Reading up on this again in the News has me ticked off even more at the Shepard tweet. Guess the dude has to get his podcast going. He’s starting **** that doesn’t need starting.2 points

Spring training is fun physically if you’re in attendance, but following it online is not that nourishing an experience.2 points

It’s definitely time for Gibby to hang up the microphone, unfortunately. I enjoyed him in the booth, but the typical viewer is going to find him tough to listen to. Wish him nothing but the best. Hopefully the Tigers find ways to keep him involved- occasional tv guest, honorary assistant coach, etc. Baseball is something he loves and taking that type of thing away from an aging and sick person can be devastating. He’s done more than enough good for all of us and the organization to still have some type of regular role.1 point

In my 20s I had a lot of people tell me I looked like Gibby. It's tough to see him struggling because he was my doppelganger of sorts. In my late 30's people started telling me I looked like David Wells. That was wake up call to drop a few...dozen..pounds1 point

Gibby was in the park when we were in Sarasota to see the Tigers/Orioles game in February. The photo below was taken pregame. Not surprisingly his mobility was somewhat challenged but all things considered, very understandable. I stated this prior, he really didn’t need to be there (he should not have been there). He sat in the very hot sun off to our right for the first half of the game and moved up to sit in the shaded concourse after that. If he had anyone with him we never saw them. I honestly felt for the guy. Gibby leaving the booth is very unfortunate because of the reasons he’s having to do so. I enjoyed his contributions in the booth. I hope he doesn’t become invisible from this point on.1 point

And all of the listed advances (medical, worker safety, sanitation) meant more babies/children grew up to be adults. So much for progress!1 point

We have to keep in mind that Ausar is coming off of a serious blood clot issue so I believe that's why Bickerstaff is monitoring his minutes. Bickerstaff is like a Dwayne Casey clone. Great culture builder, players coach, the type of coach to lay a successful foundation but not the type of coach that will elevate a team to true contender status due to questionable in game management.1 point

I note the nice field-drag capability she is using here.1 point

I don't know if I believe it was on the Tigers. If it were why did they announce what they did a few weeks ago? I'm not yet buying into anything cynical about this.1 point

Yeah. Movies about entertainers and athletes will be a sweet spot for that. Samuel L. Jackson in Coach Carter. He was born in 1948 and Ken Carter was born in 1959. But nobody really knows who Ken Carter is. Thought I had one with Moneyball. But Billy Beane is a year older than Brad Pitt. Quinton Aaron is a few years older than Michael Oher in The Blindside. Something not related to the sports/entertainment world. Redford and Hoffman were a bit older than Woodward and Bernstein.1 point

They make an upgrade by putting the luxury seats behind homeplate so they have to offset it by doing some bad. Honestly though I'm surprised it took 25 yrs for this to happen1 point

Jennifer Lopez, born 1969, played Selena in the movie about her. She was born in 1971. is that a major motion picture? I don't know. But it's what I could come up with after a few minutes.1 point

blasphemous is too strong a word for a stadium 25 years old but it stinks nontheless. No personality.1 point

We can all say we were there when he started his career as the greatest right fielder in Tigers history.1 point

They'll go back to the Jaden Ivey staggered minutes. I don't love that answer, but that's what I'm expecting.1 point

Ironic, coming from Shep. At least Gibby can point to his Parkinson’s diagnosis and treatment contributing to his difficulties in the booth. Shep just flat out sucked.1 point

No matter how much weight you have to lose, you should always allow yourself one cheat day per week in which you get to eat what you want and don’t count the calories. It’s a great carrot to make getting hit by the stick more palatable—it’s good for your mental state. Of course, this works only if you are religious the other six days of the week. If you backslide a second day, that will blow everything up.1 point

I think most of increased longevity has to do with medical advances (which are also in jeopardy under this administration) and lifestyle changes (such as less smoking). Work place safety (also in jeopardy if de-regulation goes too far) plays a role too.1 point

It's counterintuitive, but I've found I can still have some fast food (Wendy's and Taco Bell in particular), as long as I'm still tracking. Those are actually easier than the mom and pop places that don't tell you calories because then I'm just guessing (and probably poorly). I do Home Chef for most dinners though, which in the same way tells me how many calories I'm taking in.1 point

Download Outlook from the Microsoft Store and sync all your Gmail and Yahoo mail accounts to it. I had eight separate Gmail accounts I use for different purposes coming into a single Inbox. It’s so convenient once you get it working. Can’t recommend it highly enough.1 point

Counting calories is the best way to lose weight because you kind of treat it like money. You establish a goal, which acts like a bank, and you feel as though you can’t go into debt by going over your calorie count. I felt like that, any way. I also weigh everything I eat at home on a gram scale before I eat it. I don’t trust my eyes to help me moderate.1 point

I hope that kick to the family jewels is why Ausar wasn't in there at the end. That would be better than another coaching blunder of not having your best defensive player on the court against a possible league MVP.1 point

Per the Free Press...Gibby is stepping away from broadcasting to focus on his health. It's a shame.. At times he was difficult (not ancient **** Clark counting down to New Years difficult tho) to listen to, but I enjoyed hearing his perspective0 points
