That mostly takes the stench out of the late season collapse. Not totally because I care about the regular season and I wanted a division title, but they are now in pretty much the same position as they would have been without the collapse. This season will no longer be remembered by most fans as the biggest choke ever. So, now we can relax and enjoy the rest of the post-season!6 points

I’m liking that Ramirez got thrown or tagged out three times in the last 10 innings.4 points

I know he's the enemy but I like Jose Ramirez. He a great player that gives 110% and he's kind of old school. He chose to resign with Cleveland probably for a lesser amount than go for a big payday in the FA market. That's very rare today. As a bonus he knocked the snot out of Tim Anderson. I just wish he played for the Tigers. Great game today for the Tigers. So glad they got it together at the plate. Perez finally got a hit when they needed it and Hinch left Carpenter in against the leftie and it paid off.3 points

I'll make sure to play Centerfield by John Fogerty at the start of my on-air shift. It worked on Tuesday. Maybe that's the answer.3 points

I actually don’t care what happens after this. This is so sweet, anything after this is gravy. It would be great to keep moving on, but I’m just savoring this right now. Beating Cleveland, the team that beat us 16 times one year or whatever? Damn this makes me happy.2 points

That's 100% on Tork. No pitcher would have been ready for him to fire it over like that. Was totally unnecessary.2 points

Can the pen record 12 outs without a run? I'm doubtful. They need more.2 points

Genuinely feels like it will take the pitching staff being perfect the rest of the way and the Guardians pen making a mistake that a little leaguer could take advantage of.2 points

Impressive job by Perez to just end the inning himself instead of making us watch Tork strikeout again first.2 points

I want them to win today but I’m not going to be upset if they lose. Without going full TP, I’m pretty much done with this team and their infuriating approach at the plate.2 points

For me it's usually measure twice, cut once, quiet curse, return to menards, buy more material, measure 3 times, start to cut, assess, continue cutting and complete.2 points

Who at the deadline at their play level at the time would’ve you replaced? Who was out there that was an upgrade and what would it have cost? I personally think Harris was in a tough place there to make any changes offensively and decided the best course of action was to ride the horses that built your lead there. Now looking back on it sure should we have made changes, probably. The problem with our offense now isn’t the players that were over performing to their careers. The biggest problem is our better players who would’ve never been replaced anyway simply aren’t performing even at replacement level for over a month now.2 points

He can't hit lefties, so Hinch took a calculated risk that Jones would get a hit in a key spot as a pinch hitter. It's the first time he's done that with Greene, but it wasn't a terrible idea.2 points

The "Christian Church" as a whole in the US is lost. The remnants that reject its current state are even seeking to abandon the term "Christian" as their identifier altogether as hopelessly polluted and are looking for a reformulation of what to call themselves.2 points

I don't think and don't want them to make a big trade for a corner. With McNeil (and other defensive players) coming back soon and Reed coming back this season, I don't want them to make a big trade for a corner. Now if they decided to go all in for a DE or are nervous about Decker and go with a OT, I would consider that. What I think we might see is a trade for a veteran corner that has a contract that is easy to get out of if Arnold or Robertson go out for a significant period of time as well. This is where I think Holmes excels at. Earlier in the season everyone was getting all worked up about getting another DE but now CB might be the highest need. The key is to be patient, especially when your winning. The defense has looked good. No reason to trade draft capitol and take on salaries if your winning. What happens if someone on the OL gets injured, that could then be the new hot thing everyone wants to trade for. Its a long season and your positions of need could change in one week. No reason to get desperate if your winning.2 points

I agree with Flaherty. But this game is on the offense. Its time to be seen.2 points

Dan was talking about him being an ex-shortstop and by far the Tigers' best fielding pitcher. The catch and throw to 1st on the high chopper was a 1st rate play for a regular middle IF.1 point

Media reform is step one. People have to demand it. I can't be optimistic about any of the steps. People in the thrall of this autocratic moment are pretty steeped in it. In a normal political environment the Christians would see that Trump meets all the check boxes for the anti-Christ.1 point

With it not being a season ending injury, I doubt they do anything substantial. Certainly not sending away significant draft capital. What do you do with Arnold, Reed, and Stingley in 2026? I'm definitely not ready to give up on Arnold. If you're looking at four weeks for Reed, that's Browning, Mahomes, Mayfield, and McCarthy/Wentz, followed by the Bye Week. Obviously Mahomes and Mayfield can burn us in the air, but I don't foresee any addition being able to counter those two in time anyway. I think we are probably going to be better off just going next man up until Reed can return.1 point

Good to put game #2 behind us quickly @Biff Mayhem thank you. Good call! 💗1 point

Take the term of the contract you want to offer Skubal. Divide that by 2. Go back that many years and see who the top pitchers were. How are they doing now? I'm not necessarily saying let him walk, but between comp pick for him (maybe Mize too?), Competitive Balance A round (if revenues don't boot us from that round), the 2027 draft could be pretty lucrative even with a playoff appearance next year.1 point
