Grocery delivery sucks, and I have only ever used it when I had COVID. It is marked up, and they routinely take liberties or struggle picking out produce. It makes me appreciate how much of a skill grocery shopping is and how much it helps me up my kitchen game.

I was in Canada for about 40 minutes on Sunday. Ran over the bridge, up Riverside then back through the tunnel. The boarder guys in Canada are great. They high five you and cheer you on. The people in Windsor are fun too. The border guys in the US are what you'd expect. They look like they hate their jobs and hate you. People were having fun and that's not allowed in the US anymore.

I did a camping trip into the Maritimes a zillion years ago back in my early 20s. Bay of Fundy, Prince Edward Island and part of the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. I've been wanting to go back ever since. Highlights on this trip include Bay of Fundy, as well as Halifax and Sydney NS. A couple arraigned tours, mostly a few hours walking around the port areas. I loved Montreal. I went pre Covid and the mix of cultural attractions like museums and strip clubs could not be beat. Truly magical place.

Heading out Sunday for a seven day cruise of Canada's Atlantic Provences, particularly New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It should be interesting to see local reactions. I'm sure they'll accept our $$$. My wife has a business acquaintance that own an Island off the NS coast near Sydney. I've heard it's on the market. If I could just find a few dozen well heeled friends to help finance it.

I am glad the went-on-for-way-too-long IPA craze is starting to wane, and that pilsners and lagers are on the way back. It got to be too much when i would go to a bar known for its beer and the menu would be all IPAs, weisses, sours, and fruit beers. Bring back St Pauli Girl!

do you think sports teams should ban alcohol sales and forbid players from drinking? alcohol is addictive too. should they ban facebook and tik tok and other social media sites from advertising, that is said to be addictive too. much of the things we like to do in life have externalities. your tolerance for those externalities is a matter of personal choice. same with the existence of gambling and "gambling addiction." i dont find it bothersome that some people gamble too much. nor do i find it worrisome that leagues want to make money off it, or that its legalized (other than those annoying kevin hart commercials). some people can handle it, and some people cant. i just dont find the argument persuasive that the presence of legal gambling is suddenly infecting the purity of our sporting events with the scourge of greed and gambling. its always existed. games have always been fixed. people have always looked to make money with insider information. same with stock markets. ymmv. and thats ok too.

this stuff went on for years before gambling was legalized in america. it goes on all over the world all the time. and has forever. every once in a while you get players who make it obvious or someone gets caught and snitches. but this has little to do with fanduel.

Those games make money before they produce a single game. They sell the board spaces to local businesses.

This has been Harris biggest weakness. Short term deals are good in theory, but Harris has spent decent money on cahna, maeda, Cobb, Morton, paddock, brebbia, kahnle, Torres, and flaherty. It’s not being cheap, but i would argue his allocation of scarce resources has been god awful.
