In fact, gender transitions are banned in Khelif's home country of Algeria, so if she hadn't been female at birth, she likely could not even have competed under their flag as a woman. Khelif is not a transgender athlete. She was born female but has a disorder of sex development (DSD) that results in XY chromosomes and naturally elevated testosterone levels. DSD encompasses a group of rare conditions that affect genes, hormones, and reproductive organs. Individuals with DSDs may be raised as female but possess XY chromosomes and testosterone levels typically found in males.”

That stinks. Apple may offer a free trial but trying to cancel it before it's up is very difficult. Yeah, been there, done that. MLB is doing everything it can to turn fans away. Spending money on their product and still not being able to watch a favorite team isn't the best business model.

DD could have been forgiven for trading prospects if he had done the companion work to get the scouting, drafting, and development science deployed to the minor league system so that the Tigers' pipeline would replenish after his trades. It wasn't the trades themselves as much as his lack of attention to the development end. The system didn't have to be barren just because he had traded a few guys.

I feel pretty confident in saying that if Tork was both not producing results AND not putting in perceived effort to try and get better that he would’ve been demoted earlier in the season and they would’ve made an effort to deal him for something at the deadline. The reality is much more likely to be that we promoted him through the system quickly, he doesn’t have experience making a lot of adjustments as a result, struggled with timing and then pitch recognition trying to compensate, and lost confidence. He has since been trying to retool his approach in Toledo and there are obvious positives and some collateral negatives that still need to be ironed out. i wouldn’t give up on Tork at this point, but it would be responsible for the organization to both exercise some patience with him for the rest of this year and also come up with a contingency plan for 1B if he can’t recover to be what we need him to be.

On top of today’s soft numbers, the BLS revised their reports lower from the last two months. You know, the strong numbers that everyone got excited about. June was overstated by 27k or roughly 13%. May numbers were revised for a 2nd time after they already revised them last month. The May numbers were initially 272k and now it turns out the real number was 216k. That’s an insane 56k miss that they continue to play off as accepted error in their polling process. There’s no reason to believe that these soft numbers from July won’t be revised even lower in the next few reports.

I don't want to see Tork until spring training next year. I don't wanna see half-assed efforts at improving. I do want to see if he is 100% fully committed to being a better MLB player next year, in spring training... including fielding his position more seriously, as well as understanding what he needs to do with the bat to be successful against MLB pitchers. Adjustments included, or not. But definitely a better approach. I don't think he can get to that place this year. A stay in Toledo for a short while where he can essentially be the exact same as he was previously, 99%, and make a 1% minor tweak that earns him a "reprieve" is not enough, IMO. I want 100% commitment. I don't think we get to see that until 2025 spring training. He's either committed next year, and on the Opening Day roster... Or he's not any different or he's giving up or just not taking this MLB-thing seriously enough... and then I'd rather see Keith at 1B and Jung or Lee at 2B. Tork can stay in Toledo as a AAAA... if that's what he prefers. Until Harris can figure out some trade for him to send him off. Just my 2 cents.

I was at the WM/Ft Wayne game last night. We sat right in front of Max Clark's parents. They saw we had Tigers gear on and chatted with them a bit.

There a lots of questiona marks with the line-up, but they were playing close to .500 ball with a garbage line-up for most of this season. Maybe Carpenter stays healthy all year. Maybe Jung, Malloy or Dingler will hit. Try out Meadows and Torkelson again. Vierling, Perez and Ibanez are coming back. I want them to try to be the team that breaks out and surprise everyone. Of course, they could not even try to win and sit around and lose 90+ games for the next three years until all of Harris's draft picks are ready, but I prefer that they try to do something.

He led the AL in OPS+ six times and runs scored four times. He amassed a 47-win five-year peak, that’s 9.5 WAR per season for five years straight. If you’re a Hall of Fame voter, you’ll be called upon to explain why you didn’t vote for Mike Trout on the first ballot.

Levi did produce 3 straight 70+ PFF graded games including a 7th best DT score of 80 in week 18 so he showed some promise. Considering how virtually every Holmes early to mid round picks took big steps in year 2 or 3 I wouldn't be surprised if Levi does the same since this is essentially only his 3rd yr.

We can't complain about our past GM that settled for too little then complain about our current one asking too much and not immediately settling. Sure there was a chance he turned down a better offer last week by waiting but Id rather him take the chance and hope that a better offer comes then take one of the first ones he gets cause he's worried a better one wont come.
