Now that the DOW is back under 50,000 are we allowed to ask Pam Bondi again why she is covering for pedophiles?8 points

They only back the blue when they beat up and kill liberals and brown people. When they investigate right wing bad guys and girls...well it's the deep state then.3 points

I have to say, yesterday at work i had the album version of this playing and it was a moment of pure zen. It matches up to the alienation I have been dealing with in the current regime. I can only imagine the impact on a dude in 1970 on his way to or in Vietnam.3 points

There is no reason a player should be guilted into taking pity on a major league team and doing them a "solid" by retiring to save them a little money. Owning a franchise in the only legally-protected monopoly in America is as risk-free a venture as there is on this entire planet. I see no reason every last risk factor must be removed from the game just to protect those poor hedge fund owners and private equity firms who own the teams. They want to own a big league ball club and bask in glory among their peers at Bilderberg and Davos and epstein islands while raking in even more billions from them? Fine, then let them have to continue paying players while they are injured. **** those guys.2 points

So I took a hack at trying to figure out how many net runs the Tigers gain through their taking extra bases. I gave it the situations from this table: https://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/majors/2025-baserunning-batting.shtml And run expediencies from this table: https://tangotiger.net/re24.html And ask it to determine runs gained and lost depending on whether the runner stopped after one base, made it an extra base, or got thrown out at that extra base. I asked for a sortable table and got this, at this link: https://claude.ai/public/artifacts/ae435d12-66cf-4f68-a634-73b59162a9cb Here's a pasted table. Bottom line: Tigers are second in runs gained but last in runs lost. However, that works out to having them rank fifth in net runs gained, behind Brewers, Dodgers, Jays, and Reds. pretty good company, and substantially above the league average. That means that despite leading the league in outs lost trying to take the extra base, it was a net positive for us.2 points

You can't expect them to pay all that money for Valdez and Verlander and give us nice uniforms too.2 points

People actually bet on spring training games. See, to me that is an absolute indication that you have a gambling addiction. Betting on games where the teams don't even care if they win or lose.2 points

Dallas is nice but like LA it takes so long to go anywhere. Once you are outside of the downtown area it's like the Novi/Northville area times 2000. Miles and miles of subsdivisions and shopping centers. Hit a main artery and you'll see a center anchored by Lowe's. Then the next light a center anchored Costco. Then a center anchored by their grocery chain. Repeat for miles. No charm or character. And they shut down from June to Sept like we do in the winter. When I was there i had to cycle through 3 shirts a day.1 point

This is Putin kinda stuff. We shut them off of any oil imports, starve their population and then says a "friendly takeover????" This has to be against every international law on the books. If it isn't, it should be. These people call themselves Christians? WTF is happening to America....1 point

I just want to point out that Cade is averaging 1 block and 1.5 steals per game.1 point

Emails and phone records are recorded and stored on most Americans daily. Its why they have the huge data center out in Utah or New Mexico...Wired magazine reported this 15 or 20 years ago. My response has always been...I don't have anything to hide...go ahead...have at it. The people I worry about are the ones who DO complain about it. So...what does Kash have to hide? Russian communications?1 point

No, that's not me saying that, that's them saying they want their money back. That's why it's in quotes.1 point

I definitely do my best to support companies that are more in line with my values, when I can. There are so many 'small' companies that are actually owned by much larger ones that it can be hard.1 point

The not-tanking bulls just lost their 11th straight game. to portland. the blazers sat avidja and clingnan and still beat the bulls by almost double digits on the road. in fairness, the bulls may not have been tanking. they chose NOT to play patrick williams, a sure sign that they may actually be trying to win a few games down the stretch.1 point

Buddha is our resident curmudgeon; he'll find any way to downplay the Pistons and also find any excuse to **** on the Bulls so that's fun at least.1 point

With a 90 degree real-feel temp, most folks aren't venturing out in the afternoon, even if they are snowbirds from Berwyn, IL. We did a Spring Training Trip to AZ several years ago. Went to a game at HOHoCam (??) when the Cubs played there. Metal seats under a partial awning. It was brutal.1 point

I hope they have a plan to get Cade some rest down the stretch. Home court is very overrated. If they can secure it naturally, cool. But it's not worth fighting the Thunder/Spurs for it if it burns Cade out. He plays heavy minutes and has a heavy workload during those minutes. Plus, he doesn't use the defensive side of the ball to rest like a lot of other stars do.1 point

Someday in late Fall, we will have a good laugh about our spring training record. I say get the losses out of our system right now.1 point
