  3. Just saw a thing that pointed out that Cameron Maybin hit HR's in 3 different decades for the Tigers, 2000's, 2010's, and 2020's, despite only playing in around 130 games for the team.

  4. Thinking on twitter is by resigning now Buck is trolling Boebert. She can’t run in the special election to fill the seat since she’s already in congress for another district. She could be looking at facing an incumbent.

  5. It's not bickering about the bickering it's squabbling about the quarreling.

  7. Sigourney Weaver and Mel Gibson in "The Year of Living Dangerously" are two actors with Verlander/Scherzer grade fastballs.

  8. You probably already know that Sigourney Weaver was seen in the crowd shots of a Beatles concert film in 1965. Even at age 14, she was a woman among girls.

  9. We are seeing that the pitching could be very good and they can catch the ball well enough but with all the young hitters the run scoring could be anything from terrible to average. If they get average, they can be a good team, but so far this spring it's hard to have a lot of confidence that are going to get close to average. Several regulars that haven't shown much so far have 2 more weeks to get their act together.

  10. No way it take until 2026 to reach the bigs for that stuff unless your assuming it take a year or so at that level to be a #2. Personally I think arms only last so long so why wait. He has 3 pitches now. Maybe wait until June to keep a year of control. Not to be irrational, which I am about to be 😃 , Sign JD and bring up Jobe. The Central is really weak. And with Skubal and Jobe in short series....is it 2006 or 2024 ?

  11. If Ben Johnson didn't run the ball on 2nd down so much, this never would have happened.

  12. I saw five new pages of posts since I checked this morning and assumed we must have acquired Mack. Imagine my surprise.

  13. Yes please! I keep coming here to check for some kind of move and have to wade through pages of meaningless bickering….

  15. Every player knows that the non guaranteed year(s) are to the teams benefit and not the players, and they will only get them if they earn them

  16. I'd just be happy to see Dylan Cease out of the division lol

  17. If the Lions had simply cut those players, like most teams do, you wouldn't have given two thoughts about it. But because they worked out a mutually beneficial arrangement, you somehow find it offensive.

  18. I believe it's just someone rushing to write a story and nobody gave it a second thought. Like I said, there's no editors anymore to catch that. Just churn them out. Probably written by a 19 year old free lancer for $25.

  22. Burger King's too. McDonald's went to great care to find good spots, Burger King said, "Wait for them then build across the street".

  23. Well, if the role players keep playing like Okwara, Harris, and Cominsky a pay cut vs being cut may be preferred.

  24. I think at this point the organization is going to let Javy keep looping his own rope for the next couple of weeks so he can basically make the decision for them.

  25. at the very least there should be a some sort of public acknowledgement of inappropriate behavior by a member of the leadership group and an apology should be issued. i would fine or suspend him but that's not how the league operates. you can get away with stuff like this that wouldnt happen in a normal business. i would use this as another in a long line of reasons to dismiss him, the main one being the product on the floor four years into a "rebuild."

  26. Mack could be available today. I would also sign Allen as a Reynolds replacement.

  27. Is the pitching machine per Javi Baez request? Or does he need another day away to gather himself?

  28. I think you need to add context on this before going to your conclusion. If was Goff, or Glasgow or others you might be right, however, it's players who are role players who can tell the team no as easily as they can say yes. They have also give Glasgow more money, Alex more money, JRM more money.

  32. It’s not Alex Lyon’s fault. It’s Priority Trash’s fault. For the love of god, just give them their money back and take the trash patch off the sweater. This is the hockey gods punishment for Chris defacing one of the most iconic jerseys in sports.

  34. I fully expected it. Holmes is not going to sign top of the market free agents to multi-year deals, get used to it. It's worked so far.

  35. Anybody could have picked him, but a lot of fans didn't like the pick. If he succeeds, whoever was responsible for the pick deserves a lot of credit.

  36. Lions could end up with a comp pick because of this signing.

  37. This one stings, not going to lie. I knew deep down in my Honolulu blue heart we wouldn't land an A-tier, marquee free agent. But man, I really wanted us to be in on Hunter and I had some small but fading sense of hope that we would land a dynamic pass rusher like Hunter. Lining up a guy with 16 sacks across Aiden sure would have been nice. Just continue to trust the Brad Holmes plan!

  38. I'm not opposed to March Madness pools, I'm not opposed to weekly poker games with friends, and I'm not opposed to gross, seedy, ugly gambling oases like Nevada—not even the cowboy casinos in Laughlin. What I am opposed to is a freewheeling barely-regulated gambling syndicate which is set free to seek out ordinary people minding their own business and lures them into gambling with things like implied promises of big wins and hit-of-the-dope first bets, promotions designed by AI data-crunching to get them to put as much of their money into gambling as possible, preferably all of it, I would assume. Now, I'm not naive—GAMBLOR has been let out of its cave, and there's not much chance of ever locking him back up. But If it were up to me, if gambling had to remain legal and freely available as it is today, I would outlaw any and all marketing activities related to gambling, with the possible exception of advertising destination trips to Vegas and the like, ads in which the gambling is only implied. I think if people want to gamble, they should have to seek it out on their own accord, not be subjected to being lured in. But that won't happen, because there's way too much money that the crooked politicians at the local, state, and federal levels can get from the organized crime-adjacent gambling empires for them to be concerned about something as boring and stupid as public mental health policy. Who needs a concerned government to get involved? Just say no! That's my piece and I am willing to just leave it here and say no more, unless, of course, people want to keep talking about it, in which case I'll be happy to oblige.

  41. Smart move to take the pay cut. The other option was to get released and face an uncertain market after a disappointing 2023 season.

  42. Harris, Okawara and Vaitai did it last year. Honestly, the Lions should stop doing this or else they are going to get a reputation.

  44. Not sure where those numbers are coming from since everything I see says Davis passer rating against was 96.1 which was the first time he went above 90 since his rookie season. Davis is also better in man coverage. Tampa rarely runs man and the Lions run it a lot.

  45. There aren’t a lot of positions where the premier talent is going to be available at #29, but guard is one. That said, I would be surprised if the Lions go into the draft without picking up a capable LG. They went into 2023 with six starting offensive linemen, which is what allowed them to transition seamlessly to Glasgow after Vaitai went down. Pigeon holing yourself to take a guard in the draft because it’s a glaring hole just doesn’t seem like Holmes’ MO at all.
