  1. Also saw this on twitter. Sounds like a good dude.

  2. I just love that Bears fans came in fully expecting to lose, lost, but managed to lose in such a fashion as to completely devastate the fanbase anyway. It’s got a Lionesque artistic quality to it.

  3. I too enjoy reading the thread later however I know that I'd be the same way in the thread if I posted during a game. I know my emotions are all over the place during a game. After I can being more cool and rational about it, but during the game I get a little crazy and I fully embrace that. To borrow from Vegas: What happens in the game day thread stays in the game day thread. It's okay to be a little crazy while watching.

  4. No, I'm saying two compensatory picks for Glenn leaving then hiring Vrabel to replace Glenn if he's a free agent would be a dream.

  5. I didn't have a problem with Trump talking to Kim. I was less enthusiastic about him kissing his ass.

  6. This is just a short clip. I'm sure more will be posted later on, probably after they're done bleeping out all the F bombs.

  8. I think the goal haas always been to win the North this year.... Super Bowl though? Maybe not.

  9. And he can use the draft capital to move up in the draft and get some young pass rush help. Someone good and on a rookie contract. To be honest, I think the Lions success this season took everyone by surprise. He was building for 2024 and up. It's a good surprise but I really don't think even Brad saw this coming...

  10. Yes Fields ran for 104 yards. He also only threw for 169 yards and didn't even complete a pass the entire 4th quarter. He had 273 yards from scrimmage. If a QB threw for 273 yards, there wouldn't be this much consternation. His yards per carry average against the Lions was inline with his season average. It's not like he was doing much better, he just had way more rushing attempts than he had in any other game previously and it seemed be design. The offense did the defense no favors by turning it over 4 times and in quick succession on some of them.

  11. Definitely. In the near term, they're going to have to break the bank for Amon Ra and Sewell. Those are two franchise pieces they absolutely can't lose. And maybe Goff too. I thought trading Hock was a shrewd move. They replaced him with someone better and saved over 68 million. Holmes is playing the long game

  12. I agree that it does hurt that they haven't been able to consistently get pressure, but in a year or two they're gonna have to pay Sewell, Amon Ra, Hutch, Gibbs, LaPorta, et al - I think perhaps it's just Brad looking at the future & saying he'd rather spend on the guys here now than a oft-injured, albeit terrific DL. I would imagine he just didn't think it worth the long term commitment.

  13. Agreed and i've been up front about this before, cheating on taxes and lying about where they live for political gain is where I hope we can go back to with our political candidates. You know, the good 'ole days.

  15. What would be funny is if Boyle lights it up and has the Jets in position to make the playoffs and then Rodgers comes back for the final 2 games and screws everything up.

  17. Cade Cunningham On Pistons: “We’re Bad,” Compete Level “Unacceptable” I'll be honest, to me it seemed more like they were completely overmatched during the game than dogging it. And you get to a point in the game where overcoming a 20 plus point deficit on the front end of a back-to-back just ain't happening and you play for tomorrow rather than today. But if Cunningham wants to call them out, hey, have at it.

  18. I felt that way about them in 1981. I "hated" a lot of bands at that time for their overexposure on a rapidly-calcifying Detroit rock radio scene. It's not for nothing that WLLZ seemed to be an acronym for "We Love Led Zeppelin". Funnily enough, I softened up toward AC/DC in the 2010s thanks to, of all entities, the Chicago White Sox. For years the team would enter the field for a game to the strains of "Thunderstruck", which seemed like a really perfect super-energetic entrance theme. I really dug that, and that led me to start going through more of AC/DC's catalog, re-listening to the songs I "hated" for their overexposure way back then, and started enjoying even songs like "Back in Black" more. Funny how great gobs of time can change your mind about things you felt so immutably sure of (which Jeff Tweedy can certainly attest to).

  20. That is very familiar to Lions fans who have been watching them for the last 50+ years.

  21. I also didn't think there was anything wrong with it in theory. It's just that everything Trump does is on the fly and I don't trust any Trump agreement to be anything more than something that benefits himself personally in terms of money or popularity. I also assume that anything good that comes out of anything involving him was because of something that someone else did. I think the main result of the meeting was Kim coming out of it feeling more relevant on the world stage which is not a good thing. But maybe pfife can tell us what they got out of the summit!

  24. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/nfl/lions/2023/11/19/jameson-williams-td-kickstarts-lions-in-comeback-win-over-bears/ More on Jaymo. I always thought the character concerns on him were overblown but I hope they are put to rest now. Tidbit from the story: that’s the first time he’s ever been on the field for a two minute drill in a real game setting. He’s been on such good teams, and so talented, that he’s just been able to coast. Some guys like him would never get it together. But he’s doing it.

  34. I really feel bad for Austin Meadows. His career is probably over because of vertigo (just like Nick Esasky) and he's only 28 and I am sure he would have loved to start a game with his brother. I hope he can make a comeback, I'm rooting for him.

  36. in fairness to the pistons, they are missing two starters in morris and bogey. one who would theoretically take some of the playmaking load off cade and the other who would provide floor spacing. cant really judge how the team looks until/if those guys come back. that said, with the weakest draft in memory on tap its almost a guarantee the pistons win the lottery. compare them with houston. they have accumulated #1 picks and took green, seguin, thompson, and jabari smith. we accumulated first rounders and took cade, ivey, killian, bey, stewart, and thompson. green and cade are different players with different roles so its hard to compare. seguin is a better player than stewart, imo. our thompson has looked better than there's. smith has been very up and down as has ivey. and we traded bey for the ultimate waste of space. houston spent money on vanvleet and brooks. we traded our cap space/assets to get bogey, bagley, wiseman, morris, deandre jordan, burkes, and joe harris. there's your difference, right? they took their cap space to get a solid point guard starter and an agitating role player and we traded ours for second round picks, big men washouts, and two injured players. not sure which is the best LONG term plan, but in the short term we really look bad compared to them.

  37. Couple points: Israel is opening safe-corridors out of Al-Shifa. There was at one point a week or two ago over 10,000 in Al-Shifa. There is now less than 2,500. Stating Israel is not allowing anyone to leave Al-Shifa is BS. Sorry. Hamas shoots at people leaving Al-Shifa and other hospitals to try to keep the Gazans trapped as hostages/ human shields at those hospitals. And shoots at people in the safe corridors trying to escape. It is Hamas that is holding both Israeli's and Gazans hostage. FYI. Hamas has hidden 200,000 gallons of fuel and refuses to give any to hospitals or any other Gazan, they've hidden stores of food and water. But you know... for Hamas' purposes: **** their fellow Palestinians. They could care less if Palestinian babies die in hospitals without fuel. As long as Israel gets the blame for Hamas' war crimes.. they're fine with dead Palestinians. The higher the Palestinian death count the better for Hamas. Bombing south Gaza? Do you mean, Hamas is attacking Israeli forces with missiles from south Gaza and Israel is returning fire? Because that would be the truth, versus Hamas propaganda. I'm not interested in Hamas' lies or propaganda. Just to set the record straight.

  38. I wouldn't argue he benefits from the DC regime being more player supportive, but don't undersell the OL. If you look at the time this OL gives him, any QB would be in hog heaven in Det right now.
