No question Fox will try to offer Dominion enough $$ to make the company's head spin - enough to make it very hard to for them to demand a trial for some unspecified corrective performance. I want this case to go to trial because I think the Sullivan doctrine is eating American Democracy at its core by removing any and all recourse to the distribution of outright lies and while the odds are slim, this case at least has a chance to lead to some trimming of the expansive protection Sullivan gives outright liars.4 points

“ThIs sport is soft. They wouldn’t cancel a football game!” Well, if I were a hitter, I’d like the pitcher to have a firm grip on the sphere traveling at 90+ MPH and zipping around my head. Oh, and I couldn’t help but notice that “the real sport” in town plays in a comfy dome.2 points

Someone on WDIV's facebook post about this called the players "Pre Madonnas" I'm going to use that.2 points

It's typical prospect fatigue with Anderson. For 3 years he was viewed as this generational pass rusher with people saying he wouldve been the first one off the board each of the previous 2 seasons, now suddenly those folks start back tracking on their opinion of him despite him doing nothing to warrant it.2 points

Don't want this to turn into a political debate about our Healthcare system, just wanted to post this cause I thought it was an awesome gesture by the Dodgers and I hope Toles gets the help he needs. I remember back when there were talks of us trading Kinsler to the Dodgers his name was one of the prospects that was speculated.2 points

Good for those kids. Playing for the love of the game. Not sitting around sipping hot cocoa by the fire like a bunch of pre madonnas.1 point

Only because you’re used to it over 20 years now. Lots of consternation and out cry when it opened. Many referred to it as the CoPa, as both shorthand, but also to avoid saying Comerica.1 point

Same thing with Great American Ballpark. Doesn't feel like it's a corporate sponsored name, but it is.1 point

I agee that Comerica is less annoying than other corporate names. It sounds like a baseball park.1 point

Without even opening the article, or looking elsewhere for more context, my guess is Poland, Hungary, and Bulgaria all agreed to buy grain that maybe they otherwise wouldn't need as a form of assistance. Maybe they see Ukraine is successfully sending grain to countries now and this is no longer needed. What the heck, let's see what I can find out. 15 seconds later..... https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-65292698 So in short, Poland is protecting it's farmers while still wanting to work towards a resolution that will aid a country it supports.1 point

I learned shortly after moving here we're in a weird weather hole. it can be storming within 5 miles in all directions but we won't see a drop. I think for us the proximity of a couple of rivers near us may be part of what's happening. Then it could be the paper plant in the nearby burg.1 point

Of course not. Facebook posts under media pages are a hoot.... that's where the dirty people are. Lots of "I seen that" and "they should of"... you might see references to "an oriental". On one of our dearborn history groups someone posted a picture of an old shopping center, a guy from Florida (of course) who used to live here says "It's all ARAB now". Just like that... in caps. ANd his profile picture was a fishing boat.1 point

If it were only their dollars at stake, I wouldn't care, but there's so much more at stake than that, so I do care. I don't think a media company should be allowed to use brazen lies to rile up murderous rage in people as a business model, and I would like this court case to be the linchpin to stopping that if at all possible.1 point

Does that poll say "Of those who watch Fox - 59% do NOT trust it as a news source" or am I misinterpreting the poll?1 point

From what I read recently I would guess it's nearly impossible to find a pilot on short notice. Between the fact there there is shortage across the industry and that you need guys certified on your particular airplane that just happen to already be in the city you are in and aren't already doing something else. Maybe easier on the East coast where there are a dozen airports within an hour of each other.1 point

Yeah - I saw it somewhere - maybe in Henning's MiLB round-up - He's fine, but the Tiger MiLB rule is go near 40 pitches in a inning and you are done and Madden went 36 in the first - and was only throwing 50% strikes.1 point

It's not just a business thing, however. Employees' lives have been threatened, some have been stalked, and as we have seen with Paul Pelosi, that's not to be taken as a joke or just an angry statement anymore.1 point

I haven’t made a Charlie Campbell post in at least a week or so, soooo… The reason I like his mocks and analysis is because while it flies under many radars, but is notoriously accurate at the end of the day. Last draft, his last mock went something like 9/9 to start, which is pretty rare, as much as these are made. He put out his updated mock today. It goes Young/Stroud/Wilson/Richardson/Carter to start, with the Lions landing Anderson. In his full six-round mock, the Lions end up with Will Anderson (EDGE, Alabama), Bijan Robinson (RB, Texas), Sam LaPorta (TE, Iowa), Jack Campbell (LB, Iowa), Cam Mitchell (DB, Northwestern), Riley Moss (CB, Iowa), Dorian Thompson-Robinson (QB, UCLA), Chandler Zavala (OG, NC State), and Jordan McFadden (OG, Clemson). For me, the only way that could get any better would be if we landed Washington instead of LaPorta, but otherwise that’d be a damn near perfect outcome.1 point

It's flat out not letting me reply with some of my Carnac jokes. This is fall 2021 in Jacksonville, if you want to know why there are Urban Meyer jokes. Also people knew who Drew Smyly was form the World Series that was going on that night. 60 Minutes: How much time has Urban Meyer spent game planning this year? Donald Trump: How does Donald win at euchre? Kanye West: What is the opposite of Kanye East? Drew Smyly: How does Drew act when he's happy? Uber Driver: What will Urban Meyer be doing next year? Dune, No Time to Die, and Taps: Name two hit movies and the Jaguars Fight Song. I still have my Carnac hat... May use this one for a different group again.1 point
