I’ve been hanging out in different iterations of this place for 20 years. Thank you everyone — especially Scoot — for making it possible and delightful.6 points

I hate the day off after opening day. I get the idea behind it but having waited 6 months for real baseball and then have a day off right after is cruel.2 points

That Toledo lineup looks better than some Tigers teams of recent memory.2 points

They think it’s the Heisman where they anoint someone early in and it’s up to them to either lose it or someone overtake them.2 points

I know who does have insurance: The DoD. This is now the highest priority of the Army Corp of Engineers. The port has a very high national security priority. I hope we see the first movement of ships out within a week.2 points

Manning looks pretty good so far. Gave up a 440 foot poke to dead center, but he’s struck out 6 through 3. Perez with a double and triple in his first two plate appearances. Dingler tossed out a base thief in training. Darn good weather for a home opener.1 point

It would make sense, but he's got to stay healthy. He came in from VaTech with injury history, and fresh off an ACL tear, so he wasn't expected to be an immediate contributor in 2022, but he then had a hamstring injury in 2023 and finished the season on IR after getting hand surgery. He's played in 29 games over the two seasons, so clearly they don't hate him. But he's also only got 13 receptions and 1 TD in those 29 games, so they also don't see him as a weapon in the pass game. Compared to 31 receptions and 5 TDs in 31 games for Wright. I will say when Brock Wright went down with the injury to end the season, Mitchell's snap counts increased from an average of 5.7 per game (that he was active) across the first 14 games, to 24/game in weeks 16 and 17 without Wright, to 46 in week 18 when we were without Wright or LaPorta for most of the game. So they didn't mind putting him in there as the backup to Wright (or LaPorta), it's not like he was getting past up by Firkser.1 point

It's not just local speculation, national news and odds makers think Skubal has a chance for the Cy Young this year.1 point

Nobody seems to be asking why they traded for an injured Grimes.1 point

Forget Clinton's terrible record on policy, in the wake of Me Too I have a real hard time trotting Bill Clinton out there still in the public spotlight and embracing him. We believe Dr. Blasey Ford and E. Jean Carrol but we dismiss Paula Jones, Juanita Broadrick, and Kathleen Willey?1 point

the goal is not to talk to MAGA; there are a huge number of reachable republicans*; it is about getting just a million, or even half a million people over 8 states to not vote of Trump; that would be impactful *my next door neighbors are hard core GOP people who hate Trump, but think they have to vote for him because Biden is close to goal destroying the country. Bush would give them permission to not vote for Trump (they would never vote Biden)1 point

odd. if they has called Keith up for a day in September, adding him to 40 and 26 man rosters, he would be eligible to create PPI pick. I am more annoyed that Meadows, who has an puncher's shot at ROY, would not create PPI pick because he was not on some media persons list.1 point

If someone posts a video on twitter and their algorithm blasts its to millions of people why are we talking about cable news bias when like 4 people watch that boomer ****1 point

I stayed conservative as you all know but on the far libertarian side I immediately recognized the crackpot side. You’d read a newsletter and it all sounds fine but then look in the ads and the end and you see some white national stuff. It was there around the edges. Jon Coon was the libertarian candidate for senate, I think 1994. I looked into him and it seemed ok. But again you see people around an event with questionable attire or flags. think of it like going to a church and you sense some cult like behavior.1 point

Republic party when Twitter wasn't owned by Musk: BIAS! ELECTION INTERFERENCE! Republic party when Twitter is owned by Musk, who is explicitly anti-biden, endorses candidates, and RT'ing known white supremacists, etc: CRICKETS Goes to show the old adage, it's not tyranny when the republic party does it1 point

Foley at 101 MPH? Did he have that last year? That's absolutely closer stuff. (That's 162 KPH for you Canadians) 😁1 point

Not to be that guy but this offense is only on pace to score 162 runs this season. Not to be that guy but this pitching staff is currently on pace to give up 0 runs this season.1 point

I bet a good portion of the Jan 6 folks were those you described. Preppers. They spend a lot of time at ArmY Surprlus stores. They have swords they got at Trade Centers. They take boner pills they buy at gas stations.1 point

Watching a news story on upgrades to Comerica Park. The new board.... the resolution portion is key. But other than that I don't really care. Just a way for them to increase their advertising options. New TV's throughout. I like that one. A lot of them were old tube TV's that didn't function anymore. Sound system. Long overdue. Sometimes I couldn't even hear the PA announcer. I would hear words but the speakers near us were broken. New sensory room. This is a big deal for a small number of people and kudos for the Tigers for joining in other venues in doing this. I have a son that could utilize it. Today's scene at games and ballparks can be overloading for people with sensory issues. It's a real thing. I'd like to see them paint some of the walls away from that light blue/green color. It looks like some government operation with steal desks and uncomfortable chairs. Like a social security office.1 point

Regarding Trumps tweets or whatever they are.. I think the misspelling and grammar is intentional. Gets people talking about that.1 point
