Luciferase is what makes lightning bugs light. And here you thought those are just innocent looking little fliers. They are really all just NSA micro-drones sopping up all your conversations - or at least all the ones you aren't already giving up to Alexa and Siri.  :classic_tongue:

Found proof of Luciferase in vaccines.

Of course the rich part is that the devil is never explicitly named Lucifer anywhere in the Bible. There is a reference to the 'Son of the Dawn' in Isaiah, which in Latin sort of translates to "Lucifer" (used by Wycliff and kept by the KJV translators) but the referent could as easily have been to fallen Babylonian royalty as to the devil, who actually gets almost no mention in the OT after the serpent in Genesis other than in Job, and it's a different kind of character there. All of our common demonology is Renaissance recapitulation of old Babylonian paganism. It has almost nothing to do with the Hebrew Bible and not much with the N.T. either.

No such thing as Babylonian paganism... did you mean Babylonian polytheism?

Also... Babylonian polytheism is from the original Sumerian polytheism, which predates Babylon by about 2,500 years...

Sumer - the birthplace of civilization.

No... the apple is knowledge.

And an "all-knowing" god hates that common folk gain knowledge.

If they gain knowledge... they know that "god" is just a man-made folk-story to explain the world, death, weather phenomena, etc...

"god" wants people stupid and compliant. Therefore an apple from the tree of knowledge is anathema. Also known as a "sin".

The way I read the allegory is that there is no moral responsibility for an evil action prior to moral knowledge. It's interesting that some of the Greeks took it in a different direction and said evil (sin) comes through lack of knowledge - that no-one who understands that something is evil would do it. So a perfectly knowing person would never commit an evil act. I guess I can see how either view works.

The truth is leaking out…

There's an op-ed writer for the local paper (a good paper, but with a highly slanted conservative op-ed page) who tweeted out last night after the election results came in that Dems should "stop gaslighting" by saying that CRT isn't being taught in our schools.

I have no idea what that means given that I'm not aware of any schools in our local area that actually have CRT as part of their curriculum. I'm guessing that this is the case everywhere in the United States as well.

That's the big problem I have with this whole debate - you either engage the debate in terms of how it is framed by conservative media, or you get accused of 'gaslighting.' Just a big waste of time and energy IMO

is it a waste of time for the conservatives when it works at the polls?  It got their people out and got Youngkin elected.

All the Trump lovers are now engaged because they think our school boards are communists indoctrinating our kids with "white people are evil" and want to make them go to the bathroom next to a trans person who will rape them and they can't call the cops because they're defunded and they cant pray because they banned Christmas and it's all goin to hell.....

Probably not, but it sure as shit is a waste of time for me or anyone else wanting to engage that.... I'm not going to convince someone who accuses anyone stating a basic fact (such as "no schools in DFW have CRT as part of the curriculum) of gaslighting.

Disagreements in politics and on policy are fine, but it's different when neither side of the political debate can agree on verifiable facts.

The people that believe that were going to vote against 'the socialist' no matter what.  The dems appear to be doing with white rural america what republicans have done with black urban america, not even bother to court them.  For the more educated voters, that voted Biden a year ago, they were upset about teaching as a whole and issues around CRT, like possibly kids at home for 18 months when many other states seemed to find a way.

All schools are different. I don't think CRT is in many schools yet but some are trying to get it in. CRT isn't something new as it's been around for a while.

Fortunately all my kids are grown and not in school anymore.  Our small podunk district is one that's had a lot of issues with this.  I haven't followed it real close but I know they hired someone to "Racial Inequity" position. Then there was an email from someone on the school board asking how to introduce CRT into the curriculum which resulted in heated board meetings where the board denied everything. So its out there and being considered in some places.

I hate racism and think if they truely wanted to make it go away they would stop stoking the fires of racism. There's too many people making money off it to let it go away. It will never go away completely because some people of all races will never change.

Could someone here explain what CRT is.

And what exactly is wrong with it?

What states are explicitly promoting it

Also what is wrong with teaching Toni Morrison to students in an advanced English class, but watching shows like The Sopranos or Marvel Movies, or even the Star Wars Sagas is OK.

We don't drink milk.  Drives my mother in law crazy.  She thinks its because we're some kind of hippies but I'm lactose intolerant and our kids never really got into cereal.  So we don't buy it.  When we need it for a recipe I get the smallest one I can find and we end up throwing it away.

Same. I can never use up even the smallest size of milk in time. I usually get almond milk if I want to have cereal, but even that is pretty rare.

The family seems large but not that large. That's over 1.5 gallons of milk per day. Where do they store all this milk? They have to have multiple refrigerators and/or go to the grocery store daily. The media uses a non typical family with a milk addition to try to highlight inflation. Milk hasn't even been under $2 nationally in a long time.
