Moros I says that, if anything, McGonigle may have been “under hyped”.

Which is why the AG race which a lot of people including my wife thought was a lost cause (interesting to use that term about something in Virginia) was so damn important. Jay Jones is a freak and shouldn't be the AG but he's definitely filling an important role and could salvage his reputation with a successful defense of the referendum.

The most interesting thing I heard at the press conference was Todd saying that if Lucas Raymond took 100 more shots on goal, with his shooting percentage, he would be a 40 goal scorer. He scored 25 this season and his career high is 31 so far. Todd also said, about the 2C role, something like “I guess that’s the role that Copp ended up playing,” suggesting that he was playing out of position due to lack of talent. Todd and Stevie agreed that Marco’s slump had to do with him being asked to play too many roles (due to lack of talent). They still seem high on him and Danielson. Stevie seemed more subdued than last season’s presser. He acknowledged that throughout the season he and Todd didn’t believe they were as good as their record but he felt like they had done enough to justify the Faulk trade. He was clearly discouraged by the collapse, but he did not seem totally surprised by it. He kept appealing to his own experience to say to people like Larkin and others that it is harder than you think to get over the hump.

In nearly every mock draft I've seen Blake Miller should be available at #17. Blake Miller seems like an absolute road grader, who loves the game of football. A Dan Campbell guy, who will run through walls for the love of the game. Now, mock drafts by analysts aren't a science by any means at all and teams boards look all kinds of different. Most mocks get an incredible amount of pick incorrect. But if there is a strong belief that Blake Miller will be available at pick 17, I see no need to trade up for Proctor and give up additional draft assets when we have so many needs. That's just my uneducated view though.

My prediction, Brad will do something nobody expects. Pretty safe bet.

The ball never touched the ground. I don't understand/agree with that rule.

I wonder if he's feeling too much weight of people expecting him to be the next hotshot prospect (after Clark of course)? Of course, maybe I'm reading way too much into it but his K numbers are AWFUL so far this young season. Striking out at a 43.4% clip. (23 Ks in 53 PA)

Not to instill panic, but Charlie Campbell is reporting the trade up target may be Proctor.

Pitching and pitcher management, although the pitching chaos thng might have been largely luck. It hasn't been easy to repeat. -

That is true. The difference between the best and worst line-up for the same group of hitters is not substantial. -

It needs to be replaced asap if not sooner.

This is the kind of thing a terrorist state does.

I think they are capable of parsing out a ruling that allows Texas and overturns Virginia through their shadow docket, and willing to do it, too, if they calculate the political consequences to their benefactor to be minimal enough.

So, the closest analog I could find throughout history was Dexter Fowler 2014 with a 29-20-30-20 split: Fowler is the only other qualified hitter in history with at least 20% of their starting lineup plate appearances in each of the top four batting slots. Going back into history, Freddie Lindstrom came really close in 1926 with a 19-24-32-25 split: As did Max Carey in 1917 with his 34-17-21-29: I'm actually surprised there were any this close back in the old days, since I would think that managers were more plug and play about slotting good hitters into particular batting slots. -
In two weeks. Pretty sure.

It comes down to whether or not the State Legislature followed the State Constitution in the writing and timing of the Constitutional Amendment that we voted on. Without getting deep in the weeds the question for the court to decide is whether the General Assembly legally put the issue on the ballot in the first place. According to yesterday's lower court ruling the amendment was passed during a special session to deal with the state budget. Expanding the session's scope required a 2/3 vote, not a simple majority. Under the State Constitution, the Governor sets the agenda for the session. The General Assembly cannot pass unrelated constitutional amendments unless it properly expanded the session. From ChatGPT... Deeper into the woods. Voters approved redistricting in 2020. Tuesday's vote overrode that vote temporally (until 2030). Then they get to do the process over. Here's where it seems weird to me. The State Supreme Court seemed skeptical of the special election when it was first presented to them but voted to allow the vote to proceed...why?
