One play away...That phantom OPI call on Teslaa on the final drive against Pittsburgh took the Sun God game winning TD off the board3 points

What I’m hearing is that the only thing stopping Maxx Crosby to the Lions is the same medical team that twice green lit the signing of Marcus Davenport.3 points

So I went outside. Guess what MAGA Troll is still a troll and is afraid to have any serious discussions. I guess this is the way Neo Christians talk these days1 point

Is that what that’s supposed to mean? They’re just mad they can’t touch it without their fat asses falling over and they need help getting up because they’ve **** themselves in the process and they don’t want to risk getting their new under armor shirt dirty. They can’t go into dunhams anymore because the clerk there called the cops on them for lurking near the fitting rooms.1 point

Apparently. All these responses share one thing in common: they are flung at you anytime they are unable to defend the actual issue being discussed. Once I understood that, it was actually comforting to know that they know they've been beaten, and all they're trying to do is trigger me and follow them down that hole, leaving behind the issue they can't defend. It's Kremlin 101 ****.1 point

“… no credible evidence against him”. Jesus Christ. Nothing changes. Victim statements mean nothing. Investigations not done. People paid off. Cover ups. Nothing changes. Sexual assault victims are always at the disadvantage, and predators know this. And RICH predators laugh in your face. It’s ****ing nauseating.1 point

TBH, I could believe (don't say I do at this point) that Trump is the type that is always like a moth to the flame of men who really are libertine, but has always been too much of coward to be one himself (it's certainly not his morality that limits him!) so he talks the part to try and act the part, then disappears when anything is happening. Saying I *could* believe that. But I would say at this point there is no credible predonderance of evidence exonerating him opposed to the claims against him. Generally those that have defended him have too much skin in that game themselves. For me though - that he is a terrible person is a given, I don't need to know he is any more beyond the pale than I already know him to be from his actions in the public sphere when the light are on. But more to the point he is a terribly incompetent and dangerous Chief Exec and that would be true if his sexual rectitude matched Mother Teresa's. I'm only interested in the case against him if it has potential to get him out of office!1 point

They can make the team by showing real improvement in skills over past years. If they have good numbers, but they don't show pysical readiness, they won't make the team. Often times both will happen at the same time.1 point

My epidural has yielded good results so far. My tingling is still there, but is much better. My mom died 2 years ago, she had alzheimer's; and I watch my dad, and he has dementia. I can't tell the difference between the two, my dad does ask the same questions over, but mostly he's pretty sharp. I enjoy our time together, but I miss golfing with him with my son, 3 lefties.1 point

The Raiders broke the news themselves with their passive aggressive statement about the Ravens “backing out” of the deal. They're the origin of the drama, but I also get why they’re pissed.1 point

I'm getting young Gabe Kapler vibes from him. Remember when Gabe was a prospect - he had some sort of website (they were new then) calling him a "future Hall Of Fame" player with a shirtless picture of him. The Tiger strength and conditioning coach had that statement and picture blown up into a big banner at Spring Training to humble him a little. I certainly hope it goes better going forward, but this guy needs a little ego deflation -- especially in this sport. I also seem to remember "The Little Unit" Ryan Anderson bragging about striking out Ken Griffey Jr. and Edgar Martinez in practices and those guys giving him a box of baseballs to sign as a way of mocking him. His ego was out of control too. Never pitched in the Majors. Was trending that way when injuries and ignoring advice derailed him. He's a chef now, I believe.1 point

The Vikings are feeling the effects if the cap and their free spending. They had to cut players, are stuck with overpaid players, and haven’t been active in free agency.1 point

He was clearly not quite ready. That said I'd not be shocked to see Clark patrolling CF in Comerica on a regular basis this September.1 point

A reason that the narrative has gained popularity is the success of a few teams with large amounts of restructured dollars over the past few years. The Eagles, Chiefs, 49ers, Lions, and Rams are a few. It seems to be working for almost everyone but the Saints, Cowboys, and Dolphins, who have all put themselves in the laughing stock category of the league. I will agree the common thought the cap will keep rising so it doesn’t matter isn’t really accurate. The cap will continue to outpace rising cost of players but the difference between the two isn’t so large. Contract value has exploded the last 5 years with no signs of stopping. The way around it is to draft a young player that can take the place of the aging vet that you are tied too. That will help offset some of the damage to the cap. That is much easier said than done. FWIW, I’m a firm believer the Lions goal needs to be to at least get to a Super Bowl. If that crates chaos and 3 win seasons down the road, so be it. They have to take full advantage of the window they have right now.1 point

yeah, you are right I forgot that they increased the supply of interleague games so much that they do average about 3 per day over the course of the season, so early on you could have more days with 5 (or 7, 9, etc) for sure. Opening weekend there are five interleague matchups the next set of series has seven The third set of series has seven The fourth set has five The fifth set has seven So, I think it’s safe to say the interleague series distribution is definitely front loaded. It could be for various reasons, but if I had to guess it would be for money reasons. They probably prefer increased division matchups down the stretch to maximize drama. And to the extent these odd matchups provide a level of novelty, maybe it helps get people to the park early in the year when attendance and interest tends to lag. Ability to make up a rainout could definitely be a factor, although teams had the same issue with non-division league matchups because the teams don’t make more than one trip to any team outside of their division. That does sometimes lead to the weird late season situation where a make-up from earlier in the season is played at the opponent’s stadium with home/road flipped, which is not an option for the interleague. Anyway, it sure seems like the league is blowing through the interleague games early. Nice catch.1 point

I am scheduled for Cochlear Implant surgery on June 11th. This gives me 3 months for possible hearing return and for the doctor to fight with the insurance company. Getting this in one ear- things will sound very weird and I don't know if I want to go through with it. I could get by with one ear, but I am worried something could happen to that ear and then I'd be in serious trouble. They put a magnet in your head and then you stick the device onto your skull behind the ear. So if music sounds really weird I can always shut it off, but music is so constant for me. . I mean constant. I'd say that 90% of my day I have some sort of music playing. Still don't know exactly what happened. They started me on a diurectic to see if fluid needs to drain.1 point

What an absolute failure by Team USA leadership thinking they had already clinched a spot in the next round when in reality they hadn’t. If Mexico beats Italy and scores less than 5 runs while doing it, USA goes home.1 point

Do you think you are making some point? Valencia hit .353 and got sent back. Clark wasn't making the team no matter what he hit. They want the younger guys playing full time in minor league camp, and there isn't enough playing time anymore for the younger guys in the big camp as they ramp up for opening day. You can't read any more into it than that.1 point

As i've said before when every above-average player is putting up historical numbers: this is just steroid baseball era all over again. brady anderson and luis gonzalez belting 50 home runs. the nba players dont care about defense and the league has made it too easy to score. i understand the players are better, but theyre not THIS MUCH better.1 point

All joking aside, it is a bush league look for the NFL, not just the Ravens, that a trade like this can get reported as a done deal then invalidated.1 point

The Raiders have shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars in the last two days under the belief they didn't have Crosby's salary on the books. With the knowledge he's got to pass a physical anyway, I don't see why you don't see what the cost would be. Is it that crazy to think you might get him for less than a 1st round pick now? They almost have to get rid of him in the next 20ish hours, and a lot of teams have already gone in a different direction with their money.1 point

So weird that Team Italy has 3 players from Detroit and Team USA has none.1 point

nobody said they "exclusively" draft fpr need, but they DO DRAFT FOR NEED. Cb was their biggest need and they drafted two of them. dt was a huge need and they reached for one in round one. jaymo, gibbs, campbell, laporta were drafted when the lions needed EVERYTHING.1 point

Is he not a quintessential Brad Holmes player now? A talented player with an injury history. Check! Said injury history reduces the players market value. Check! Guy who eats, sleeps, and breathes football. Check! Guy who is a lockerroom leader. Check!1 point

i agree. that's why i hated the deadline. they did nothing when they have their best shot at the finals in 15 years. assuming that "because the core is young" means they will be this good every year is fool's gold. theyre about to be capped out but refused to make their move for a robin to cade's batman, all because duren "catches lobs real good." as you point out, the lions were built to win for 5 years, dont worry about losing that nfc championship game, theyre so young! and then the next year the entire defense is injured, and two years later you finish last in the division. progress isnt always linear. teams dont always get better. the league only bails out the spurs and idiots only hand star players to the lakers, not detroit. i get that ivey was an albatross and not an asset, but was heurter really the BEST you could do? you couldnt have thrown a couple seconds in with ivey to get dosunmu? or even coby white? as flawed as they are they would be more productive than heurter. anyway, rant over. trajan really missed, imo. i hope it doesnt cost them this year. and as far as matching up against the knicks, i wouldnt assume they could beat miami or charlotte right now. they should, but that assumes ausar is healthy.1 point
