of what to invest in with an IRA. Another big benefit for someone just starting out or rebuilding. You can pull your Roth contributions out at anytime without a penalty or paying taxes. You only pay taxes on the gains. Sort of acts like a second emergency fund.

  18. One time when I was listening to Dave Ramsey, a woman called in and she had a frozen embryo and a deposit or something to that effect of $1,200. She was coming up on a deadline to either get pregnant or lose the $1,200. She was basically saying she can't afford a child right now but didn't want to lose the $1,200. Ramsey told her to get pregnant since he's so pro birth. I couldn't believe someone was telling a person who was struggling with their finances to go have a kid. For the most part he is good at advising people how to get their finances in order, but he sometimes blurs the line between religion and sound financial advice.

  20. He's on the fringe of prosperity gospel in my opinion: Wealth is an indication of someone's spiritual worth. Poor people must be doing something wrong in their lives and if they'd just pray more (and send money) they'd reap the benefits.

  21. My Amazon Photos app does a "this day in history" kind of thing and 4 years ago I took some screen shots of tweets where a guy made the case for Chet Lemon and the HOF. He's got a decent argument. Not saying he should be in but given the amount of attention others get I think he should also be in those discussions. He was better than we remember relative to the other CF's. Start from the bottom picture. I couldn't control the order.

  26. Anyone who says there is such a rule is just straight up wrong. It's *always* a matter of comparative returns. If the interest rate on you mortgage is higher than your likely return, pay it first, if not, don't. In general over the last couple of decades it has not been hard to find investments that pay substantially more than the interest on most mortgages. That may not be true for small investors right now, but the point is that it's a situation that has to be constantly evaluated.

  31. Is that a Judge or a parole board recommendation? TBH, I don't know what the complaint is, PizzaGate ended up as a property crime and 1st time offenders for property crimes are generally not hammered that hard. My question is what parole was he violating now? Was he still on parole from 2017 or something since? - Story didn't say. Pretty stupid thing to pull a gun on a Cop over a parole violation unless you're looking at some kind of heavy time.

  39. Interim coaches almost never get the gig, especially when they don't completely turn things around (which is very difficult in the NFL). The Raiders, who can **** up hiring a coach with the best of 'em, should have kept Rich Bisaccia because he did an amazing job and came within a questionable referee call from beating the eventual AFC champs (Bengals). So then, the next time they had an interim they did the opposite and kept him, and I actually think he deserved the shot because he did a good job last year. The Raiders failings are coming from the office more than the locker room. How do you expect a team that has an owner with that haircut to figure it out?

  43. In regards to the conspiracy theorist stuff, I saw a video on twitter of a guy saying Trump was playing 4d chess regarding the 'Gulf of America' and the reason was that Biden's recent executive order bans offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico. Trump changes the name and hence he nullifies the executive order! Oh man, Trump is so much smarter than us..... @MotownWebGuy, we need a facepalm emoji added to the hot keys for this thread.
