Jim Cowan Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Pitching is sort of a different category, the Tigers always had a specific role for the Fat Dominican Righthanded Reliever Quote

I'd guess that they are building up arm strength and conditioning like spring training in practice and yet letting him get his timing down live against pitching. Quote

I'm guessing it was just for precautionary reasons cause I haven't seen anything that mentions him getting hurt. Quote

A little girl, I'm guessing early grade schooler, in the picnic area got the ball from an older boy, maybe big brother? Anywho, she walked up to the fence, stepped up on the foot railing to see over the fence, cocked her arm to throw, and then the camera cut away. So now I'm left to wonder, did she throw it back in? And if she did, what did the CF do? Did he toss it back up to the big brother? Baddoo drilled a HR high off of the building in back of RF in the game. I'm not sure if the RF even moved. Quote
1776 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Well…it appears as though my hope of seeing Max Clark this week in Richmond will not come to fruition as he is still at High A. This week is the only trip Erie will make to Richmond. 😢 Quote

kdog Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Vierling played in right field yesterday. I assume the clock is ticking on Jace Jung. Quote

Considering Vierling is almost back, Javy Baez is playing quite well, as is McKinstry, Ibanez is loved vs LHPs, and with Lee/McGonigle/Rainer tiered in the pipeline — I can see Jung being traded since he’s still a well-regarded prospect and could potentially net a good return. Offer him up as a 2B of the future to a rebuilding team for pitching depth. Quote

He also didn't play the full game, and it was only his first game in the field. It sounds like they were wanting to use the full 20 days alloted when the assignment started last week. I don't think an activation is imminent until we have consecutive full games in the field. I could be wrong. Quote

The other question is does he come back before he plays 3B? If so, he's probably off the table for 3B with the Tigers as well for any immediate future. Maybe a reason they want to give Jung the longest look they can stand despite the lack of any sign of life in the bat. Quote
