Lipcius has over 1200 plate appearances in AA and AAA along with being a 3 year college player in the SEC which is about as close to pro ball as you can get, he has had plenty of time to develop. There's always outliers but in all likelihood if he can't perform at the Major League level now he isn't going to in a year or 2.3 points

The kids are alright—dingers tonight from Pacheco, Jung, Meadows and the already mentioned, Keith.3 points

Torkelson getting close to 200 PA at an 800 OPS. Other than a blip 0 for Philly, he's been pretty solid since May1. But since admittedly his April was terrible, it's taking time for the season numbers to look decent.3 points

I don't want anything to do with Zion WIlliamson. He can be some other team's problem.2 points

This. And just to put the cap on this discussion - I would assume that everyone read Chafin's response to Petzold during the Atlanta series but if not, he said that he would have been glad to come back to Det if their offer had been as good.2 points

I have no idea if being on Hard Knocks is or isn't a distraction for the team but if the coaches don't think it's a problem, I'd love to see it. Lions should negotiate. Rescind Jamo's suspension and we'll do it.2 points

There would be a whole crew wearing those jerseys... they'd be known as... The D*ck Squad.1 point

It's not spoken of as often... But I spent 1.5 years next to the DMZ in Korea keeping the Kims from terrorizing the South, or Japan for that matter... Defensive. Not offensive.1 point

See what you can get for Haase...is Steve Colyer still available? Promote Sands to Detroit to catch twice a week, Dingler to Toledo to catch every day. I'm opposed to racing a guy through the minor leagues. But with Dingler, time's up.1 point

Sign Max Don’t extend Miggy Replace DD with a new age POBO like Harris Keep Verlander That’s all. Results would be very different.1 point

The age of some of these younger players is misleading. They lost a full year of development because of covid. Bringing them up before they're ready is like.....eating undercooked chicken. It may taste good at first but you soon regret it...lol1 point

stern would have axed him for the whole season. one did not **** with david stern's money.1 point

and then we take gradey! because any plan that has us drafting him and having del wear a jersey with the word d*ck on it is worth the price.1 point

Not a map but since it's geography related I'll post it here, I just found out yesterday that the eastern most point of Brazil is closer to Africa than it is the western most point of the country. I'm a geography nerd and that tidbit caught me by surprise.1 point

I don't want draft picks, I want proven players ready to help the team win now! Wings need to be back in the playoffs next season, this drought has gone on way too long.1 point

Yeah this season is done, I mean I'm still gonna keep rooting for wins but ultimately what matters to me most at this point is the development of the players that are going to be here in the coming years most notably of course Tork.1 point

JEIII said it's between the twins, Walker, Whitmore, and Hendricks for Detroit.1 point

I like to point out that during the Tigers playoff runs in 2006 and 2011-2014... they only had home field advantage once, and that was because the AL won the ASG in 2006. In 2012 when they went to the WS they were neck and neck with the White Sox to win the division, trailing with about a week to go. Tigers finished 8-2, Sox had a 2-10 stretch near the end to swap around. the reason I say that is to point out that those teams were not as good as many Tiger fans often claim. Making the playoffs 4 years in a row is an accomplishment but you don't get carryover benefits. The 2014 pitching staff was deep, SP wise, but outside of Scherzer, the rest of the guys didn't have what I'd call great years. It wasn't like there was a question on who was the best that year, JV was hurt. It was all Max.1 point

I'm seeing a lot of the last case of conditioning entire classes of people of modest means playing out. They all have big trucks and Virginia's Gadsen flag "don't tread on me" license plates.1 point

Take out one inning, and its a good start by Boyd. It'd have been great to use him for another inning (only 84 pitches) given the current pitching staff situation, but how do you trust him for another inning? Sending him out for the 6th was probably more necessity than it was decision.1 point

No you are fine, it was not directed at you. There are a few long time members that think they can say stuff like that. Kind of like the new kid at school walking around with his lunch tray and "those guys" are pointing and laughing at him. Slide their trays over to make sure there is no room at their table for him to sit.1 point

also, I spent 2 years NOT on offense in Germany defending the democracies during the 80s. Say it wasn't worth it all you like. Its not like Vladdie wouldn't have taken whatever inch was given him if we were not there in collective security.1 point

A bit more detail https://eaworldview.com/2023/06/ukraine-war-african-leaders-kyiv-russia-attacks/ South Africa - being a member of the Commonwealth has a foot in a couple worlds. They warned Putin not to go to South Africa because of the ICC indictment. They are cold to the West's various obsessions with terrorism as the ANC were called terrorists back in their own revolutionary phase. None of these countries appears to have heavy Wagner presence unless I'm missing something.1 point

If you're like me you will find this to be great news, Woj just said that this year he won't be tweeting out the picks before they are announced so people can instead find out when they are actually announced on the podium.1 point

I once had a chiropractor marvel at the degree to which I am "busted up"...and that was before I snapped my humerus (not as funny as it sounds) and gained a plate and six screws in my left arm1 point

I guess we're all just old or the tigers injury curse has now reached its fan base cause I think I have some sorta rotator cuff injury. Been going on for a few years now but I can't make any overhand throw without major pain/range of motion issues but have no problem throwing a 16lb bowling ball dozens of times a week. Since I dont play baseball or softball anymore and it doesn't effect my real life at all I haven't bothered to go get it checked out.1 point

I haven't played softball since before the pandemic but I would be shocked if I didn't have serious throwing elbow damage, that if I were a pitcher I would need Tommy John. The only sport I play now with overhead motion is volleyball. Attacking isn't so bad because so much of that motion is derived from the core. Serving can be tough when the elbow is tender since the arm sometimes needs to adjust to the toss and there are some odd motions, especially when trying to get a nasty float serve going. Softball games where I got more than 5 or so throws to make from left field left me in a world of hurt, but I had to play out there because I suck at infield and have some decent range to track balls down.1 point

This made me happy to read. Kevin Tighe and Randolph Mantooth (DeSoto & Gage) from Emergency! have remained very close friends ever since. They live right by each other and see each other all the time and give each other a friendly hard time like the characters did. When you hear about co-stars hating each other (Bruce Willis & Cybill Shepherd, Bea Arthur & Betty White, Shelly Long & The rest of the cast of Cheers), it's refreshing to see this. Tighe was Best Man at Mantooth's wedding 20 years ago and went over and hung out with him while he recovered from cancer. It's funny. I think of 7 year old me watchin Emergency! on my little black & white TV in my room (My mom telling me to turn it down because of the omnipresent sirens) and I never would have thought that Hey, 50 years from now I will be watching this in the morning every day. It's also amazing how much of it I remembered.1 point

At least this team will finally reach it's full ass-water level after the crappy Twins sweep and put us out of our misery.0 points
