I'm worried about the invasion that's already occurred by people who want to turn the country back 200 years to the "good old days" when blacks and women knew their place.7 points

The multi-cultural, multi-racial United States will survive and thrive from immigration waves. It will benefit our economy. I don't like the suicidal ideation of the US that Tucker and Laura seem to want to protect.3 points

What is the Vikings draft strategy, to make everyone in the NFC North better than them?2 points

Carrying 3 catchers, none of whom are much good, makes no sense at all. Your bench is 2 catchers and 2 Castros.2 points

Lincoln (a Rebuplican!) said it best: Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. Not a nation dedicated to an ethnic group, or a race, or a language, or even a particular geography, but to a proposition. No-one has a claim to say anyone who is also dedicated to that proposition has any less right to be 'American' than they do. As a matter of practicality, any nation has the right to ensure orderly immigration, but there is no place in the American 'experiment' for consideration of where people come from or what they look like, which is all the current right wing hysteria is about.2 points

Those dang Warner Bros groomers. Our parents let our brains rot every Saturday morning...(But I did gain an appreciation for classical music)2 points

I'm curious to see what happens to housing prices. I have a theory that so many people bought and/or refinanced at sub 3% that they won't want to sell with higher rates. That will limit inventory and keep prices elevated.2 points

Mayorkas was beaten down pretty good yesterday and he deserved every bit of it. He was asked if the 42 people caught entering the US illegally that are on the Terror Watch list had been released in the the US. His answer was that he didn't know. One Congressman called Mayorkas a traitor and compared him to Benedict Arnold. Mayorkas response is that he was offended and was proud of his service to the country. The damage he and his boss are doing to the US is irrepairable and he's offended. Too bad demented Joe wasn't there to feel the pain too since these are his policies. He probably was napping or couldn't find the room. https://www.cbsnews.com/video/homeland-security-secretary-alejandro-mayorkas-faces-heated-questions-from-republicans/2 points

Also just gotta say I'm liking the fact that they stopped showing the guys in the green room receiving the phone calls before the pick is announced spoiling any surprise. I think they did the same thing last year too so hopefully it continues to be like that.2 points

Most of the media is gushing a about the Lions draft (and the New York teams, rightfully so) so that means only one thing... that Hutchinson and Williams will bust.1 point

Not everyone who wants increased border control is a racist, but for those who are driving the hysteria it's definitely about race.1 point

you always like to do this, imagine that the lions will make fun of themselves on the big stage. it aint happening. the league and the lions are not about to trash themselves on national tv. it will be a "motown" and "assembly line" thing. they'll trot out barry and calvin. it will not be anything "celebrated" about their futility. i mean, theyre owned by the nfl's leading advertiser! we - the suffering masses - will be here to snark on them. the league will not. and hopefully we are talking about the lions being a team on the rise that only needs a couple more pieces to finally reach the promised land.1 point

I was thinking about this too. I know the Motor City and Motown are the themes they will lean on but I think it would be fun to have some self deprecating humor and showcase just how pathetic this franchise has been. They have can have blown up banners of the best SOL moments like Monte Clark praying the kick will go in against the 49'ers, Sterling Sharpe left wide open in the end zone, Germaine Crowell cutting to stay in bounds, Marty taking the wind, Schwartz throwing the challenge flag, Calvin and the process of the catch, the Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary, the 10 second runoff against Atlanta, the batted ball against Seattle, the Silverdome not imploding properly. I think a little self deprecating humor would be fun. They can call it Not the Same Old Draft.1 point

There's a big difference between immigrants and criminals that storm the open border and invade the US. They're called illegal aliens for a reason. They're not immigrants.1 point

By way of real world example, look at what Japan's super tough immigration policy did to their economy.1 point

The United States that won WWII was already a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic society embiggened by multiple waves of immigration and benefitting to the extent they were allowed from the contributions of African Americans and Japanese Americans. If had been nothing but the sons of WASPy frozen fishstick barons we might all be speaking Russian right now.1 point

So the Lions move up 20 spots in the 1st, move back in the 2nd 12 spots and only gave up a 3rd? I like it.1 point

I’m just so happy. So very happy. A player we watched steam roll Ohio state for the first time in a decade now moves 45 minutes East and to help the lions exercise their own demons. It’s meant to be.1 point

Our Top 5 picks since 2007 have been alright. Okudah is the only flop, but I am not giving up on him yet. He came to a team with a disaster of a Head Coach who had no defensive scheme, did not rush the QB and hung their DBs out to dry. He might still be salvageable. Other Top 7 picks since 2007, Stafford, Suh, Calvin, Ziggy, Hock and Penei..........that's not a bad list at all. It's the second round that kills the Lions1 point

I remember a guy who shoved the ball, he was in the Orioles bullpen in the late 60s and his name was Dick Hall, and of course we all referred to him as Dick All. He was a right-hander who pushed the ball out from his right shoulder. In our late teens in the late 60s, warming up before the game, half of the guys would be doing Luis Tiant and the other half would be doing Dick Hall.1 point
