  1. Welcome to 2025, where you and I are the new deplorables.

  2. Yes, HRC was 100% correct about there being a basket of deplorables.

  6. After Biden's performance in the debate, I think there was no way he was going to win. That was a stunningly bad performance. I know Trump's debates are always a joke, but it doesn't matter with him. America loves a loud mouth bumbling idiot.

  7. I believe in humanity and have empathy, so even if he’s committed the things that he’s been accused of the cruel punishment doesn’t fit the crime. To not give a crap what happens to him is wrong.

  9. I only just noticed the line "Welcome to CECOT. Whoever enters here doesn't leave." The first prisoners at Auschwitz were told the only way out is through the chimney. Seems oddly similar.

  10. All due respect, most of the rest of us could see very clearly that it was always coming to this, that it was only about the super rich getting the money and the rest of us getting the shaft. How many recent “respectable” Republican presidents (and Clinton) provided the uber-rich generous tax cuts while ballooning the deficit at the same time? It’s true—you can easily look it up. Here, I’ll even get you started on the first one: https://www.cbpp.org/research/the-legacy-of-the-2001-and-2003-bush-tax-cuts. The main thing that makes the Trump tax cuts different is that added feature of cruelty to poor people for sport.

  11. People are weird. They will crap on the person who made billions by building a business. Then turn around and worship a family whose mom pimped out her daughter's sex tape.

  13. Beautifully put. This Tigers organization is like no other Tigers org in my lifetime. It is everything I have wanted to see in this team for at least the least quarter century. I’m glad I’ve lived long enough to see it.

  14. Same here, but it’s not worth it. My parents are worried about my disabled sister losing her Medicare.

  15. I've never rooted so hard for a player exception. Langdon can't possibly be this shortsighted to take back Monk and his ugly contract, right? RIGHT?

  16. Other than the Covid period, we have had strong employment throughout the Biden and both Trump presidencies which probably doesn't say much about either of them.

  17. Before last year we went about a decade where are only All Stars were the token team reps so getting 4 potential starters all of whom are worthy is certainly nice to see. Definitely makes me more interested to watch the game for a change.

  18. New month, same rant. It’s so misleading to refer to this as our unemployment rate. They are preliminary, unadjusted, employment numbers from June. We will get a more accurate picture on what the numbers really should be next month and won’t know the actual number until next February due to our antiquated and easily manipulated survey system from BLS. Side note, this is terrible news for Dear Leader’s calls for a Fed Rate cut.

  21. Looks like in 1961 the Tigers had Bunning, Cash, Colavito and Kaline all starting one of the AS games. In fact, the three Tigers batted 1-2-3 in the lineup that game. Colavito's HR provided the AL only run and Kaline had 2 of the 4 AL hits.

  27. Kahnle does tire. He usually fades towards the end of the season. Probably just a bad game and move on. But no doubt Detroit needs to seize the opportunity this year and add a couple bullpen arms. And perhaps a monte python killer rabbit mascot to rumble with paws

  34. I personally have no loyalty to either party. I have been voting Democrat only because there is no other choice. In the past, there have been local elections where I voted Republican and I'd like to be able to get back to that some day, but right now there is no other choice but to vote against Republicans. If they keep winning, we'll lose the country as I know it.

  35. I called John James. His DC number I only get dead air, and his Michigan number I get a voicemail. I left a voicemail letting him know my intention to volunteer for the Benson campaign and tell as many people in Michigan as I can how he voted to take away their healthcare if he votes for this bill. I encourage others here to call his office. He's running for governor so he's the one rep we should be focusing on in Michigan. His DC number is (202) 225-4961 and Michigan number is (586) 498-7122.

  39. I’m necessarily taking about any specific Tiger prospect but it seems like we may need to change expectations on what constitutes rushed up. 5 players picked in the top 15 in last years draft are already in the majors with less than a full year of minor league ball. 9 players from the first round are already up from 2023 draft. Granted these are all college drafted players but the world is definitely changing. The time needed to season up prospects in the minors has been sped up.
