My Twitter feed for some reason is getting overwhelmed with Bears fans and they think Justin Fields is the greatest thing ever. They're showing highlights saying Rodgers couldn't do X and Fields is already the best QB in the division. It's insanity.

They've been in draft season for far longer than we have. It leads to delusions of grandeur and paranoia when exposed for extended periods of time and/or when combined with alcohol.

I know from many years of experience.

Sun Tzu would tell you the easiest enemy to defeat is the one that is not self-aware.

Sounds like Rodgers could very well be out in Green Bay.

"League sources" i.e. Green Bay Packers front office executives.

It is really surprising to me how antagonistic they seem to have been with Rodgers. I get that Rodgers is a little prickly, but how they've handled their transition, going back to the drafting of Jordan Love, seems ridiculously short sighted.

These days, if you are taking a QB in Round 1, you better expect that person to play right away. Instead, they wasted a chance to get a QB in his prime one of several talented offensive players still on the board (Tee Higgins and D'Andre Swift included).

Say what you will about Karen Rodgers, but Green Bay really botched this transition. A Hall of Fame player deserves better than this.

I don't have a problem with it. Payton quit on the Saints when things were looking tough to pursue another job. What he should do if we wants out of the contract is to call their bluff and see he is returning to coach the Saints. Either they fire Allen or they let Payton out of the contract.

Neither of them benefits if a team wants him but doesn't want to meet the asking price. They're better off accepting a 2nd Round pick for him than saying no and making him collect his massive paycheck on Fox.

The length of time that is passing without new coaches being hired (sans Reich in Carolina) probably says a lot. I would expect DeMeco Ryans, Jonathan Gannon, and Shane Steichen to all be getting second interviews at some point and at least 2/3 to get a job. If any of these teams were going for broke for Payton, the deal would have been done by now.

I was out running errands -  what happened (in graphic detail) to Brock Purdy?

He had his arm hit as he threw. Didn't look like much, but he was seen telling Shanahan that he couldn't go, and the broadcast reported later that there was nerve damage. He should be okay, but doesn't have feeling in his hand, which obviously makes it hard to grip and throw the ball.
