  1. Cheers. Glad for you. In May I will be closing in on eight years. One of the ways to avoid getting older is to hang out with younger people, which is something I do, although nobody gets my jokes. They just don’t get my subtle cultural references, although I get to pick up theirs to a certain extent.

  2. The court system was way to nice to him. The whiny rich boy cry baby criminal deserved a much worse fate, but the system is designed to protect the wealthy and powerful. In fact, the whole country is being way to nice to him, even some of the liberals. It's a disgrace that this disgusting piece of trash has been normalized. It's a symbol of who we are as a country I guess.

  4. What are you doing, man!! That is never maga approved behavior and especially on Inauguration Day! You are halfway to being a Bernie Bro. Starbucks is quite possibly the most woke, DEI and LGBT friendly company in America. On top of that, you have the audacity to give these out for free. That’s encouraging them to accept handouts and not be responsible citizens that add to our economy. I’m surprised you didn’t give them free healthcare and a children’s book about living with two dads.

  5. Brad should really think about looking into the online fanbase for both coordinators. Many are more knowledgeable than either of the losers we had this year. No doubt this same team is undefeated and looking for win 19 on Sunday had we had someone from Twitter calling plays.

  9. Thank you for your service. However, you are making a mistake supporting a draft dodging mob boss who openly disrespects military members, the constitution, our laws and ideals and even disrespects those who support him.

  10. Military service provides no moral high ground and honorable service members don’t brag about it either. You sound entitled.

  11. https://www.borowitzreport.com/p/inauguration-to-be-held-inside-cybertruck WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In an eleventh-hour decision on Sunday, the Inauguration of Donald J. Trump has been moved from the Capitol Rotunda to the interior of a Tesla Cybertruck. The change of venue, dictated by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), means that only people with a net worth of over 100 billion will be able to attend. “There’s room for me, Zuckerberg, and Bezos, but, unfortunately, not JD Vance,” Musk said. “I usually don’t let employees work remotely, but JD will be allowed to call in.” The decision to hold the Inauguration inside the electric vehicle pleased Trump, who estimated the number of people inside the truck at 4 million.

  12. There’s an ignorance to history. Like Trump needs a guidebook. Anyone foolish enough to think “he wouldn’t have done that unless Biden did it first” deserves to lose their money.

  13. One quote I heard recently that will stick with me (credited both to Joseph Heller and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr but the quote is still good) is that, upon hearing that somebody else was making considerably more: "I have something he doesn't have-I have enough." It's a paraphrase, actually but you get the drift. People like Drumpf, Elon, et al will never be satisfied with what they have, and most likely can never truly enjoy it.

  15. Tariffs will act just like sales taxes in the sense that they will hit the bottom half of the income distribution hardest (as President Cleveland understood perfectly well a century ago). Just what the US income distribution needs is a Trillion in new taxes paid mostly by the underclass. We are doomed.

  21. Although I liked him as OC, Ben Johnson doesn’t scare me as a rival head coach. His offensive line in Chicago will still be trash. Caleb Williams is a vastly different QB than Jared Goff, and I have no confidence he will resurrect his career. They have enough talent to win some games out there, but I’d be surprised if he’s a magic man who finally brings the Bears success. I’m more interested in who we replace him with here. I’m thinking it’ll be Tanner Engstrand, but Scottie Montgomery is a possibility.

  23. Apparently Trump is now not only pardoning non-violent J6ers, but is also commuting the sentences of the J6ers convicted of serious offenses. So if any of the latter group are released and commit violent crimes, it stands to reason that Trump should be held personally responsible

  30. i'd be worried about lavine coming here for all the reasons ive stated before: selfish, plays no defense, opted out last year rather than play, will think this is "his team" and thus make even more selfish decisions. plus, where does ivey fit in next year? on the positive side, it would give them a dynamic scorer that they lack. he's kind of like a bigger kyrie irving, but more reluctant to pass. if kyrie and luka can coexist in dallas, why cant lavine and cade coexist here? the fit with lavine, ivey, and cade would be really awkward and i dont see how they make it work with them being on the court at the same time. unless they just want to eschew defense altogether and just try to outscore teams. or do you then move ivey for a rim protector? and if they got lavine they would be capped out, right? im not sure about that but i think theyre right up against it next year. youre trading interior defense and hustle for expensive superstar offense. in the long run, superstar offense is harder to come by. but i still have reservations about taking lavine and his deal.

  40. I mentioned here before that I had my 9th birthday party in the lower deck in left on the Fidrych Yankees Monday Night game. The last day of school was the Friday before. Summer was starting. I was going into surgery in a week. All night I was surrounded by friends and family, some no longer with us. We expected a crowd of 20k, it was jam packed with 48k. The cheers on every out. The post-game curtain call, which was a rarity back then. From memory, almost 50 years later, I could write a 5,000 word essay on that night. Easily the most memorable day of my childhood. But ask me to write 500 words about anything I did in 2017 and I’d be stumped without checking emails or a calendar from that year. I’m so silly that whenever I watch a replay of that game I still hold out the faint hope that when the camera pans the crowd I might spot us, somehow having never noticed before. If someone offered me a chance to go back to that day for 6 hours in exchange for $100,000 I’d write a check in a heartbeat.
