Do you think the rest of us enjoy the poor state of the team? Venting is fine. The same rants over and over don’t do much for me.5 points

Kiley McDaniel moved Langford to 1 on his big board followed closely by Crews and Skenes. He says as of now they will rank 9th,10th and 13th respectively on his overall prospect rankings which is extremely high for a player right out of the draft. Usually the top guy is usually around 25th-35th so ranking that high right off the bat shows how special these 3 are.4 points

It's ridiculous that Carpenter has 12 at bats against left handed pitchers this season. He's clearly one of our tougher outs. At least give him a chance to develop against left handed pitchers.4 points

they're overachieving in my book. they dont have much talent on the team to begin with, their best player is hurt, and all their pitchers have been hurt. the fact that theyre not the a's or royals is overachieving to me.3 points

Colts Minor stats: OPS of .907 in 792 Plate Appearance Torks: OPS of .889 in 685 Plate appearances. So pretty comparable and tork's sample is smaller than 'keith's current small sampe size"2 points

This. We’ve been deluded into thinking this team is a contender based on the ****ty division we’re in. We’re not. It’s not in our best interest to force matters by bringing players up prematurely. For me, it’s just getting more AB’s and innings for players who could be part of our long term future (Tork, Carpenter, Greene, Rogers, Vierling, Manning, Skubal, Olsen, Lange, Foley and Vest).2 points

Yeah, which apparently means they cant bring up a new young bat because "bUT looKaT tORk StRuggLing!!!"...these players are very fragile Faberge eggs apparently. The offense is so bad as is, there's literally nothing to lose by bringing up a young bat and trying to inject some juice into this loaded diaper.1 point

genuinely curious why Kerry Carpenter isn’t in the lineup against a righty.1 point

We already have a Lindstrom on the team too. Last time we had both a Lindstrom and an Eiserman on the roster I'd reckon to say we were pretty good.1 point

Broken kneecap! This is his first "game" action since I believe. Before camp I think he's just been healing, last I saw of him were pictures of him graduating high school with a few Jagermesiter bottles tied around his neck 😂. He graduated in Sweden and I guess they have a huge party for grads. It is great that he's healed up and ready for camp already.1 point

Wait until we find out the wife or girlfriend of DeBrincat is best friends with that of Tarasenko and they both want to bring their foursome to the Vegas Knights.1 point

I haven't been able to watch, random links I've found: I read that Brendan Ali looked really good at camp which is an exciting development, apparently Dylan James looked good too.1 point

Should someone go to prison for being a coward or freezing during in a moment of terrorism? I don't believe so. He should probably lose his job though.1 point

They are winning at the same pace I predicted at the beginning of the season and have done it with a lot of injuries. So, I'd say they are overachieving (mostly due to the bullpen).1 point

Do you mean that the NFL would reward the person providing that information? I doubt that would be the case. I think it's built into the contracts that they need to report this to the NFL. Again, this is all based on my memory of what I've read, so don't treat it as gospel.1 point

i cant imagine being this angry about a rebuilding tigers team. dude, this team is overachieving right now.1 point

A) the service time issue is long solved. B) you actually can gain a draft pick now by leaving him in the minor leagues currently and not calling him up for a full season until next year1 point

Phillips was a natural for this thread. A leadoff hitter as a Tiger and spent time with Oakland, so let him lead off this series. Could be explosive (happy 4th of July). Did any Tiger fan not appreciate Phillips' time as a Tiger? I mean, sure, he had a clunker of a game now and again like all ball players do. But, he was so fun to watch, you knew he'd be in the lineup, but you just didn't know where until you saw the lineup card. He had some shortcomings as far as talent was concerned, but damn it if he didn't make up for it with wit and guile.1 point

Frustrating loss, and as much as I'd be happy to see Schoop and Ibanez replaced, I don't know that anyone was getting to Sears today. Sometimes bad teams get great performances. I remember watching Spencer Turnbull no-hit a 90-win Mariners team two years ago. Sh*t happens.1 point

Wait, winning today, at home, agains the worst team in baseball wasnt a priority? Damn, I knew the bar was low...but there's not even a bar with that take🤷♂️1 point

You could try Malloy for some OBP and power but I don't want to see him in the short end of a platoon.1 point

I think Keith may force them to call him up. If he tears up AAA...bring him up, see what you got.1 point
-
Why not though? Are these guys really that fragile? Not even worth bringing up Keith and seeing if he can help this team, and hell, maybe even win the div? I get the longview, but come on...if this team were 10+ back, then sure, but they are in the mix for a playoff push. Can they win the World Series? 99% no...but just get in the dance, and I expect a GM to use every option he has to get there if it's feasible. Maybe I'm just shortsighted...but I thought the goal every season is to win the Div, then get in the dance, and see what happens.1 point

Hinch loves the platoon pinch hitting roster. If your right handed hitters can't get the starter out of the game, it's useless.1 point

Munising also has a cool glass-bottom boat shipwreck tour. Definitely check out Whitefish Point & Tahquamenon, if you haven't seen it before. Depending on which way you decide to go home, you can take 94 S and check out Kitch-iti-kipi, which is a cool spring-fed lake. Then head back to the bridge on US-2. & if you happen to drive by Gaylord on I-75 on the way home, honk!1 point

I love that boat tour of pictured rocks Red, I've done it twice in the past 5 years. It's worth the money. My experience with both rides is that they do a loop, and the way out is slower/longer than the way back. This matters in terms of which side of the boat to get a seat on. And there will be a line to get good seats. And it will be cold on the boat if you sit outside which obvs you want to do.... right? Also be aware the boats can and do cancel a lot because of lake conditions. We had one of our rides cancelled because of 6-7 ft waves. Munising is unexpectedly cold as bleep. I took a long phone call on the lakeshore where the tour boats are last July and I had on a Sweatshirt and winter coat.... in july. The UP is amazing but really spread out and sadly a lot of the other sweet stuff is a ways away from Munising. There are a number of waterfalls around Munising and going to the lookout points above Pictured Rocks is pretty awesome too. Lots hiking available. Could probably spend .5 days or so in downtown Munising, there are some neat shops there esp for outdoorsy Patagonia types. Disregarding distance, things to check out in UP if you can: Soo Locks is nerd neat but kids will be bored. Can be uneventful if no boats but also very very slow when there is a boat lol. Bear farm place near Tfalls is really expensive and imo not worth it. Also probably not the most humane thing for the bears. Kipikichee (may have spelled that poorly) is pretty neat but maybe a bit overrated. Upper Taq Falls is beautiful, lower Taq Falls is super fun because you can get in the water. Bond Falls is really cool too but quite far away from Munising. Porcupine Mtns was super nice I thought. There's a brand of Wisconsin ice cream that alot of stores carry up there that is super delicious and you need to get some of that, I apologize I forget the name but you'll see it at all the places that sell ice cream cones.1 point
