  1. I think one of the things that really hurt thus team on Sunday and hasn't gotten enough talk is the WCF patch still on the side of the jersey. We all know William Clay Ford is the worst owner in the history of sports and it really feels like that patch is cursing them and holding them back from beyond the grave. Maybe get a patch that says SOL instead of WCF? Cousins throws an INT at the end and Seibert makes that kick if the WCF patch had been removed.

  2. Some notes from media day: Nerlens Noel is still dealing with plantar fasciitis (apparently it flared up in February of last season). He also said his goal is to be the DPoY - um, sure. Anyway, he'll be limited and is already starting off injured as we all expected. He did have some cool quotes about his love for Ben Wallace though. Alec Burks is recovering from a navicular fracture and is going to be re-evaluated in three weeks. That means he'll miss all of pre-season and will just be getting back to it around the start of the regular season. Could mean more minutes for Hami (or CoJo/McGruder), but may be good news for those of us who want to end the debate of whether Ivey is in the starting lineup or not. JEIII mentioned that there's talk about whether or not the Knicks were a bit shady in disclosing the full details of Burks health situation to the Pistons, but that he thinks the deal would have gone down anyway. Best quote came from Jaden Ivey, "I want to be a Piston for life. It runs deep." Reports are that Cade Cunningham has put on about 10lbs of muscle in the offseason. Casey said he, "looks like a different dude than last year." Saddiq Bey reportedly look more trim, although he told JEIII he hasn't lost any weight, he's just reduced his body fat percentage with his offseason regiment (he's been training in Colorado for the high altitude) Weaver talked more about the team being "at ground zero", after digging out of a hole for the first couple years. He finally feels like they have a "full complement of players." Previously they were figuring out who was going to stay or go, fixing the books, getting young talent, and finding good vets. Now he feels like things are stable, with a complete roster, and they can start going up from here. Casey said they're "Still in growth mode, but ready to compete at a higher level." He said that being young is no longer an excuse. Guys have to come to play. Nobody talked playoffs, but they also aren't trying to go out there and fight for last place this year. The Bojan move already told us that, but Casey reinforced the message. A lot of talk about how these guys all genuinely like each other and hang out together. Not just them, but their families as well. Feels like a real team and almost a college comradery type of vibe. Cool stuff. This came from most of the guys, but a lot of Bagley and Livers comments especially. From JEIII - Bojan will start day 1 and he's taking the over on Jaden Ivey starting as well. Killian got a lot of tough questions thrown at him and he had some interesting answers that acknowledged his need to be more aggressive on offense. He also talked about how he's been working hard on his jump shot and tweaked a few things as well. Stewart confirmed that he will be taking a lot more threes this year and said he's been studying a lot of Al Horford to see how he can be effective as a big man who can play the 4 or the 5, hit outside shots, and make the right reads.

  3. I'm ready. New "Quick Dry" t-shirt came in the mail yesterday. Closest thing I could find to Dri-Fit. Better for running than the heavy cotton of my 2008 Stanley Cup t-shirt.

  5. Oh, this marching band doesn’t do competitions. It’s just a very well run program that a lot of kids enjoy.

  8. I care, so would love them somewhere. I usually don't comment on them because I have little to add about prospects. I think a Prospects thread would make total sense.

  9. Random question, would we want a separate Prospect thread in addition to a regular season thread this season? Just keep posting prospect highlights in the same regular season thread? I don't want to annoy people with my prospect stuff but also don't want to clutter up the forum with multiple threads if no one cares.

  12. So many birth scenes. The Queen doesn't even flinch walking in on her son rubbing one out while standing in a wide open window. Larys burns his father and brother alive just to favor curry with the queen? He makes Littlefinger look like a rookie. I liked how they gave the dragon a little personality. Vhagar didn't want to burn Laena and really hesitated but in the end she did as she was told. Just a nice little touch that means nothing.

  13. Here is all you need to know about this team. Is Cade playing tonight? If yes, I am watching. No, what other games are on? 28 win +/- 2 either way.

  16. The emergence of Okudah is one of the best Lions stories in years. Finally, a 1st rounder that started slow who was able to break out. I can’t remember the last time it happened. He’s playing at a pro bowl level right and it’s great to see. It’s a big deal for the future of the team to have a legit #1 corner as one of the boxes already checked.

  17. As I have said, the performance of Jeff Okudah is absolute proof of how bad a coach Matt Patricia was and how he and his buddy set this franchise back 5 or 6 years. Patricia is a bad human too. We did dodge a bullet with Kenny G it seems.

  22. So I see that as a top need. I agree with the sentiment that Amani is an OK CB if the other CB's are weaker and they, not he, is getting picked on. But with Okudah emerging this year, I think we are going to see all year long what Amani's weaknesses are as opposing teams load up on passes his way... And Will Harris is also not the answer. It doesn't have to be a top 10 1st round pick either...

  28. Seems to me you have a pretty solid understanding of the players. I don't think they want to give up on Baddoo and Cisneros just yet but it's hard to know what Harris will do.
